Good list bro. I totally agree with you on the best possible card for gaming. I purchased a RX 7900 XTX for $969.99 but it was the Sapphire Nitro+ version and I would argue that it's crazy overkill for gaming. My logic for buying the card was that it's going to last a long time. I do not see myself having to upgrade much in the foreseeable future. I built my sister a machine with the 4090, but similar to what you said, it is worth it because she works in architecture design, and her computer system is what generates her income. So a new i9 and a 4090 paid for itself very quickly (Although I should note her company pitched in). But otherwise there's no justification for purchasing that card for gaming.
Class video though man. Your build videos helped me out several times and I regularly watch them (even if I hate your case selection, lol). Thanks for everything and have happy and safe Xmas and New Years!
I've been with my GTX1080 so long that I'm ashamed to even look at anything else. We are practically married.
Imma pin this. Congrats.
Same! going on 5 years strong! My GTX 1080 STILL KICKING!
I’m also on gtx 1080, I think i need at least 7800xt to replace it?
do the XTX or just wait a couple months for the new SUPERS to drop.@@tomschannel1568
Same boat Gtx 1080 its a champ
Just wanted to say, I got all the parts for my first PC (I’m having to hold off on actually building it because I’m sick), and you and Jason from PCBuilder were instrumental in my decision making, you basically are the reason I got a 7800XT, even though the rest of YT doesn’t like it.
You two are the only guys I truly found helpful and to not have off-putting personalities, learning about this stuff is intimidating, and tech people tend to not make that any better.
Sorry for the novel, but I appreciate you, God bless.
That’s what we’re here for! I think the rest of the YT tech community was really into the 7800 XT too.
Grats, Will say 7800XT is a great card, have one in my spare rig. It's solid 1440P, better than the 3060 12gb visually, and OCs nicely on its own (have the Gigabyte OC model). 16gb vram is a good amount. Problem with competing 4070 is that 12gb vram.
yeah brother, I just built my new PC as well with a 7600x cpu and 7800xt last week, feels actually good coming from a nvidia i7 4th gen and1060 gpu, the people who complain i noticed are probably people who has like 30x series or 6000x series complaining about the current state of GPUs when the 7800xt is in fact better but even if marginally, also 6800 are non-existent to where I am from in the world, i really hate people recommending the 6800 when in fact its only mostly available for cheap in North America...
but the jump from my old gpu to the 7800xt really is a big big difference.
if you bought them locally or from amazon, i’d recommend building the pc soon just incase there are parts that don’t work so you can return them.
Hi brother, congrats on building your new PC. Just wanted to hear, what CPU have you paired with the rx 7800xt? I’m thinking of getting a r7 7700x, though some say it’s an overkill to pair with this GPU. Thanks)
Good to see youre still successful! I remember watching your build guides back when it was FX8350 vs i7-4770k. Awesome vid!
Ive kind of fallen off the tech wagon since 2017 and decided to research. Man i havent seen you in a while, i remember first stumbling across you in 2013 with your budget build series. Nice to see you still around and i hope life is going well man
Dude your videos are getting better and better. Keep up the good work. I’m really enjoying them 👍

Thank you for this video, I was literally deciding to build a budget gaming PC, and one of the biggest headache is always the GPU. But I can now easily decide what to buy. Keep up the good work buddy :)
I’m glad the timing of this video was mint for you!
Went with AMD for the first time in my life. No regrets. The 7900xtx is an absolute beast (even in 4K)
I got this coming tomorrow, went from an rx580, had my 6700xt for about 2 days and I'm sending it back and going big.
Oh wow!
I have the XFX 7900xtx, such a beast I agree
Also I fell in love with adrenaline software it’s miles above nvidias software, just made chance a couple months ago
bro said "even in" its literally a 4k gpu lol
I just missed out on the 6800 for black Friday but I was lucky enough to snag one for 389 locally in store! Looking forward to putting it in my new build. Great vid!
Not bad! Enjoy!
