As an employer who has worked for awful employers I can’t help but smile when I see the relationship Linus has with his employees. The teasing that’s clearly prompted by a healthy relationship. Good job man.
Nicole seems like a delightful human. This was such a peaceful and relaxing watch compared to the other Intel Tech Upgraded.
Not that I don't also love all of the other more eccentric LMG personalities (Taran is probably the closest thing I have to a spirit animal), but this was just a nice cooled down pace.

The stuff is registered and everyone who took it has to sign. There were cases when they were about to shoot some video and needed to take something from a employee house, the inventory guy just pointed out who took it.
I would actually expect everything is asset tagged - LTT is a pro organisation.
That said - pilfering a fridge and not actually using it to refrigerate anything is pretty funny.

Lol, I'm upgrading my PC right now. Was planning 13600k and 7800xt when it released, but got an amazing deal on a 6900xt. I'll be praying for my poor EVGA 850w when putting it together in a week or so.

@@madebyrens I believe that's what the manufacturer recommends. Or at least that's what they recommend for my 6900xt which I assume is similar. However 1 week in and my psu hasn't exploded and it's overclocked so it's probably fiiine lol

Loved this video and loved her setup! Her rig, keyboard and pc all come together into something gorgeous.
I put up a couple of TV mounts lately, and I like to stick a folded post-it note under the hole I'm drilling to catch the debris. It's a pretty simple but very nice way to prevent you from unnecessary cleaning.
Just if it maybe happens that someone find it useful.
These series are really interesting to see what different people value in their setup

mines even worse, i built my computer right as the pandemic hit but didnt get a card because i was trying to save some money for the next gen of cards.....and that didnt happen so im stuck with a 1060 3g but im hoping im able to get lucky and get a 3050 on the 27th

@@IronIsKing that my guy is a total lie, 1,300 dollars is expensive, I only saw a single seller selling it for less than a 1,000.
Best chance for getting anything new at a decent price is to find it in stock in store somewhere (unlikely, was at a Micro center the other day and the only Nvidia GPUs they had were MSI 1050 Ti's, though they did have quite a few in stock 6000 series AMD GPUs, and a single 6900xt ) or an older card off the used market that is still capable (GTX 1080, 1080 Ti, 1070, 980 Ti, R9 390 Fury to name a few that are pretty decent for the price on ebay ) but with those there come other risks. That was the path I was going to take while making my new build but we got super lucky and found an RX 6600 non-xt for msrp.
Also having the R9 390 in the used list might be a bit controversial but you have to remember that while it's actual GPU performs like a 1070 or 1060 most of the time you can't forget the thing has a whole 8GB GDDR5, at least if you look for that version, although if I was looking for a card I'd still go for a 1070.

7:21 This exact same thing happened to me but on the USB ports on not even an old motherboard. It was on my Asus Prime X470 Pro motherboard.
I would love to see video comparing various wifi standards / distances / walls vs cable.
In my professional and practical experience since 802.11ac standard came the wifi is more than good enough for games. It's been 6 years since I stopped using cables, I'm monitoring the network response times and even during larger bandwidth transfers (~400Mbit/s) the latency is around 2ms vs google & cloudflare servers (on optical cable). In my experience its more likely that the router CPU will get overloaded by the crazy network stuff that steam downloads do and that in turn causes issues than wifi itself not being good enough.
@4:05 Nicole, this is important. That there is known as a SLAP lesion. In your case, that's a partial or even a full labrum detachment. That will never "heal" on its own, it will only get worse until fixed through surgery.
The good news is, arthroscopic labrar repair is day surgery, meaning you go home the same day. The less good news is, you'll effectively "have" just one arm for 8 weeks, wear your arm in a sling for 8-12 weeks, and a full, like-new recovery time including training is 4-6 months.
You need to get that fixed. And with the weeks of recovery time and need for help in doing many everyday tasks, I would _highly_ advice getting it done now while you're (still) living with family. If you can, get it done now during the pandemic, so you can process the recovery while our lives are still under "reduced activity". And if you're right-handed, start trying to use your left hand for work and daily life stuff ASAP, and make some things more one-hand friendly if you can - it's gonna be really hard to sort that stuff out if you put all of those things off until after the surgery, and then have to learn to fly after jumping out of the plane.
If you have the option of choice, find a an experienced orthopedic surgeon specializing in athlete injuries (this is a quite common injury in sports so that surgeon will likely have hundreds of these under her/his belt already. I had the same injury and neglected it for years, got the surgery done, but my shoulder will likely stay painful and a bit rough because the years of neglect caused permanent deformation of the joint socket. Don't be like me. Don't put it off, or believe it will heal on its own. Doing that was a big mistake.
Best of luck, I wish you a speedy recovery. It will tske some time and frustration, but it's absolutely worth it 😊
This person is right. They can stay at that "Oh this sucks but it's not that bad" level for years and then one wrong movement and you're in a world of hurt until you can get surgery. It's better to just get the surgery sooner and give yourself a better chance of full recovery.

I'm beginning to think the whole purpose of these upgrades is to give Linus a chance to see what everyone has stolen from the office. And I love how after calling them out he seemingly lets them keep it. Maybe getting to steal from the office is a LMG employment benefit, if so I should totally apply.

@@xxJOKeR75xx Yeah it makes sense that if you are working from home due to Covid you get to take stuff like headphones and whatnot from the company to your home office. And the fridge was probably salvaged from the dumpster.
As someone working in IT: You can steal SO. MUCH. STUFF. Well it's stuff that gets written off because it's more than three years old, but a barely used 5000$ UPS ist still good as new after a 300$ battery swap, so yeah, we take a lot of stuff home.

As a person who lives in Vancouver, I have no clue how she was able to get some of the stuff she did. The GPU was company bought, I get it but that Gundam monitor is near impossible to find especially in December

Still have my old Dell Latitude D630 laptop even though I have MUCH more advanced hardware now. I don't get rid of any electronics if they still work. Seeing that older laptop in the video reminded me of it.
11:18 what i look for in motherboards are: 2 or more m.2 slots, 4 sata slots, 6+ rear i/o usb slots, aesthetics, fan headers, rgb. most are fairly similar that it pretty much comes down t0 slots, looks, and headers.

Nothing wrong with spending a buck on the monitor. I'm still sporting a similar-priced monitor (NEC 24" 2470WNX) from 2007, and it still looks and works great! It's a more design/web development monitor, rather than gaming, but it's not like it lags in games either.

apparently it was all pretense. once he started digging, he didn't care much whose room it was. he picked up her nail clipper with the awesome backstory like it was his bud's.
What should he have done?
At one point I had to put a 970 Jetstream from palit in a optiplex 990 mini-tower. I had to cut the sheathing on the sata cables so they could bend enough to go under. Worked out pretty well in the end though.
