Please please please be careful with those cheap laser cutters/engravers without ventilation!!! It is super easy to create very dangerous chemical fumes if you cut the wrong plastics/materials. Like PVC will create phosgene gas which is really dangerous to inhale! But even “natural” materials will create bad stuff. Even wood and paper create bad compounds you do not want to have linger in your kids home. And then there is the whole risk of accidental reflections potentially blinding bystanders. This is no joke...
I would actually recommend you throw that thing away immediately and buy a proper one with built in shielding and ventilation, and hook it up to vent it outside. You guys can afford to not risk it...

It's by no means a modest lower-middle class way of living but they're also really not living the glamorous high life either, while they likely easily could. They're mostly just living a comfortable, pretty ordinarily well-off life. It's pretty commendable IMO.

@@GetFitEatRight *will be stepping down. Like, sure, it was already planned for months now, if not half a year, but officially, he'll be stepping down in July afaik.
That really is important so I hope Linus moving away from the CEO position will allow the family to take a trip or at least relax the schedule a bit. The few successful businessmen I know get to a point where they really start delegating work to others and moving people up or hiring people on that can take on critical positions within the company. They're still hands on and present but not killing themselves trying to do the work of five competent and productive employees. And they can afford to pay those people adequately so that everyone has a balanced workload and lives comfortably.

I guess it's more about the unreasonable spending. Linus has stated many times that LTT spending big money is ok because of the entertainment value they get from it, but for their personnal life he hates when money is spent unwisely. Really, they needed to do somehting like this. The owner, CFO, and CEO's (at the time) wife getting the upgrade would be at least a little bit of unfortunate PR. I am pretty ocnfidant that Yvonne would never have put herself forward for this under normal circumstances.
However they needed to put their best foot forward for AMD and this is probably the most reliable option for views (at least of those who didn't get an Intel upgrade).
And really, I think they nailed both sides, managing the boss' wife angle and making hte best possible video for AMD.

I absolutely adore Yvonne. I think her slight camera-shyness makes her come off as more grounded, relatable and, ultimately, genuine. The cricket video is one of my all-time faves.