I bought a zotac 3060 12gb for $250 on newegg in early November.
Also got a 6650xt msi for $219 around the same time.
Got a 5600x cpu for 120 on black friday.
Waiting for after xmas sales to bulk up on more tech.
This video came just in time!!! Recently upgraded my PC and managed to upgrade from a B350M/Ryzen 3 2200G to a B550M and a Ryzen 5 5600X for about 170€, your tier lists were a huge help!
Im looking for a new GPU as well to upgrade my 1060 6gb, i think the Arc 750 might just be what i need.
Keep up the amazing job, hope 2024 brings you much joy :D
Buy rtx 2080ti
I just got a B550 and 5600 with a 6700 xt. It smashes games on 1080p and i'm sure 1440p if you have one.
Don't lie to him bro... @@walllec
It depends on what kind of PSU you have atm, you could get an RX 6700 (either the rare non-XT 10gb or the XT 12gb) in the used market for 1080p ultra, or even high 1440p. If you want an nVidia counterpart, you could get an RTX 3060 ti which is slightly worse in raw performance (and less effective VRAM) but better at DLSS and ray tracing. But of course such features are not for everyone.
And before you jugdge just by VRAM, you have to consider that nvidia has better memory compression algorithm making it like 20 or 25% more effective. Just check some benchmarks to see which GPU suits better your needs
@@agustinpaiva8566 never buy amd shit, it does not work. For 2080ti and 75w cpu you are good with 450w power suply
I got the XFX Speedster RX6800 just before it went out of stock on newegg at just $370! Bought it right after watching one of your recommendation videos.
I am yet to have the full PC built, as Ill be getting both my ram and my SSD tomorrow. Can't wait to have it ready to play.
Brilliant!
did have till I got a RTX4080 way better@@ScatterVolt
I started watching you from two days ago as i am going to build a pc too so your videos are really helpful Thank you so much!
I have a request can you make a video about how to assemble all of the parts and mainly plugging all the wires onto the motherboard it feels so scary that i might mess up and end up never ruining my first ever pc build!(i dont know if you have already made a video about that or not)
Literally browse my channel and you will find pc builds lol
@@ScatterVolt yes after i made that comment i went through your pc build playlist and watched a lot of them thank you
Have to wonder if 6700XT stock is starting to dry up. Presently, a lot of the sku's are OOS everywhere and only a couple (Sapphire Pulse and XFX Swift) seem to be available.
The sleeper card no one mentions in the $200-$300 price range is the RX6700 non-XT. Kind of obscure and hard to find but they're out there.
So far in the US they look to be holding up, but with the rumored RX 7600XT arriving soon, I have no doubts the 6700XT will finally see its time come up.
As for the 6700, they’re very sparse on Newegg and Amazon US if not extinct so that’s why I’m mostly glossing over that card in these videos.
@@ScatterVoltwhere did you see 7600 XT rumor bro? Last time i seen that rumour is before 7700/7800 launch and then never see any update again. I think if it's soon enough (like 1 month) we probably would have some kind of "unofficial" confirmation or performance target (like nvidia super leaks).
Hey ScatterVolt may not remember me I asked about the 7800 XT a little while back, but I have built my new pc and it works magnificently. Thank you very much for the helpful videos keep up the good content mate. 🍻
Picked up a 6800 non xt for 379 on newegg after amazon seemed to be out of stock for 369 during black friday, but its honestly such an upgrade from my 1660ti and very pleased with the performance. Sad to know its basically gone from the buying pool for others wanting to upgrade, idk where else you can get this level of bang for buck for 1440p gaming unless from the used market. Anyways great vid 👍
That was the best time to get it! Missing out on a $10 discount shouldn’t sting. It’s now gone haha.
Is the 6800 discontinued or something?
@mirmahadi8646 ME TOO! Literally bought it for $370 on newegg just over a week ago
Agreed. I picked up a reference model (since my mini-ITX case is picky), paired it up with a Ryzen 5 7600 and it's a super solid, super overkill, 1080p setup. Couldn't be happier! 😊
That's really cool ! Did you get the xfx version tho ?
