McLaren didn't invite him. The FIA chose McLaren as the team to be visited because their garage location was optimal due to safety reasons for the orange.
McLaren said so in a press statement.

Sit down. I’ve been an F1 fan since Villeneuve. The father. And I think DTS is fantastic.
As a McLaren supporter, I was disappointed to see this, but I also recognise that this decision was bigger than the team and falls more on the shoulders of Liberty and the FIA. At the end of the day, he has every right to visit any GP he wants, so even if you don't like him, you do at least have to respect that fact.
You wanna talk about rights and respect, you best find a better example. I acknowledge his right, but nothing compels me to respect a man who attempted a coup to retain power, and is facing 4 felony trials (and counting).
