- Welcome to the incredible home of Ferrari in Maranello! I recently had the pleasure to visit the Ferrari headquarters in Maranello for the Maranello factory tour. This amazing town is home to the Ferrari F1 factory as well as the Ferrari factory. Not only is it home to the Ferrari offices but they even have a Ferrari test track. In this video I will show you around Maranello, Italy and some amazing Ferrari museums. If you're a Ferrari fan you'll want to watch this video!

"Everyone is a Ferrari Fan, Even if they are not, They are a Ferrari Fan. Even if you go to the Mercedes guys" - Sebastian Vettel
(Referring to the The Red Merc Seatbelts)
If u are an italian born and want to buy a ferrari there is no wait list for u , that is smth that shows how much ferrari cares about italy
But they only sell a very small number so its not like many italians can own it
@@crystal8537 ofcouse their production run is limited but if there were two people in line to buy a ferrari they would 100% sell the ferrari to the italain born its one of the unsaid rule but it is how it is they really take pride in their home country thats for sure
99% of italians cannot affor a ferrari, they can barely afford to move out of parents house at age 35
I was in Maranello in July 1998 for a visit to the museum and the next morning at our hotel about 7am we were woken up by the distant sound of a V10 engine of Michael Schumachers Ferrari testing at the Fiorano track near by.
Awesome.
The best alarm clock!🏎️🏎️🏎️
I appreciate the fact that the museum does not have ropes or barriers between the visitors and the vehicles. It allows you to get nice and close (respectfully, of course!) and to get some great pictures.
Who else appreciates how often he posts??!! I always have a video to catch up on!! Amazing work, as always kym!!
Another one too tomorrow
Thanks Kym, My wife and I stayed in Bologna In 2018 and made the pilgrimage to Ferrari and pretty much did everything you did there. From there we went Lamborghini and Pagani. Surprisingly most of the people on the tour were from Australia and we all had a great time.
You're in the catbird seat, Kym. Both Pagani and Ducati offer tours. the Pagani facility is halfway between Modena and Bologna. Ducati is in northwest Bologna (Borgo Panigale) and for 32 Euros you can get a museum and factory tour. and we cannot forget my favorite. Lamborghini. east of Modena and northwest of Bologna. I can imagine you have to get to your day job tomorrow but if after Sunday you don't have to head anywhere, try some of the above.
Lewis Hamilton likes this 😂

@@Ponch_ITKjust stfu you got nothing to say and probably accomplished nothing also
Shut up 🤫@@Ponch_ITK
@@Ponch_ITK hmmm let's see; a "washed up" NFL quarterback left the team he won 6 Super Bowls with and went to Tampa . . . . oh, he won Super Bowl 7 there ! You are just stupid (uninformed anyway.) LeBron did same moving from Cleveland-> Miami-> L.A. new titles. Oh, and a guy named Reggie Jackson; went to Yanks and won title there
oh, kym, kym, kym, how you suffer for our edification. honours, chapeaux.
It’s a non-stop grind
I was there yesterday as well, wish I saw you to say hi. I saw leclerc’s white 812 competizione aperta, once outside a restaurant by the track and again driving past the museum.
Bugger! I was there too, I met the legend Kym but no Leclerc 😢
Thanks Kym, appreciate the tour!! Hope you enjoyed.. 👍👍
I did!
I was lucky enough to get a full factory tour ..walking through the gates was incredible. We went in every building from the engine shop ..assembled line and f1 facility …saw Charles doing to work in the fox building next to Fiorrano money can’t buy tour arranged via Ferrari uk ..very lucky we got access to every building and we visited the museums the day before with a night in Modena…the best restaurant rant is over the bridge on the left NOT cavalinos !
Definitely a dream of mine being a Ferrari fan. Would be awesome.
I have spent 6 days there last week it was lovely! Especially seeing the SF24 tests at fiorano
Great to hear!
I recall an excellent lunch in that Cavallino restaurant when on tour in a Ferrari 400.
And a pleasant surprise was the range of models for the limited-run production /special-bodied cars made by Lancia, Maserati, Pegaso, etc, not found in England.
I travelled to Maranello in late 2022 - it’s nice to see all the familiar places around the town! They’ve got another great metal prancing horse structure just outside the Ferrari factory where they build the road cars.
Also worth noting, they update the livery on the show cars (except the ones in the F1 championship room) every year, so they had the F1-75 livery on them when I was there.
Great video!
Edit: at 1:05 you can see they have 1 Ferrari flag up on either side, representing 1 race win this year - the more F1 races Ferrari wins, the more flags will appear throughout the year!
I wish I’d known that prior to doing the video
Kym You love your Job and we love watching you.
Cheers
Went to Maranello and Modena today, saw and went to all the places you had recommended, unfortunately Cavallino’s was closed but did go to another restaurant nearby, cheers Kym and keep those video’s coming.
