GETTING BLASPHEMI READY FOR THE TRACK

- In Episode 254 of Mike Finnegan's Garage we journey to Mooresville, North Carolina to visit Customs by Bigun. Inside the shop we put in more work on my 1955 Chevy Bel Air to get it ready for the street and strip. This time around we pulled the trans to investigate the reason behind my slipping clutch and Bigun and friends cut three inches out of the overall track width of the Quick Performance 9 inch rearend so that the Mickey Thompson ET Drag slicks would no longer hit the 1/4 panels at high speed. With any luck, the car will be back on Harrell Engine's chassis dyno soon and the back to the dragstrip to see if we can get back to running 8 second passes.
Thanks go Geoff Gerko from Mantic Clutch USA for all the help and the Customs by Bigun for the awesome fab work! Give them both a follow on Instagram at:

and
/ manticclutchusa
and if you'd like to help keep Blasphemi running hard please buy one of the new shirts at www.fsmgarage.com
Thanks!

This is the second time I see Jeff doing his thing, this guy should have his own channel. love his sense of humour and most of all his knowledge.
Love this car, also you can tell a good shop by the level of awesome in the background. The fat tire Wizard Van sealed the deal for this place.
Finnegan is one of the most badass dudes with one of the most badass cars. Love watching roadkill and anything that he has out there on the internet. Stoked to watch Chase and him have a drag race
JESUS, GET A ROOM WITH THE GUY. FAN BOI MUCH?
@@kujonyanthawa594Yes, and fan girl.
Finnegan is an awesome guy. Wait til you meet him.
@@kujonyanthawa594 and get off my lawn !! 😤
@@kujonyanthawa594 I am the same way with Garrett cleetus . I am a huge fan . When he was up here last weekend in the pnw for the sprint boat races and I got to meet him for the first time I was star struck 😅
Roadkill sucks.
Regardless of performance, the aesthetics of the back end are so much better not having the rear tires poke out. Very good choice! :o)
Agreed. I never did like the tires sticking out.
The only things that should poke out are nipples.
Agreed! Looks so good 👍
@@FinnegansGarage is they mine
Clutch guy is definitely a dentist in an alternate universe, lol.
?
Clutch guy definitely has dentist vibes.
I saw this comment right when the video started and wondered, 10 min in and I am fully on board with your theory
@@Zaaf2003Dentist jokes, kinda like dad jokes only rapid fire
@@600wheel yeah no I got it watching the video lol
Thanks though!
Geoff must have been an FM radio DJ in another life 😂😂
🤣..he seemed to repeat everything Mike was saying but take twice as long doing it ... ok that's a little harsh I guess..sorry Geoff
The clutch guy is absolutely Hilarious. Great sense of Humor.
Never underestimate Finnegan’s ability to break parts.
The axle chop looks soo much better! Can't wait to see it rip again!
Love seeing how the pros do stuff real good!
That’s one thing o never liked about this car was how much those tires stuck out. Looks WAY better now.
Two Lane Blacktop was one of my favorite movies when I was younger - Blasphemi has been one of my favorite cars for a while now.
That is the first time I've saw a differential narrowed. Thank you!!! That is awsome!!!👌👍👍
I loved seeing Blasphemi doing breakin runs on the country road. Visions of Two-Lane Blacktop running thru my head...
I love that car and its sound ! Thanks for the update . I must admit " Blasphemi " is my favorite of your rides.
Use a 4 inch pipe cutter for removing the housing ends it takes less time and comes out a straighter cut than with the death wheel grinder
She's alive! Good to see her out on the road!
hell yea i love seeing this car up and going
Geoff is awesome he saved our day at texas 2k one year. Gave us the display model to get back out on the track and the street
Can’t wait to see you back in action at drag week
We need a new FSM shirt. "More problems equals better results" key to success
Several fun designs come to mind.
Damn! You got Jeff to work On it in person!!! The Velvet hammer in the Flesh!
Great 👍 content guys. Very interesting 🤔. Thanks for sharing 😊.
Love your content Mike. Helps inspire me to work on my project.
Bro.. car looks so much better with the narrowed rear end!! Fitment is on point son!!😊
TJ is awesome from Customs by Biguns, we where on the power tour this year had some issues with one of the cars. Went there to get an O2 sensor, then transmission line split in the driveway. He built new transmission lines on the spot for us. Then Pete from HED was cool enough to look at the tune on the car and did some changes for us to be able to make it home “14 hours away”. Great places to deal with
Blasphemi is back hopefully all goes well. Love that car. Passes everything but a gas station.😁
I keep waiting for the Clutch Guy to say Well isn't that special.. lol
Rear narrowed "while you wait " love those type of shops!
The three inches was perfect Mike and thanks for the education as always. Riveted listening to top notch builders/fabricators that are willing to share their tricks.
Hell yess!! Blasphemi is back !! Man I love that car ..
Are we supposed to not talk about that sweet ass van with a wizard on the side?!❤

Finn youve ended up with some bad assed toys bro. All the hard work has paid off for you. Speed and Marine is fitting!!
Thanks for sharing your life's adventures!!!
So glad this channel is back on track.👍
Definitely two lane blacktop vibes cruising that country lane! 😊

I love this car, and really liked the rear tires poking out, a bit of nostalgia. But looking at them slightly tucked, not too bad!!

