Also, watching your video makes me glad I kept my original M-6 Guardian from 2006. I don’t use the incandescent bulbs anymore, instead, every few years I just upgrade with an LED drop-in module with the newest CREE (or other) emitter. Still, 6xCr123s costs a fortune to operate even with an efficient emitter. I use a cheaper Streamlight with rechargeable for actual use. The Surefire is more of a collector item from the “Golden Age” of Surefire+Paul Kim.
I was in the Marine Corps, we had surefires. I am a firefighter and deputy, we have surefires. I also know they are very reliable, I shot the end of one of my lights one night and it still worked.
Not sure what military branch you were in, but the Surefire flashlight I have now was the one issued to every Marine in my unit. I understand your argument at price but the China knock off stuff lacks quality control in the batteries, led lights etc. Lumens have been proven exaggerated as well. Even though you say components of a flashlight is simple which is true, those few components are drastically affected by quality which affects the amount of light you will actually get and longevity of product life. For the average emergency use China knock-offs would be fine for anyone based on price. But if the light is needed as a part of your job where failure or lack of product support is not an option you have to pay the premium for a reason.
+Steve Bledsoe If America still strong like 10, 20 years ago, you can sell a surefire for 20000$ and i just STFU. Please don't forget. Aimerica is going DOWN. Military fund is cutting DOWN. So if using 1/10 fund, can finish of 85% jobs. Risking only 3/100 chance of failure. You know the answer. BTW, military using surefire, only because of ”Supporting American company acts", Not because surefire is good quality. Like most of police department in US today, using American car....(we all know japanese crap is better, and save tax money...WTF WTF WTF WTF....100 TIMES..carry on.....
I have seen a video from Irak vet. He showed his G2X (200 Lumen version) flashlight and said he used it in Irak and kept it used it for 10 years and it still works. But I still think SF is overpriced. What I dont like about SF the they build the body to slim that you cant run them on 18650ies. They want you to buy and use their CR123 batteries. But you also can run them on 16650ies. They dont tell you about this and dont sell any 16650ies rechargable batteries.
OK,i wash car! vary good grass hopper! where i live lots of military and police own and use surefire light, and i have about three of them and they have never failed me,in the rain/snow/under water they always work, and that alone is worth the price and piece of mind i pay for,and now they work even better because of LED tect. thanks and take care.
You my friend earn a subscription from me I collect flashlights but I'll never buy a surefire why cause too damn expensive I believe the surefire is for the rich I'm satisfied with my thrunite brand, thorfire, soonfire, soon I'll have nitecore olight armytek Klarus and etc. My goal is too own every brand besides surefire maybe I'll just order some keychain light from surefire but scared that be my rent money anyways good video
this vid is a complete failure: surefire is used by law enforcement and military personal surefire is reliable surefire has flashlight with high outputs - they never said that law enforcement and military personal are using exclusively surefire product and nothing else --> so you lied - they never said that their lights are more reliable than others and surefire is reliable --> so you lied - they never said that there no other lights with higher outoput than surefire flashlight and surefire has flaslights with around 1000 lumens, which one would consider as a high output --> so you lied again... If you are trying to talk down surefire flashlights, you need to put more effort in it. Everything you said is just your opinion and you failed to prove it with "hard facts". From my POV, you are the liar!
+Jeenius IAMa i see. you working for surefire right? I have 500 surefire lights, from the PK Paul to todays crap. I have experiences more than anyone working in surefire company today. How long you have surefire?
+TK11R2 Unless you are a disgruntled former employee who stole 500 lights from the company, or a competitor who has bought everyone he can to learn all their secrets, then what possible reason could there be for you to own 500 Surefire lights?
What the fuck is guy taking about? this guy certainly wasnt in any US Military unit. i never heard of Surefire lights till i got into my Unit 10 years ago. Every rifle had a surefire weapons mounted light with IR filters, every single joe got issued a surefire polymer light at that time they didn't have LED bulbs though. i have also never had any of the knock off brands but i tell you. When i look for a budget light i to to streamlight and even their lights havent been as reliable as my sirefire lights. shit i have used my Surefire lights to hammer shit.
+lifted Vandal ask any vet in the NAVY have any surefire before. you can argue my point about a stupid flashlight, but you can NOT take a man's honor away.
+TK11R2 what are you saying? i don't get it. So you're saying the navy never gave out surefire lights? well obviously they didn't. they never did raids in Iraq or Afghanistan. they never had to kick a door down deep inside enemy teritory. Because every Marine and US Army personnel i met had sure fire. every unit issues surefire. i was actually convinced you were crazy. i don't mean to offend you. But in my 10 years and 3 combat tours 3 different theaters, we had Surefire weapons lights, surefire helmet lights and surefire regular lights
Someone below said "chinese knock offs",I hope you don't mean Nitecore,Fenix,Olight,Thrunite ,Eagletac..because the lights from these brands are the real deal.I personaly have no intention to help any high management from Surefire to retire and leave in a gated community in Florida playing golf every day because of you know.."capitalism".
I don't even care much for most of the surefire product line but your arguments are silly. You're basically making the claim that because YOU didn't see but 2-3 of them in YOUR command, then that's proof that they're not 'military' lights. Well, even without researching the specific military groups and departments which DO use Surefire products... your logic is flawed. All one has to do to refute your notion is to show that even one military unit or department uses a significant number of Surefire products. You would do well to take a freshman level philosophy or debate class. Surefire never seriously claims to be the ONLY military light, or the MOST reliable, or the HIGHEST output. These are simply marketing terms that every manufacture likes to toss around. Is there really no concept of hyperbolic language in Asian culture?
There is a huge difference between my surefire lights and my foreign made ones. My nitecore MH40 is a great light. 1000 lumens, cheap for the output, and decent construction. It's not built like a surefire. Why do you hate America? Do you hate being able to do whatever you please, whenever you please? I'm gonna go strap 15 surefire lights to my AR15 and be tactical as f*** for the rest of the day. Carry on.

They did not lie, as this was once true. It's just that the Chinese have become that much better.