Newegg had the MSI 3060 12gb Ventus for as low as $240 for a very short time. I got mine for $269 with $20 rebate. It has since gone back up to $289.
I wish they were
I have already bought the Intel Arc A750 same one you showed, reason being I wanted a third option instead of the usual two, but I am pairing up with the 7600x willing to give Intel Arc a try.
goat
Sounds like a good pairing on 1080p ultra competitive scenarios. :)
So I thought I had a grasp on what I wanted to build and I thought it was a great design. As I'm watching your videos (and growing my tech knowledge), I've changed my GPU and CPU like 12 times now LMAO. But I've definitely improved the design and now I'm 110% sure its gonna kick ass and do EXACTLY what I want. Your videos are excellent.
I really appreciate your content man, keep it up!
I’ll try! Thank you!
Hi, concering your 600 dollar pc build Im just wondering concerning the ARC, I read online that using the psu splitter off of 1 cable is dangerous, especially with this since it tdps at 225w. With the psu you reccomended, would the splitter for the 8 + 6 pin work?
Perfect timing Marc, great vid 🙏🏻
Thank you Doc
I have a 5700x with a 3050 which is a terrible combo i know. What would you recommend i pair my cpu with?
Copped a 7600 for 240 bones. Really happy with it.
Question: is it worth buying a 4070ti super/non super or a used 3090? Used 3090 around me costs ~750 dollars, but a 4070ti currently on sale is minimum 1050 dollars. Is it best to get a cheap graphics card until the release of the super variants? Sadly can’t go with amd because I’m gonna be using blender, and I have heard horror stories about amd and blender not cooperating :(
My comments on the rumored 4070Ti stand as they do from what I described in the video if you made it to that point in the video.
Used 3090s are nice though. It’s got double the vram of a 4070Ti which will really help out in blender. No frame generation though.
Would you recommend getting the 7800xt hellhound for $529 or the red devil for $559 also would these cards work with a evga 650 bronze psu or should I upgrade?
I'm little confused with all these versions like gigabyte, sapphire etc. Is 7900xtx that you showed in the video is the best of all other versions ?
Am back to loving my 7900XTX though I think 7800XT would be fine for a lot of people. Am at max in WoW mostly waiting for Avatar code but great GPU. Avatar is supposed to be eatting 16gb of vram but will see when I get to play it.
7800XT/4070 is the most any pc gamer should get realistically.
Please do another with a triple monitor recomendation. Including Eyefinty and Nvidia sorround software...
I am running three 144hz 1ms 1080p monitors
With an RTX 3090ti.
I'm thinking about upgrading my graphics card soon currently using a Radeon RX 7600 and it's pretty good.
Really? Why so?
Hey there just wondering what would be a good option to get for around 300$ with an i7-10700f. (I’m currently rocking a gtx 1660Ti
Should I wait for rx 7600 xt to come out? Right now I have a 1650
My guess is that AMD purposefully kept the 7700xt price high so that the 6800's would sell. I got a 6800 on black Friday and couldn't be happier with the purchase.
I’d have to agree with this thinking actually, but AMD forever tainted 7700XT reviews by not pricing the card accurately at launch
Should i buy a rx7800xt and ryzen 5 7500f or because of future the rx7900xt? Would be in wqhd a noticable bottleneck between ryzen 5 7500f and rx7900xt? Or would be the best choice rx7900xt and ryzen 77800x3d? I got some money but of course i want to keep it cheap, what would you guys thin?
Im going to build my own pc (upgrading from a laptop) and im going to use a r5 7600 so i was wondering do i go for a 6700xt or is there a better option like the 4060ti maybe???
Should i get a 6650 xt or 3060 for gaming and a bit of video editing ( clipping )??
