This is not a personal dig at anyone who owns a Hulk, but even if I had the $ - which I don't - I wouldn't pay retail for it. It's just a not for me. I find it too gregarious, too flashy. I just happen to prefer something a little more discrete. 🤷♂️

That's the one that I would still own, if I was fortunate enough to be in position to choose.
I happen to be more drawn to Tudor as a brand also. Part of my preference for the understated I think, and I just happen to prefer the brands design language. I'm a fan of the Ranger and Pelegos (in black) too.

Unfortunately all of my peeps who were usually in/around London were back in the states when I got the call in July (pandemic and whatnot.)

Hulk's green dial is something special. I'm not against the Kermits, but once you've seen it in person, Hulk is the one and only choice.

Got to be the hulk for me. I love a quirky dial, wether it’s colour, sunburst, meteorite or enamel. Bought mine back in 2014 when nobody wanted one, mainly because it was green. Healthy discount too. As long as you stay true to your tastes you won’t go wrong.

I find the Hulk with more personality and something of its own, and special to own.
It is the one and only LV with a beautiful sunburst dial.

Absolutely agree on the analysis. People hyped up Hulk too much, I personally never thought it as much classy as the Kermits. The new Kermit (Or the Starbucks, I think it is more accurate to describe the color) is the most beautiful of them all, and to complement that with the upgraded movement, it's a clear winner.
Yep... I'm definitely one of those guys who just like watching well made videos about nice watches with no intention of actually buying one.
Glad I’m not the only one. I do the same with cameras. I’ll watch an in-depth review of a camera with zero intentions of buying it.

I have a hulk and wouldn’t want the other two. I wear it almost everyday and fits fine with any outfit or occasion. I love the super case too, and prefer the bracelet over the delicate bracelet of the Kermit, and the proportions over the slimmer lugs and wider bracelet of the new Kermit.
I had the feeling his view was influenced because he had the original Kermit. I also think he did not like the maxi case because he has a smaller wrist. I’ll stick with my Hulk. Maybe be my point of view is clouded also🤷♂️
@@allainbourque I’m sure his influence was because of what he owns. Funny but I never liked the Kermit. The bracelet sucks. And the green on it is more lime colored...a yellowish green. It isn’t a pleasant shade to my eye anyways.
Please remember that when the maxi case first came out most said it suited the "tool" watch persona that the watch portrayed. Now everyone has suddenly decided that we like delicate lines once again. People are so fickle.
@@cirrusmckinney It's hilarious. I'm honestly offended at the "maxi hate" that's emerged since September 1, 2020. Months ago these same people were offering us 2x retail for our watches lol.
If I wanted small lugs, I'd wear a Day-Date. The new Sub is, quite frankly, a disaster. It's a maxi case hack job that would've garnered the same response now had *it* come out in 2010.
Big lugs are for tool watches. Rugged look, protection, and lots of polish potential.
Original, is the original. Gotta respect the history and what it represents BUT Hulk is the better looking watch out of the three. My opinion of course. Used to own Kermit too.

They are going for that price because of mere hype. Rolex is probably the best at marketing. Compared to other watches Rolex falls short in almost every aspect.

The Hulk is my pick and the most interesting by far as Rolex is usually seen as conservative. Most people who know Rolex but don't know much about watches can't believe my Hulk is a real rolex. Also I love how the dial changes in the light while black is just...black. It can go from bright green to grey to black depending on lighting scenarios and I actually find it plenty versatile. I can proudly say I loved it before it was hyped...unfortunately couldn't buy it until the hype was quite a bit higher, but still extremely happy with it. Was between that and the batman. Would also love a batman someday

This is a very interesting comparison. I've never had these pieces in my hands, so I cannot say which one is my favorite. But to my eyes the old Kermit is the best proportioned of the three.
You have such conservative taste in watches, you could predict this outcome before the vid was made. I love the Hulk myself, the new Kermit is a Hulk with the thing that made it special taken away. To each their own of course!

I really like the no date and the two tone bluesy of the new ones. They stand out to me. The smurf and the hulk were much more exciting than “everything’s a black dial.”

I agree with your conclusion that the Hulk is not in the same league as the old or new Kermit. In fact, the green dial makes it unique and puts it in a much higher class than the Kermits.
For those (like me) that have no issue with a vibrant green dial, what Rolex did with the hulk's dial is a work of art. I still haven't seen a video that truly captures its beauty.

