Current Bluesy retail price in the US from an authorized Rolex dealer is $15,600 plus sales tax.
My very nice regular local authorized Rolex dealer gave me a 2% discount as I paid by check.
    Your mileage may differ.

Bluesy is the only Submariner I would buy

Took me 1.5 yrs to get the 41mm bluesy

The further the Rolex market drops the more inflated Rolex MSRP looks. Here in Canada a sub no date comes to 12500 with tax. This already seems a little too high for a basic dive watch that is in no way limited.
That said, I would buy one immediately from Rolex if they weren’t such a customer service nightmare.

Rolex do seem to be trying to combat the grey market and flippers by raising prices, this leaves not a lot of margins. I feel they are looking to start there own second hand Market through ad’s

@@Watchmansam482 absolutely. Raising MSRP and hopefully clearing their long-standing waitlists is a sure way to hinder the grey market. However, the end user will further suffer at the AD with these sleazy price hikes. In my opinion, Rolex is going about this the wrong way. They should start by basing their waitlists on chronology of registered interest rather than nepotism and favouritism towards the “preferred clients.” Think car salesmen, real estate agent etc. The “preferred client” only confirms the existence of a less desirable client. Think the guy celebrating a career milestone who just wants one watch to wear forever, or the hobbiest whose been longing for a submariner. In the same years I’ve waited for a particular watch, a wealthy realtor in my watch group has received several Rolex, including the one I’m waiting for, without even registering his interest. He just gets the call from his buddies at the jewelry shop saying, “hey, we got this in, do you want it?” This has to stop. It’s plain and simple corruption. Rolex condones it. Instead, they hike the MSRP and strangle the market so they can get even more profit out of the end user. Such a sleazy brand that blindly calls itself a charitable trust. Official Rolex salesman are some of the most dishonest people I’ve ever encountered.

I agree with you. At the end of the day the average person saving and wanting a watch isn’t flipping. They want it to treasure and wear as a sign of hard work. I think the retail price hike has Rolex out pricing themselves. This has only been done to attack the grey market. But grey market flippers wouldn’t exist if people who really wanted the watches were getting them. Flipping is happening as people are trying to get a spend then want there money back because it’s not what they really want.

Hi i was just offered 11,430 for my 126613 LB blusey by watch finder 😂😂 and that was part of an exchange down for a Tudor blackbay58 and omega 300m which you would expect to get a decent offer for. I politely told them no lol.

      @Watchmansam482  Před rokem +1

Yeah a little off the mark there on that offer. I do love a blackbay.

@@Watchmansam482 Thank you for your reply. Yeah I was actually looking to down grade to the Black bay and Omega and free up some cash. I love both watches especially the Blackbay 58 it's beautiful wears amazing and is less attention grabbing then the Rolex. I do not feel comfortable wearing my Rolex day to day so it stays in the safe. Watches should be worn loved and appreciated can't do this with the Rolex but I'm definitely not going to take such a big loss. I had heard they were more competitive but I guess what you said in your video is playing out to some extent. Thanks for your video helpful context 👍👍

You’re welcome. Glad you are enjoying the channel. I’m a massive fan of the blackbay bronze. I would just hold on until someone offers an acceptable amount. Anyone in the know won’t lowball a quality watch.

@Watchmansam482 Thank you Watchman Sam and again thank for taking the time to reply that's exactly what I'm going to do I think. I have to totally agree with the bronze to watch it change overtime would also be something quite special. Was also looking at the Sliver it so unique but there are lot of videos saying it doesn't age well. Anyway enjoy the rest of your weekend.

If your bluesy was 2019 or older you should’ve taken the money. When your warranty expires your bluesy will be worth about $8k. Within a year it’ll be worth much less. Rolex decides to have a sale like De Beers Diamonds does and your watch won’t be worth scrap metal prices. If you wear your bluesy as a daily wear watch it’ll be worn out in about 5 years. If you leave it in the safe it’s still going to need regular service because the oils have to be cleaned out and replaced every couple of years. That cost about $1k and Rolex has over a year backlog at their service centers. You’ve been listening to the grey market hype but everyone knows that there’s watches at the AD now that are actually new with full warranty for msrp.

The watch market goes up and down , that was based on the current climate. Like the stock markets watch advice from 6 months ago and it might not apply now. People drive the market supply and demand. Maybe everyone took the advise at the time and this as now driven the market react

Don’t buy new and definitely don’t buy used from the grey market. The msrp has been artificially inflated by the grey market. The 18k and stainless Submariner “The Bluesy” is currently $16k msrp. One can purchase a 18k and stainless oyster bracelet for $2k the 18k bezel and crown for &1000. Then I can purchase a Swiss movement for $400 and for less than $300 I can get a dial that has any name I want put on it and a bezel insert and for another $300 I can have it all assembled by a watchmaker. Therefore I can have a custom watch made which has comparable materials to the Rolex bluesy for $4k retail. Why would I pay $12k for the Rolex name?
If that name means 3 times as much as the actual timepiece to you, for a watch, then what does that say about you?
We all like nice stuff but I’m not letting someone rob me with a watch. Especially these scumbag watch dealers who are stuck with a bunch of watches that have warranties running out and lubricants turning into varnish. Regardless of wearing these watches require periodic service to remove the oils and replace them with new oils. Rolex service centers are backlogged over a year at present so you’ll have to leave your watch at the shop sooner than later if you buy the wrong watch. How do you know if movement parts haven’t been swapped out with aftermarket parts or a complete movement swap? You won’t know until it’s sent to Rolex. How do you know it’s not a super clone?
Be smart and wait a while to buy. They’ll be giving the damn things away for 1/2 msrp in less than a year.