Frequent uploads, no fluff with a lot of actual information. 👍
Plenty more to come to
i was there last september, got a full tour of the factory and the facilities, and the corse client garage where all the customer f1 and xx cars are stored, absolute amazing experience
I was lucky enough to make my pilgrimage in 2022. What an amazing facility!
i love Kym he`s giving us the best content ever
Tell your mates, please
Kym’s on fire this year!!!!!!
Ferrari is in many ways the world's most respected brand. It is an amazing company. Enzo Ferrari came from very humble roots. What a great story....
We went to Maranello back in 2018, so this was Vettel and Raikkonen days. We stayed in Bologna as well. Its not too far of a drive from there. Beautiful quaint city thats Ferrari everything. The museum was one of the highlights of our Italian trip! Molto bene!!!
Loved this one!!
Went to Maranello in 2001 as part of a trip to see the Imola GP. Also went in 2008 as part of another summer holiday to Bologna. (First time for wife in Italy).
The expansion in Ferrari buildings was noticeable from 2001 to 2008. So watching this video and the even bigger expansion is quite impressive.
And yeah, I enjoyed lunch in Cavalino both times. I enjoyed the first more, I guess they had less tourists then and were more chill.
I love your videos! Thank you and travel safe.
I'm a huge Ferrari fan here going way back. What a waste of a seat giving Lewis a ride. Lewis has no wins left in him based on his 3 year losing streak. I'd love to see Max bring Ferrari another championship.
Thank you Kym, an excellent overview of Maranello. Was there last year and had a great time. If you've time when you're covering Monza, check out the Alfa Romeo museum in Arese about 15 min from Milan. They conduct a 'storage' room tour' on limited days where you'll see some classics and some fantastic concept designs. Also well worth a look.
Thank you! Will do!
Not a Ferrari fan, but really enjoyed visiting the two museums last summer. The old race cars were really something else, te pilots were insane to race in these birdcage tubular frame race cars. I also confirmed that the 288 GTO is my favorite Ferrari ever.
Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. Fabulous time. Thanks for the vid to relive an experience of a lifetime.
Glad you enjoyed it
Loving the content! Thanks, Kym!
My pleasure!
Drove from Florence to Garda last September and just had to stop in Maranello to experience the factory and museum. Pretty great experience, quiet little town. Great video, Kym!
My literal dream trip. Great Video!
Thank you Kym!!! It was really fun to see the tour or Maranello!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
fantastic music in your videos , sets the mood brilliantly
Many thanks!
These videos are your best, they always give me vacation ideas. Great work
Glad you like them!
Absolutely fantastic video!! 👍👍👍
Thank you very much!
Love it Kym you lucky thing.
Almost $8 a gallon of gas is absolutely RIDICULOUS 🤩
I see what you did. “Roaming the streets” with a Roma in the background. 👏
That was pure fluke, not planned
my favorite F1 dude!!!
Oh wow, fellow West Aussie resident. Cool videos, only a new subscriber. Binge working ahead of Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.
I love Maranello
I’ve bin there several times in the factory, my customer where the technical of MSchumacher in that time, so you know how Ferrari hart is, loads of story’s heard, but he was so proud I got a sight seeing in the factory self!
But as always Italians are chaotic but in the end piano piano I could do my business!thnx for the memory
Thanks as always Kym
You are so welcome!
Rumour goes adrian newey already re-designed that roundabout improving flow
Kym never fails to give us interesting vids for viewers! Esp for me living in SEA not as assessible to these factories/f1 related places
Hi! Kym 👋🏻👋🏻 Another fantastic masterpiece of video👍🏻👍🏻 Looking forward to the F1 race. Good Luck! Ferrari Sainz & Leclerc
We were just there today! We'll be in the paddock at Imola on Friday. Hopefully we'll see you there :)
I’ll be there
Kym Illman to Ferrari as Photographer Confirmed?!? 🤯
Glad you enjoyed lunch at Cavallino. In the old days, customers used to drop their car off for service at the factory across the street and have a nice lunch while they were waiting. The place across the street is the old original plant, not the modern one of today.
Thanks for the info!
@@KymIllman When in Las Vegas, please try Batista's Hole in the Wall for good italian. In a strip shopping area not far off strip.
Next door to heaven.
As an American, just a friendly reminder the cost of gas/petrol, as in the actual product itself, is roughly the same. Taxes on US gas are roughly 14% of the 'pump price'. Most EU countries are close to and over 50% in taxes (including VAT which is a novel concept to Americans).
I went to Italy last year for the Imola GP, unluckily the race was cancelled, but Maranello was nice to visit. I planned to do a day trip, ended up spending 2 days there.
GRAZIE KYM!
Thanks Kym.
You are so welcome!
Bellissima!!!
Good, interesting video. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
I really like the F50 in yellow
Thanks Kym, I loved the beautiful Italian back ground music in your video, and I loved Italy and the authentic Italian pasta when we were last there, enjoy the weekend at the Iconic Imola circuit. P.S. Would love to see some photos of the Senna memorial if you can get around to that part of the circuit.