I like the hulk because of the uniqueness. In a world full of black and white dial watches, a green, radiant burst dial is fantastic. If you spend that kind of money on a watch, it should look special. The hulk does.
I love the Kermit. I really enjoy vintage looking watches and the kermit fits that bill. Looks great and functions great with a vintage vibe.
The Cermit, to me isn't a winner. It's like when a car company re-releases a popular car from their past. It never captures the original feel. To me, it's just a sub with a green bezel and I'd take the classic black in that case any day.
HULK HULK and HULK....... the Black Dial is on so many Rolex sports watches, the Green dial is iconic, unique and a rarity, kind of like the green second hand in the Air King, my other Fav..... Thanks for the great Vids.
Cool comparison video but I totally disagree. I fell in love with the beautiful green gold dial of the Hulk since it came out and bought one. I would like to upgrade to the new movement, but the change in dimensions in combination with the standard black dial just makes it boring in my opinion.

Hulk is by far the most interesting and dynamic dial. You can keep your boring black dials that never play with the light :)
I think that shade of Green is pretty easy to combine. I can see myself wearing the "New Kermit" as an every day watch. It goes well with all neutral colors I wear (black, white, brown, grey etc.). But I also don't think I would have a problem combining it with blue. Sure, it can look a bit wacky with warmer colors if you do not want to look like a tropical bird. But I am guessing few people wearing these watches are wearing bright orange or pink. And if they do, it would not even clash. You just need the style and personality to pull it off. And people confidently wearing bright orange and pink might just be able to.
The original is by far the classiest!! The hulk is fine with me.
The Hulk is amazing with the green sunburst dial. I own one and when you wear it on a sunny day OMG.
In my opinion I think one of the reasons they discontinued the Hulk is the green sunburst dial is very difficult to manufacture.

I have the Hulk but I would pick the new Kermit because of the contrast in color and more ergonomic case/bracelet. The original Kermit’s bezel is a scratch magnet. It shows aluminum silver underneath when scratched. I don’t think it would be pleasing to see with multiple scratches over time.

How times have changed. I literally walked into an AD I've never been to today and was offered the Starbucks.
1. Hulk 2. OG Kermit 3. New Kermit and if you are looking to buy 1. OG Kermit 2. Hulk 3. New Kermit. OG price has flattened but will start going up again next year same as the OG Pepsi’s have started to go up again, Hulk price will come down slightly but as more of them get snapped up, prices will continue to go up, New Kermit only just released and has at least another 5-7 years of production left, put ur name down at an AD and play the waiting game....
The original Kermit for me, I love the slender lugs on the smaller case but would have the modern bracelet fitted.
In my humble opinion, green does not go well with black. Just saying........

While the others are more classy and subtle, I feel that anyone who actually BUYS a hulk is someone who has multiple others in their collection already to wear on a daily basis. For this reason I like the Hulk more the sunburst is awesome to me
In late May I purchased the Starbucks new from my AD caliber 3235 then this week I get a call for the new Kermit V2 May-June 2023 release caLiber 3235 bth new and the same but Kermit V2 has a lighter green ceramic bezel. Lucky me.

I agree, I've never liked the aesthetics of the Hulk - I passed on the opportunity to buy one in 2015 and instead opted for the 114060. I never regretted the decision.

I have never been a yellow gold Rolex guy, until I saw mock-ups of the Hulk in yellow gold. It really pops. I hope the "leprechaun" becomes a reality one day.

As much as I don't mind all green in Hulk I hate that in certain light it looks faded and bezel is not matching the dial
I bought a 2003 50th anniversary Rolex Sub Kermit and I hated that watch. It was always losing time and after about two years of always being pissed off about it, I threw that watch in the safe until 2013 and sold it for $4K over what I paid for it. I don't recommend the 16610.
did you get it serviced and regulated? perhaps you brought it second hand?

I actually worked at a high-end jewelry store at the time and it was one of my first jobs out of high school and they required everyone to purchase and wear a high-end luxury watch to work there. So I was able to get that watch at the stores cost and then paid $150 a month out of my paycheck to cover it. I really enjoyed working there I worked there for three years and that watch I had looked at two different times by professional watchmakers and they did the best they could and it just was still always running slow. In the long run it’s OK I end up making a fortune selling it decade later.
I always loved the hulk. The dial is my favirite part. I wish the dual and bezel matched more exactly, but i like how loud it is. If you want underatated, modest beauty, the black sub is clearly the way to go.
I couldn't afford any of them so i bought a Pagani PD 1661 Kermit off Aliexpress and love it, its the way it looks not the precision etc Green and black spot on. So then i bought the GMT master 2 Pepsi all for less than 200 quid. I've noticed that if your not a watch freak no one will notice a 15k watch on your wrist. My most expensive i have is a 2k Rado Captain cook and no one comments or notices it.
As a Hulk owner I don't care about the old or the new, I feel that I do have what I wanted!

as an owner of a 114060 sub no date, i have to say the hulk is the more dynamic of these three watches with its stunning green dial. the other two are just subs with green bezels. a YTer named "watch eric" did a video where he replaced the black bezel with a ceramic green one and i realized the kermit is just that......a sub with a green bezel.
Green just happens to be my favorite color, if I purchase the green dial Omega Aqua Terra.