Clutch guy is giving off major WKRP in Cincinnati vibes.
Giving Blasphemi some love!
Wow you could really see a difference on the tires. Looks better now imo. Cool video Mike and guys I really enjoyed it.
Man I stood between this car and Cleetus making a pass and it is nasty!!! Can’t wait to see it out again.
I love blasphemi! I remember when you got the RC version of blasphemi! I love both so much that I built my own RC gasser! You’re awesome Mike!!
Of of the coolest casrs on the internet and dragstrip..looks sick with rear end narrowed..tucked the tire a bit
.
Finally early to one of you incredible videos. Appreciate everything you do and the content you bring
"I barely speak English." That's very funny. I resemble that remark.

Love this car, the first time I saw it was at roadkill. Can't wait for next weekend, my son and I have been looking forward to it for the last month. 6 DAYS to go
Been waiting a long time for so Blaspemi updates. Awesome!!! Now on the the Caddy, please!!!
I love the new tire, wheel, body fitment, it's perfect with the tread inside and sidewall bulge outside
I'm a retired master mechanic, and besides working on construction equipment, I worked for the factory of Mack Trucks. Our HD axles were so lined on both ends and standard axles on one end. Almost always when they broke it was near the differential.
Thank you team Finnegan for posting something for everyone's interest .
Geoff is back! Love that guy.
Great video,thanks.
Now we're talkin' !
Had to pause even before the intro, JEFF HAS THE VOICE FOR RADIO! lol

Yost killed it. Blasphemi looks GREAT ! I was wondering what you were going to do with the axles but it wasn't a problem.
Eric and Bailey are deadset true craftsman
What a great car. Completely badass- I love of gassers.

Dude, that is one of the coolest cars on the planet.

Hell yeah brother! So sick, awesome video!
That 2nd last drive by in blasphemi sounded just like the interceptor from mad max. 🤘😎🤘
44:12 bro!!! That looks SO MUCH BETTER!!!!!
That van looks like a nice project for ya Mike 😉
I raced super modified lawnmowers around 2004. I’m not really a mechanic. I’m more of a decent parts changer. Our racing was so close at the time. That any little thing could be difference between 1st and 7th. So I got the bright idea to sneak around and have me a one off billet flywheel for my Vangaurd that already had. A cam roller rockers big push rods high torque starter and aluminum rods. They started making aftermarket flywheels a few years later. But as far as I know. I had the first one on a twin cylinder. So I had it built put it on and for sure it would slap the fuck out of 4500 rev limiter just blipping the throttle. But I didn’t take into account that if it revved up faster it was also gonna rev down quicker. When you let off the gas to set up for the corner. We didn’t race mowers like on tv. We raced on a high banked oval. So when I would dive down into the corner. Instead of dropping down to say 3,grand it would drop to 1200rpm. And did it ever fuck up me winning any races for about a month. Until it dawned on me what was going on. Because I was cheating. I couldn’t ask the smartest people I raced against like I normally did. But I figured out eventually that a shaved steel flywheel worked better for me. Now you can buy a billet flywheel for a huffy if u want it.
Hell yeah brother bad ass ride right there
Mike definitely found the right guys for storytimes and trashtalk galore! 😂😂😁😁😂😂
Looks like the first day of school is gonna be awesome for your kids this year!
Dude!! Cool The 55 lives again!!! Nice!! ✌️
Awesome Video!! I want to see Blasphemi in action at a race. Better yet, get a ride in Blasohemi. My life would be complete!!
Car looks sooo much better now
That clutch is pure car parts porn 😍😍😍 I had a billet SPEC clutch for my 2015 EB Mustang and it was so gorgeous. I was as sad as i was excited to install it cause i would never see it again lol
The goat mural on the van outside brings up more questions than i think i want the answers to
I like the axle stand.
I have already taken the day off for Rockingham day off Drag week hope to see you there
That's a beautiful 55 buddy!!
44:25 GROUMM..GROUMM..GROUMM..GROUMM..dang that HEMI sounds huuuuungry !!
Clutch guy was also on stay tuned. He’s hilarious
Tell Eric Yost that the axle ends have a stress riser wrapped right around the axle right where the broaching process stops. It is caused by the broaching process itself, that is why they have a tendency to break there - if I remember my "Mechanics of Materials" classes correctly. If an axle shaft breaks in between the splines and the end of the axle, it is because it is unsupported along it's length allowing it to flex. Think about taking a piece of cooked spaghetti and twisting the end. It will warp and twist into a loop. That is basically what the middle of the shaft is doing.
Should have used your Bud Lite beer muscles on the throw out bearing. LOL. Love the videos
She looks awesome as always........BUT the Boogie Van outside his shop???? Dang
