- What will we catch in our last haul of the Fishlocker Lobster pots? We love working a small number of lobster pots from our small family boat. Such a wonderful and rewarding experience that often brings delicious rewards. Hauling our lobster traps by hand makes it all the more rewarding when you catch something to eat. Join me to check our pots and talk you through the things we catch. Teaching about the marine world and how to care for it - Including conservation regulations that are in place in Cornwall UK. This season hauling the lobster pots we have had some incredible captures and some delicious meals for the family. Thank you for joining us and stay safe.

I did not imagine I would have to say this, but I guess a couple of folks are feeling extra sensitive today. If people are so sensitive to only see offence and not flippant humour. Not having noticed any thing other than humour 'to what did they take offense at?' I used to sail as often as I humanly could, and watching you fishermen in little boats bobbing and rolling around on heavy swells always amazed me! I never thought I'd get to vicariously experience it from the other side. Keep up the great work.

1 mm is a tiny measurement John, there must be plenty of fishermen that would keep those lobsters. Full credit to you for returning them to live another day. Great video

The fishermen keeping those lobsters run a big risk getting caught back at port and getting a huge fine. Not worth it.

Another lovely lookin day but God that sea was rough the shot thru the front window of the boat sent me green and I’m just sat on me sofa! Had a small panic as I read some of the comments with people saying see you next year and I’m thinking Noooooo but also read you will still do the foraging and fishing so am much relieved. For me it's the sea, as redundant as that might sound. The sounds, smells and rhythmic motions are so comforting. That and watching someone perform a task that has an immediate, clearly measurable reward.

We caught an octopus once in our creel. I've eaten it in Spain before but we couldn't bring ourselves to kill it, although it was a decent size.
We had a bit of a job getting it out the pot. Amazingly strong things.

Been watching a lot of your videos and I got to say more people should because i think you do it right. You always seem to take a conservation first approach which is nice. wish more people did. Keep the videos coming love the pot check and forage videos with the cooking. Cooking is even better when you have a father in law that appears to be a trained chef. Eat well and stay safe.
Sorry to see the pots come in for the season John. Mother Nature is just a feisty gal. I was happy to see you were able the pressure wash them at the dock. I can't imagine Hannah putting up with that stink in the backyard for the entire Winter. Then again, if you have a particularly nasty neighbor, maybe a few right near the fence may not be such a bad idea! Your videos really bring me a great deal of joy and I truly appreciate all the effort you put into creating and bringing them to us. Thank you again my brother! Love home and kiss the family for me.

Love everything you do but the pots (just don't know what's coming and get excited to see especially the red pots) and the rock pool forages are my favourite as they bring up good memories of childhood and bring some light into my world. Thanks for the great season for those of us who don't get out on the water any more. I have to admit that I was starting to feel a hint of motion sickness just watching all that pitching and yawing - and that's with the stabilization. I get the impression that there's a lot of pressure on the fishery based on the size of lobster you take in. With so many 'almost' lobsters, it looks like as soon as they get big enough, the end up in a pot, and don't often get to grow much beyond that.
I don’t know. We have had some absolute monsters in the pots this year.

And I clean the ropes every time I haul them and periodically swap them out and pressure wash them throughout the season. 👍🏻
