Here a fellow Romanian that really enjoy English playthrough and series, this game is wonderful and i hope for over 20 episodes!
I hope they will make in the future a city builder with Romanian theme maybe by a studio from Romania, like is this one ostriv made by Ukrainians with Ukrainian theme !

The creator is still creating additional content. Great game. I created my Thatchery when I created the Forestry. I've needed only one worker, and i have several hundred people in my village. You started your Thatchery way, WAY too late.
I saw he is still developing the game and it is great. Yeah I realized the thatchery was placed way too late. And then I made a big mistake with the reeds...but then again I am a beginner so I am still learning the game. So you are more than welcome to come with tips 😁😁😁
Highly recommend building the Trading Post as soon as possible. You'll be able to sell excess goods. The TP is the only place to acquire livestock. Be sure to build the necessary production buildings before buying livestock. You'll need to keep livestock fed, so get those farms going. The TP also allows you to buy iron and iron ore. Your smithy can turn iron into nails.
You made it before snow! That's always a rewarding accomplishment in Ostriv. My first try I only got to 8 houses. My most recent try I also got the farm operating the first year, Getting better!
You'll need to get the small granary built before the town can buy foods from citizens to sell in the market stalls. And be sure to notice there is an extra step in the granary to actually buy from people (like an on/off switch for each item). Same with the warehouse. Easy to miss and frustrating to figure out.
Building on hillsides is challenging, and this map has a lot of slopes and hills. It makes you play more creatively! It works best to rotate buildings so that they face the hillside to get them to build. If turned sideways sloping downhill then one side digs in too far to build. Zoom in as you place and you'll see why it won't let you - the roof touches the ground on the backside. Rotate until it evens out. Fields and orchards are good to place on slopes. So you could have placed the houses so that the house was on top (flat) at the edge and their gardens sloped down the hill behind. Make sense?
And remember, the charcoal pile needs to be placed away from housing because of the smoke (click on the little [?] to read the details). There may be other buildings that are smoky/stinky as well (perhaps the tannery?).

Wow. Thanks for the tips! But one question. If I buy goods from people then it means I am using my money, right? And in this game it is quite hard to make money.
It is a balancing act. The town (you) will buy foods from the citizens, then resell the food through the market stalls to other citizens who need different foods to get a good variety in each home. If poor food variety, they will move away. You can also sell the extra foods the town makes (farming, windmill, trading) to citizens through the market stalls, as well as sell their foods that you bought (small granary) through the trader to other cities. Money in, money out.
As well, you need to make sure that each household is employed enough to pay their rents, taxes, and feed their families by employing as many as you can with fair wages. Cutting their wages eventually shoots you in the foot when they all move away because they didn't make enough wages to afford their needs. In exchange they pay you back in taxes when you set up your town hall. Money comes in, money goes out. The trick is to take your time and balance everything well. If you don't employ them and they can't afford to feed their family they will leave.
And as you get your trader(s) set up, make mental notes of what they tend to want to buy the most and concentrate some of your industry creating a surplus of that to sell (extra charcoal for example). In the beginning that will help any money shortfalls, though if you take your time, employ them well (men and women and lots of seasonal work) and then tax it back, you should balance out quite well.

Pre-recording in groups is a lot easier to make videos, but makes it hard to react to comments. I used to do that, too, but now give it an overnight between episodes to see what advice rolls in before recording the next video. Though some games are hard to resist...I could play Ostriv for hours!
If you want to see something interesting, look back through my playlists and find my earlier version of Ostriv from when it first released (6 years ago) to see what it was like before all of the updates. It was a solid game even back then.

This game is so detailed that sometimes I feel it is no longer a game. Maybe the lack of vegetation besides trees is a factor here. The graphics look very sterile to the point when one is so invested into designing the perfect town they forget how to have fun here. It's like Banished on steroids. Whatever....thanks for the upload.
Love it! More of this. I would also recommend Foundation. Has some good mod support going on.

The thatcher doesn't have to be near the reeds. (I saw this in another video.)
Yes, true, but the closer it is the better. This way they get out, cut the reeds and go back in. They skip making a longer way and time to the reeds.
In the other video it was pointed out that the builders have to walk to the thatchers and so if it is a long way from the building site, that causes them to slow. He suggested they make more trips. (I don't know as I have not yet played the game) What do you think?@@Skibitth
