- Sea fishing on the Cornwall coast at this time of year you really have to make the most of any opportunity you can. Here I explore an area of sandbanks and several reefs try to find the fish and try to find some shelter from the wind and swell. Little did I know that something BIG was about to swim by!!!

@@cag1763 - Yes, I did watch that full of envy. I almost couldn’t believe it, I don’t think we get the Bluefin in Australia, well at least my part of Aus. That was a fantastic effort he put in. I’ll bet he was feeling a bit sore next day. Their sizes were unreal. 🛥️🎣🐟🇦🇺

One of the many things I love about your channel is the realness of it. I love how you don't hide when there are problems, instead you show how you troubleshoot. Who knows how many people you have helped solve a problem just by showing what you do in a similar situation. Or how even the best of fisherman have days where it just doesn't go how you planned it in your head. Or how instead of ranting about a wasted day, you still appreciate all the little things like the sunset, or the birds, or a cool shark sighting. Cheers to you!

Well that day had the test of patience about it John, swell , wind, all going on, lovely mackerel at the start , seemed the dogs wouldn’t leave be tho. But what a nice sight seeing the basking out there ,stunning creatures , worth the trip for that. appreciate you being late for your tea bud and all efforts 👍🏼👍🏼

well the weather wasnt great, the fish werent what you were after but a crap day fishing and catching beats a good day at work hands down, and that shark just takes the biscuit, what a creature to see, im so jealous of what you have down there, enjoyable watch as per usual John, thanks for sharing it with us all

By far the best channel on CZcams. Love the foraging videos. Even went out myself a few times now. Still looking for the lobsters and good sized edible crabs but had plenty winkles, in size velvet swimming crabs, mussels and clams. Finally managed to get some secret local knowledge on where to find the lobster holes, so will be heading there soon🤞🏼

Spotted lots of big basking sharks going between the Scott platform and an accommodation barge, off Shetland. Some sight. Keep up the good work.
You do see more of them off that way than here. And in the Irish Sea. Wonderful aren’t they.
Not a bad session john, well worth going out, that pouting, have you noticed, as they get older they lose those bronze stripes that they have when they are juvénile fish
Usually they do but I find that it depends where they’re living. If they’re in deep water or cloudy water that lose them. If they live in the reef all their life they keep the bands and go deep rose and bronze.

I finally got out on the boat after the winter and i would "klll" for one of your "fail days" 😆
8hrs fishing over two days, one poor cod and one codling, but the weather was absolutely amazing and a couple of Porpoise spotted(rare close the shore) so not a total waste.
It’s never a total waste. 😉
That felt hard work. Big shark makes up for it. Makes it worth it.

9:13 - That's a Corbins Sand Eel. Cool catch that I went for one at Mevagissey during our Winter league.
I don’t think it was. I am under the impression that they have 2 teeth at the back of their throat. This one didn’t. I have caught them before and made a post about it on the Fishlocker Fb page.
@@TheFishLocker Black bottom lip and no spot on its head is a Corbins. Launce don't have the black bottom lip and a clear spot on their head. Both cool catches whichever one. Just thought I'd mention it.

Epic footage of the basking shark mate! I'm still yet to see one, but hopefully I will get my chance :)
The conditions weren’t ideal, catch them on a calm day and they are truly something to behold.
Finally got to go out this weekend. Caught a couple out of season cod and a redfish that was barely bigger than my hook, but it was just good to get back out.
Some times it’s more about the fishing than the catching isn’t it. 😊🎣

Very interesting to see the big shark but unfortunately not a very productive day. I have said it before but, you just have to somehow find a 'market' for Dog Fish because at the rate you can catch them, you would 'make a fortune'. Better luck next time John. Cheers, Don from South Aust.