I bought a Hulk LV Bezel for my 116610LN watch new from an AD! So now I have both the traditional Black & Green variations at my disposal with the same watch! Costs some real cash for the LV Bezel, but it’s worth it in my opinion, without having to upgrade to a Cermit/Starbucks…
I love my Kermit and walked in to a shop and bought it in 2010 brand new. When you could do. I even got a discount. I paid cash 3.5k.

Hulk because it was my first luxury watch and my wife (who knows nothing about watches but neither did I really when I bought it) picked it out because she loved the color and it stood out. That was 2013, and years later it's still my favorite in my collection for sentimental reasons. Who knew it would become a collector's piece? Lucky me.

hi hello i have Rolex Kermit bought it in 2009 and still is the best in my opinion as the case shape is more elegant and suite the bracelet in compatible design .
Taste is always tricky and often subjective IMHO. Maybe that’s why we have buyers and sellers or bid & offer in our world of endless products and commodities, etc. One man’s meat is another man’s poison? I had the classic black sub…sold it and bought the Hulk. Still loving it. Fortunately we all have different tastes for things…cannot imagine us all having the same girlfriend, wife, car, house….😱watches.
I like calling the new one the Starbucks.
Great videos, managed to buy a hulk just before discontinuing the model as a investment to sell on But having owned and worn it I’d have to really have to need to sell it to part with it . The Hulk is a watch that has presence yet is completely comfortable to wear , I love it.
Of course hulk is best. Sun burst dial is always better than plain black, and ceramic is superior to aluminum bezel. Simple choice, no brainer.
For myself, a green watch would be nice to maybe match a shirt or outfit....but when we are talking 10k++++ for a watch, I want the color to go with everything; so black/grey kinda deal. I prefer the new kermit I guess as I wouldn't want a scratching bezel and less than 70 hours reserve seems like a pain. But at no point would I ever entertain a green watch at these kinda price points. I am hoping to get a Tudor 925 assuming that may actually be obtainable at some point; we shall see.
Maybe it is because I have the Hulk but it's the blockier 40mm oyster case I like the most.
You ought to do this same video with your seamaster 300, the flat dial ceramic, and the OG bond 2531.80.
I’m not one to plug a company but it shows ‘paid promotion’ works.....I picked up a Planet Ocean from Cronext the other week and I’m chuffed to bits. I saw them advertised n your video a month or so back and checked them out. The company is spot on with the buying process etc. And the watch is brilliant.

Awesome video. It’s weird... I thought the new Kermit was bland but since I got one (retail) I’ve fallen hard for it! 💚 The case and bracelet really changes how it fits on the wrist and the more mature refined black dial with green bezel is also special.

preciousmetals168 thought it was bland based on images online. Never had the chance to hold it in the hand and that’s crucial when buying a watch. I also feel for retail and close to retail the subs are great. For the market value I don’t think they’re so great because price DOES have a factor in liking or disliking something.
@@BarkandJack I got the first one to arrive at the AD ( I wasn't a VIP client, had in fact only bought one watch from them). Didn't like it, too bland as Emkwan says, and I thought I really would.
The Kermit is class unlike the hulk which is just obnoxious but that’s just my opinion
Agree 100% The second a saw the new Kermit, I saw that they corrected all the thing I didn't like about the Hulk and my love for the submariner came back after 10 years since the 16610. The King is dead long live the King !

I saw it 2003 in the window of jewelers in München. It was under 4000 Euros if I remember correctly.
I saw it recently for between 25000 and 31000 Euros.
I'm not a fan of green either, but I'm a fan of both the Kermits. The Hulk is just too much green. But it looked awesome on a dude in a light gray whit pin strip suit
OG Kermit Bezel is the one. The green is outstanding. The new bezel just looks green for no reason, not a special green.
The Hulk retailed at £5000 when it came out in 2010 then Rolex put the price up 3 times in 18 months to £6050