I've been wondering which of these cards to choose for several days. I have i7 8700k. I just want to upgrade my computer a bit. I will not change the processor, because I will assemble a new computer only for the premiere of GTA 6 on PC. I would like this computer to serve me for another 3 years. Then I will give it to my father so that he can play better games, because he uses i5 3470 and gtx 1050 ti. Any advice on which graphics card should I choose? My resolution is 1440p.
Picked up a 6700xt for $299. Very happy with it.
Amazing!
Whats your advice for budget build to get atleast 200 fps on medium to high settings on cs2? I only play 1 game. Sometimes Minecraft and roblox with my lil sis but not priority.
The RTX 3060 12GB did go on sale on cyber Monday on Newegg. I got the MSI ventus version for $273 after tax (including $20 rebate). Absolute steal
yeah wanted a 3080ti hard to get at a good price
Maybe it's because I was looking at a white version of the 7800xt, the asroxk oc triple fan card is on pcpart picker listed at 754 usd. I'm torn lol, do I get that or do I wait for newer gpus to drop then buy all my parts.
Just got a 7900 xtx sapphire pulse for 890 for my first pc build and goddamn is it amazing. i think im good for atleast 5 years lmao
Thank you for your video. I just changed my 1650super to ryzen5600 + 6700xt.
Hey mate, keep up the great work! Still rocking a system from lockdown days featuring a 3400G hahaha. Looking for some cheap cards but don't have the budget 😂
Not even the two sub $100 options from this video are in your budget?
@@ScatterVoltnah haha I'm not old enough to have a job yet and I've upgraded my SSD for now to the MP600 since I didn't really have any space left on my drive!

@@ScatterVolt nah they all sold their old ones lmao most of them have 4070s
Which is the best graphic card for streaming, under $400? My cpu is a 5700x
wait, so the a580 is faster and cheaper than a rx6600 but you would recommend it over the intel GPU?
Hey man, I really love this video, I’m in the market for a new gpu to replace my GTX 1070, and the 7800XT is what caught my eye because my GPU is the last thing that needs upgrading in my pc now, however it recommends a 700w psu and I have a 650w, some people say that they’ve had 0 problems with the card on a 650 but I’m not sure what to do as 700 is recommended, what would you recommend?
You'll be fine as long as you aren't planning on overclocking the GPU or the CPU in your pc
how would you rank a rx 6950 xt for 600$? better or worse deal, than the 7800 xt?
It’s hard to get an Rx 6700 XT now here in Ireland. It’s like 400 and over most places now, so I’ll probably wait until the RX 7600 XT releases.
Noted
Would you say that a refurbished 4060ti for £330 is a great deal? I’ve noted 😅 that your strongly against the 4060ti for bad price to performance however, it’s working great for me as I’m mostly play low demanding games like apex.
I’m unsure as I don’t follow the UK market much 😅
That memory though is just cruel for a GPU that costs that much
7600 is a great gpu, im really happy i got it. runs basically any game at max settings in 1080p
Good deal!

Hey i have a question ! Can you load rx 6600 xt bios on a rx 6600, just like you can do on a rx 5700 to get rx 5700 xt performance ? thx !
I tried buying gpus from Ali express but they keep canceling because of “customs fees.” How much do they cost and I’m trying to get the rx5700xt from the white pc build you made a bit ago and if I can’t get it from Ali express where do I get it? What’s the cheapest but best new rx5700xt?
Came across a 6900xt for $390. Should I pull the trigger, or wait and save for something next gen? Im still rocking my 1080ti.
just get the 6900. thats a great price for the performance you'll get. it still has about 5 years of software update so you wont need to upgrade for a while.
You got it SkatterVolt, liked 🤘
You should definitely make one for mini itx boards
That’s not my territory chief haha
Hey man, I was wondering if you had heard anything about the 'RoboCop Rogue City' game being 'optimized' for the Intel ARC Graphics Cards, because, you get an Intel Arc Splash Screen when the Game loads?? Thanks
I haven’t heard anything about it. If it’s got an Intel arc logo on game boot up then it’s a safe bet it’s probably well optimized.