Just posted a whole video of it
@@KymIllman thanks mate your a bloody legend!
Last week I paid €2,20 for a liter here in the Netherlands. Converted to a gallon that’s €8,33 a gallon, converted to dollars that’s $9,04 a gallon
Feli pricey huh?
€1,88 per litre is about $2.78 Canadian, and we're paying around $1.55 to $1.60 these days. I feel better about filling up now! 😎
@@watson956 it’s crazy over here. Always has been. Taxes taxes taxes
@@KymIllmanA lot of people run bi fuel cars in ltaly,in my area near Parma,a kg of NG comes in at €1,2 and a liter of NLG is €0,67.
Ok Bucket Listed - Thanks Kym
I’m putting it on the list!!
Ooh, wish you would have gone to Ristorante Montana. It was fantastic! Lots of racing memorabilia.
Very cool
Love maranello.. fyi. San Francisco Chevron station Sunday was $7.90 USD per gallon…hello Italy
You’re kidding! It was half that in Miami
@@KymIllman yes, this is expensive part of SF..this is before the switch to the summer blend..in the East Bay it’s about $4.50 USD..I guess having lived in London and Côte d’Azur I’ve been spoiled back in most parts of CA
Hi kym greetings from Thailand its a tough life you have kym all that first class flights and top restaurants 😂😂
Heaven
Driving a Mercedes to Maranello.😂
The way he said “supercARS” 😂
Thanks Kym, the closest I got was a visit to Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi! It was awesome! Almost lost my specs on rollercoaster!!
Sweet, a pilgrimage indeed!
$7.73 per GALLON.... That's about right for Northern California!😂
What’s going on in Northern California?
Really enjoyed. But Kym gas was roughly $2 per gallon oh let’s see about 4 years ago
Correct that’s what happens in life. Things go up generally.
When Lewis joins next year, I will have a good reason to visit😄
you should have gone to the ristorante montana to eat. its THE ferrari restaurant. drivers always went there to lunch, everything is decorated with ferrari memorabilia and real f1 car parts. some iconic pictures were taken there. its located near the most northern point of the fiorano test track
Next time!
@@KymIllman so... during the monza week? 👀
People need to know you have to own a Ferrari to get the tour through the factory although I hear they have bus tours but you're not allowed out
Also it's free if you own one but $250 per person for hanger-ons :p
The 812 super fast is a really special car 🥹. Other than The F40 and Enzo definitely something super special. Also that maroon F1 car who’s is it Sebs or Charles ?
I going there soon
Do you put the videos together yourself or do you send the footage back to Perth and get someone to do the technical stuff?
Oh, Kym! What a snazzy touch by making the video a solid 8 minutes long. A subtle hint toward the current headlines of Lewis moving to Ferrari in a bid for his 8th title, perhaps? Would love to know if that was intentional on your side? Excellent video, as customary. Keep well and all the best for the weekend! 🏎🏎🏁
I think you might be reading way too much into this
Kym says ‘Supercars’ like an American at 3:36
Kym, next time go to Dallara Museum in Varano de Melegari... if you stay in the same hotel as this year, it should be a 100mins drive
Forza Ferrari!
Dang $7+/gallon for gasoline?! People freak out when it goes over $4 lol
Best restaurant there is Montana. Lots of Ferrari drivers photos and memorabilia in there. Charles and Carlos were there recently during testing
Maranello is a city. ... from Wikipedia "City status in Italy is granted by the President of Italy (or by King of Italy before 1946) to select municipalities in virtue of their historical, artistic, civic or demographic importance, and might or might not meet the generally accepted (You're showing your Adelaideness here Kym ;) ) definition of cities."
Kym: Goes to Ferrari factory in Maranello
Proceeds to drive there in a Mercedes
Lewis Hamilton: “nice man”
You missed the Gilles Villeneuve memorium
❤
I visited the factory in the sixties. No fuss. Everything casual. Very dark inside. I have a momento signed in purple ink. Guess who.
When I was 10, I wanted to be a Spitfire. When I was 20, I wanted to be a Harley Davidson. For the last 40 years I have wanted to be a Ferrari…. 🤗🤫
Raise your hand if you’re just here for the Kym bloopers 😂
you should check out Lamborghini and Pagani's towns
You went to the wrong restaurant, the most "Ferrari" restaurant in town is Ristorante Montana.
You should have taken Adrian Newey with you Kym.
Can’t Ferrari make a winning car without him? Where is the Italian pride? Would mean more if they build a winning car without Newey.
Well hey as the geart Sebastian vettil once said everyone is Ferrari fan even if they don't want to admit they're Ferrari fans😊.
Fuel is alot cheaper than that in Australia too.
Process here in the US vary. I'm sure you saw each price last year. But FL has some of the cheapest. In California, they pay over $7/gl
