    solid video very good tips that are great for mp
    a couple other brief things(if you covered them and I forgot I apologize in advance)
    - consolidate as much as you can always, shift + k if you want to keep the regiments. Your troops will deal less damage and take more if they aren't consolidated. Always consolidate when assaulting a fort.
    - use event timings in wars or plan to use them before a war(20% morale from level 3+ land maintenance, level 3+ disc advisor +10% disc, army reform, mission or specific country events quality bonuses)
    - tech timings are massive as well, at tech 6 a nation with half the troops can beat a nation at tech 5, biggest techs are 4, 6, 12 and 15 for the early game. One of the most common new player mistakes is taking a couple mil ideas at tech 5 instead of saving for tech 6 ahead of time and getting run down by a veteran player. Cav techs are also absolutely insane for cav nations, tech 8 cav can win 3 v 1s against strong opponents
    - if you can afford it or know you are gonna be fighting a tough war, invest in a good fort line
    - take corruption in a war after you have exhausted other sources of cash and pay it off as much as you can afford without bankrupting while at peace. It can be the difference between winning and dying, but corruption long term is absolutely horrible for your nation since it increases autonomy and gives all powers cost so getting rid of it is worth taking loans. It's often worth it to bankruptcy pay it off if you have to while at peace if you are at 20+ corruption
    - even if you benefit in a war in terms of land, keep in mind your relative strength after the war. For example, 2 stronger nations near you are rivals and hostile to each other, both offer you majority of the land in a war to fight the other. You choose one, but have to take the brunt of the fight and now are in a much weaker state despite gaining land while the other has eliminated a rival and weakened a potential enemy in you. You are then at his mercy and he may backstab you or just continue to outscale you. It would be better to allow them to 1 v 1 and then vulture the loser, while the winner is weakened.
    - Practice your 1444 start for the first 10 years or so. This is massive in terms of understanding how fast you scale, how strong ai is, and what the best opening decisions are. It is even more important if you have an early int war you need to practice(arguably the biggest factor is a good opener in an 1444 int war)

    The cat really loves the keyboard, or maybe its you? Cats are amazing.
    I got a couple things that make MP sessions not very appealing to me. Just watched a vid where Zlevikk juggled around 3 million Soldiers in over 70 stacks. Kind of insanity and certainly not fun. And one late reinforce might collapse your whole front. Granted he's probably one of the best players.
    Battles until the first world war lasted only one or a couple days. So getting in reinforcements where near to be impossible. They had to be in the range.
    So careful planning played the major role. The Prussians at Waterloo were late because they were attacked. But one of the most important battles in history lasted only one day. It was 73.000 on French side and 118.000 on Allied side. with roughly 60.000 killed or wounded.
    Battles you see in MP could not be happened at the time the game is suited. There was simply no economy to supply these huge numbers of Soldiers or create their equipment. That said, Have you ever tried to move 3 million Soldier through mountainous regions ? Not gonna happen...
    So not only these troops can force march over months (should be one province only) they are generally way to fast and never run into supply problems, even if they wander 10,000 km from Moscow to Beijing. Before the invention of railways simply impossible.
    Enough ramblings, the way EU4 is balanced in MP really need a overhaul.You are forced to stick to the Meta data and do what all other do, just faster if you really want to survive. Wars are lost because one or both sides run out of Soldiers or money. I really can not see that in EU4 MP. Troop numbers are insane. Geography play almost no role, lets go with 100.000 man through the Sahara. Or through the Caucasus region. All fine and dandy. Heh Germany tried that in 1943 and failed with the methods and material of that time. You can hold a pass with a few thousand soldier against a army.
    I really appreciate your and the other streamers videos especially named Zlevikk. They are good and entertaining.
    Still i think MP in EU4 is utterly broken and reduced to sit on a fort with 500.000 man and occasionally drop another 50k stack into over half a year or more.
    There is no tactic depth to this. Its a timing and resource problem. Therefore the one wo runs out of reinforcements usually lose this fight.
    PS: sorry for the wall of text :D TLDR ^^

      completly agree with you, had this mp a little bit ago as france, i made this massive 65k strong army in 1670 i was so proud. i attacked the austrian player for loraine, then i see 120k cross the alps and obliterate me. in no way could i see that actually happening.
      plus painting all of africa in 70 years? what about malaria and disease, or the thousands of cultures that would rise up, or the logistics of collecting tax in the middle of the congo.
      it sucks lobbies with people who think the same are surprisingly hard to find but map painting lobbies are around every corner.

    • @Arexsis
      @Arexsis Před 2 lety +1

      To answer the shift consolidate question, it's because troops fight better when at full strength AND only so many men can fight - by Shift Consolidating every day you're reinforcing the army to full strength after each damage tick rather than letting battle end in a loss immediately.
      Shift consolidate, if anyone (or you) doesn't know makes it so you don't remove units when you merge them, you just transfer men over from one to another to make a bunch of full troops and a bunch of empty troops that will reinforce every month tick

    Great video Habibi! I recently had my first MP lobby which turned out quite decent. I will definitely be applying the tips here that I didn't apply then. A question for you, during that gameplay, I tried focusing on advisors, even going to an early 3/5/5 even while using quite a big chunk of my economic profit. By doing so I could develop quite a lot but later I felt that it took me too long to get a strong amount of buildings down, specially manufacturies in my main trade nodes. I considered an intentional bankruptcy, but the diplomacy was too unstable to do safely. Should I have cut down a bit on advisors to keep a decent amount of buildings in constant production? Basically, if you have any tips on how to balance the advisor use vs building contruction. Thanks a lot, love your videos and stream!

    • @AbsoluteHabibi
      @AbsoluteHabibi  Před 2 lety +4

    I'm kind of torn on the drilling comment. I used to feel the same way, and while the bonus you get for the troops you're specifically drilling only lasts a battle or two, the boosts you get from professionalism are quite worth it (at 100% professionalism you get 10% land fire, 10% shock, 20% siege ability, -15% merc cost +15% merc manpower, -50% general cost +100% dril gain modifier -50% regiment drill loss) You also get a chance of your general that is drilling getting a bonus random pip every so often. I also don't think its worth it to do, but you can sacrifice a bit of your professionalism to recover a bunch of extra manpower as well.
    I can agree that the monarch points are super crucial to the dev meta and you need to have money to get the best advisors, but when you have an economy I don't think drilling your armies should be that difficult to afford. Even with elite regiments enabled.

    • @AbsoluteHabibi
      @AbsoluteHabibi  Před 2 lety