I hope that helps.
I snagged a 4060 ti 8gb for 329 on Black Friday. Still isn’t amazing value compared to some AMD options, but its way better than the $400+ that NVIDIA is trying to sell it for.
That’s better than most 4060s so that’s alright
Why am addicted to ur videos, thats my first question question, the second question, i miss the sunglasses
I think they’re just good videos haha
I don’t know what to get 4070 or RX 7800 OR wait and save for the 4070 TI SUPER. I all I do is game but I want to play on 1440p with good fps. Any suggestions?
I’m in the process of building a pc. I always used navidia cards. After watching this video I decided to use the 6750 TI. I’ve never used an amd card. I didn’t want to spend more than $500 dollars on a GPU. Thank you for your recommendation.
Let’s goooo another scattervolt video
Let’s gooo, another chemist comment lol
Hi man, I've recently discovered your YT channel and it's lit! I've a question tho. Ive build a PC myself, with an Intel Core i7-12700K CPU Boxed and a motherboard from ASUS ROG STRIX B760-A GAMING. My question towards you is, what GPU would have been the most suitable in the range from 300-450$/€
Ive seen in your videos you seem to enjoy the RXs but does this work with Intel as well?
Would be nice if you let me know.
Have a nice one!
Radeon GPUs will work the same in any system you throw them in, no matter the brand.
Scattervolt channel signing out hits different after seeing the 10 year video.

Love your content bro
Thank you!
I got my new XFX RX6700 (non XT) for a bit more than 250$ and it's a total beast
we actually had the 3060 12gb on sale during BF for around $300cad which is around $220usd. Would have thought that there would have been a sale for that price in the states. I would say the 7700xt needs to be $350 to be worth considering
Which Canadian retailer actually?
@@ScatterVolt canada computers had the gigabyte 3060 for $300 during Bf. It was overlooked by many but it was posted over on reddit and it actually sold really well during that time.
That's a nice deal then actually. Thanks for filling me in!
I've been shopping for a new GPU since the summer to move on from my 3060ti. Been eyeing the 4070ti for the longest but The Super edition of the cards are just too intriguing too even partake with all the good discounts the 4070ti has received during and after Black friday. I've lasted thing long on pulling the trigger. What is another few months? I just hope the cards do not disappoint with no major issues and will be somewhat reasonable pricing. I do wonder how the pricing of the 4070ti will change in the next few months.
Hey man, the 7900 XT is a great option, or even the 7900 XTX. Those cards have the vram you’re looking for potentially in the super series editions.
excellent video, useful, honest info and very entertaining.
Thank you!
Guys, I want to make my first build soon with 7700xt and I wanted to ask an advice about gpu fans. So should I pay 30-50€ more for that triple fan Rx7700xt (for example “hellhound”) or should I save up and go for the sapphire, double fan, one? Will there be noticeable temperature change if I choose 3 fan gpu, is it worth it?
Shouldn’t matter. You can always undervolt if you need cooler temps.
Is ASRock Phantom Gaming Arc A770 a good GPU? I was hoping to see it on the top :c I got it because there other one was out of stock.
What do you want me to tell you that’ll make you feel comfortable lmao.
It’s an A770.
What do you think of a 4060ti 16gb for gaming also vr
Been able to get 1080 and 1080ti as well as arc 750 and 6600 as low as 100$ no more than 150 locally
Considering the sub $300 cards in Canada only have 4 gigs of VRam? I will be buying from aliexpress.
Got me a 4070 for 550 hope I don't regret it after the super series get announced
You’ll be fine

Rhetorical question
I found ASRock rx 7800 xt two fan for 550 dollar. What it good or bad. 2 fan vs 3 fan😅
Is be quiet! System Power 10 850 W 80+ Gold Certified ATX Power Supply
A good one ??
With such PSU you can have even a RTX 4090
Been thinking of getting a PowerColor Radeon RX 7800 XT HellHound, or just wait and see if the new nvidia release will be worth the wait. If it's good price to performance, it may be worth waiting, unfortunately Nvidia isn't known for that.
Well you’ve got a month to decide on that! CES 2024 comes up soon.
Me too! Looking to pair it with Ryzen 7700
was able to snag a 6600 from newegg for $160 post tax, pretty sweet deal imo

Welcome back bearded man
I did shave my beard yesterday so I will be clean faced soon haha
Would you recommend 7900XTX for $680 or 7800XT for $430? The prices are low coz I am buying them from a reseller. But they are new and have invoices. 7800XT satisfies my requirements but I don’t mind spending extra for better performance and resale value if that is also there.
Up to you

I still wonder why haven’t this guy gotten minimum 1 mil subs already
It’s alright. Not everyone needs 1 million subscribers to be a “good” creator.
I went with the RX770XT with the 5 7500F!
Is this a good first ever ($1,500 Budget) build I’ve made?
CPU-Ryzen 7 7700 (non-X)
GPU-RX 7800XT
Motherboard-MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk WiFi
Memory-Teamgroup T-Force Delta 32GB (2x16)
SSD-Samsung Pro 980
PSU-Corsair RM750 (2023)
Aftermarket CPU Cooler-ThermalRight Phantom Spirit 120SE
Case-Lian Li Lancool 216 (Black)
That’s roughly what I’m planning to make in a future $1500 pc build guide
Oh nice, thanks!
How do I know what Gpu can go inside my pc because my friend said not all Gpu can go inside any pc
I decided on a 7800xt in my complete rebuild, I would've liked something equivalent to the 4080 but I couldn't afford it. Im coming from a gtx 1080, should I exchange the 7800xt for a different card?
Have you gamed on your 7800xt yet? I’d like to think your doubts should have been erased haha
@@ScatterVolt definitely was worth the investment and feels very future proof!
I saw in newegg a 4060 ti but with 16gb. does that make a noticeable difference compared to the 8gb one?
Look up benchmarks and decide for yourself
I'm a 60-year-old gaming addict whose GTX 1080 10 GB exploded a couple of weeks ago, after a year and a half of use. I've been an avid gamer since PONG, and I've been building my own PCs since the Intel 286 SX. I've never had a video card explode before... but I digress. I'm on a pretty fixed income, and my eyesight is beginning to degrade. I find it almost impossible to distinguish between 4K and 2K with today's current anti-aliasing. I'm looking for a card that won't break the bank, give me a decent gaming experience over the next 3 or 4 years at 60 FPS, and I don't give a shit about raytracing.
Which card do you recommend, and why?
Thank you in advance.
P.S. I'll be playing all my old games - XCOM, Civilization VI, Total War: Medieval II, old school CS, Fallout 1 & 2, etc... - for the next month or so. Not that that is a bad thing. It's one of those things I was looking for an excuse to do anyway. Thank God for integrated graphics.
I picked up a 7900 xt for 660 from Amazon warehouse. It a used return card but at that price it worth it!
Wow
What’s the opinion on the Sapphire Nitro 7800xt? Or any of the 7000 series of Sapphire Nitro cards
They’re the best of their class
Ordered a 7800xt, coming from a 2060 super. Lets see how it goes
You’re doubling the vram so that’ll be nice to have.
The 2060 super is still a really nice card! Why are you upgrading from it?
the 6950 has a bunch of stock in Canada. It was retailing for about $1260 and it's $400 off for about $865. I want a 4070, but seeing a 6950 on sale for $400 off is really tempting.
Dude get the 6950XT without hesitation.
Can't recommend the 6950 enough, just built a PC about a month ago and snagged one for $590 USD. Phenomenal performance and for that price it's simply unbeatable.
how much is the 4070 and how much is the 6950xt?
Memory express had the 6950xt on for $730 on black friday week. Check back on boxing day, maybe it'll go back down again.
Would my CPU and PSU be enough? i5 12400 bought this year. PSU is 4-5 years old. Gigabyte G750H. @@ScatterVolt
