Hey, thank you for the awesome video, I create VR content on CZcams and I'm looking to upgrade from a 3060TI to that awesome 4070ti super for that sweet 16gb Vram, just super expensive, do you recommend any other graphics card for VR?
So for anyone who is knew to these pc stuff and is confused let me tell you. I absolutely hated how "complicated" Pcs used to be but after i started watching about it for a couple of months I enjoy making Pcs more than actually playing sometimes.
What do you think could have made these videos seem “less complicated” when you were first starting out?
@@ScatterVolt I think its because I didn't understand a lot of factors regarding the components and the difference, Ex- Vram,Cl in rams, cores and threads Motherboards etc. But all the videos are very straight forward and if one wants to get in the stuff and its not at all complicated
I'm pretty sure a 10 mins video regarding all pc components is easy to learn unless They are a boomer like me
Hmmm. I should make a "pc parts explained for dummies" video and just channel my inner gen z to help simplify all of the terms.
@@ScatterVolt not just a parts for dummies, but a "how the computer works," for dummies.
Explain things in real world terms.
As someone who has had to teach everyone around me, I find things like..."your processor speed is the speed of a schoolbus, the front side bus/bus-on-a-gpu is how many people can fit in the door at the same time, and your ram is how many seats you have.
Your hdd is like the destination.
Etc etc.
Real world really helps people more than, "well, I got 32 gigs of cl30 6000mhz for my 14600k om a mid range board." 😂
Perfect timing I was literally putting together my parts list. Love the content!!
Excellent! Feel free to use my affiliate links in the descriptions if you want to help me out a little 🤗
The rx 7900xtx received a price decrease so u can get it for like a 100 bucks less than the 4080 supee now, incase u were to spend a good amount on the graphics cards, id suggest the rx 7900xtx
I lucked out when the mining boom crashed. A guy bought so many XFX RX 6800 Quicks (Merc cooler without RGB) just before the crash and needed the money back quickly, sold them for insanely good price 270 EUR incl VAT (around 300 bucks). The cards were basically new this was a great value, bought one for myself and also brother and cousin.
I think the best GPU overall right now is at your nearest Microcenter: RX 6950 XT for $549. Sure it's the last gen, but it's the high-end card that still gets you 4K and high 1440p gaming performance, and it's founder's edition (new). The only possible downside is the TDP requirement, it is recommended to get a 1000W PSU.
7800xt gang wya
Easily the best price for performance right now
I got a sapphire pure 7800xt team red ftw 💯
We here!!!
Here ✋
@@headphonesz6527 can I pair a 7500f with this gpu? And is it a good combo?
I love this mans videos. Hes always in a good mood and explains everything so well. Please keep making more vids
Thank you!
Last year the 7600 briefly hit around $220usd and the 3060 as well. They were great prices at that point but prices are not so great now. 7700xt briefly hit below $360 which it should have been
No way. What retailer?
@@ScatterVoltthe 7600 briefly hit $303cad on Amazon here in canada and it was the Rog strixx model too. The Asus model with starfield was $310 as well so that puts it in the $220-230usd price point. Was hoping that would be a sign of things to come. Sadly, it’s not the case in 2024
7600 hit 189 for a few days but only at microcenter around the time of prime day.
@@ScatterVolt Newegg about a week about had some pricing errors with some AIBs on the 7700 xt (one of 2 was Hell AIB) around 353$ and was very limited in stock. This was around 4-7 am est which is often when pricing errors occur and Amazon/Speedster xfx AIB must have automated bot to match prices because they also set the price to exactly 340.80 $ pre taxes right after this. This Speedster one was up for like 2 hours and I got one with screenshots as proof 371 $ speedster xfx 7700 xt post taxes /no shipping.
@@ScatterVolt memory express in canada had the 7600 on for 280 cad like 220 usd ish/. - its a great card for 1080P and not bad on power.
I finally built my gaming PC and I chose the 7800XT, mainly because here in the UK, it was selling for £480, coming from a laptop with a 1660Ti, anything was going to be a massive upgrade, but I loved the price to performance and future proofing that the 7800XT had to offer vs the uplift in price of anything from Nvidia :)
Beautiful
My day always gets better when I see you and PC Build upload a new video. I'm currently doing heavy research on building a solid reliable 1440p gaming pc that will last me for years to come and these info are always greatly appreciated. Please give us an update to your pc build website on the 1200-1800 price range pcs!
My builds in that price range are still valid as the 4070 super and 7800XT are the best for those 1440p needs. No need to update them 😅
Thanks for the compliment though!
Get 4070 ti super and 13600k
I got an open box 7800xt for $440 last summer, I was skeptical at first buying open box but it works great and saved a lot of money!
Last summer? Insane deal.
TY for all the valuable info! I have been out of the PC loop for a few years and want to build a new PC as my gaming laptop is showing some age with the 2070SuperM.
Just got the 4070 super and I am very impressed, it’s a little powerhouse and can easily play games in 4k. When you get your first founders edition card you can really appreciate it, beautiful slab of metal😄
I just made my first pc build with it and it's performance and efficiency is seriously impressive
I just bought a 6700xt off eBay for $230 used in perfect condition, it was a little more than 230 after taxes, shipping and handling but nonetheless it was under 300. Pretty happy about the deal I got, plus it will be a part of my first gaming pc I’m building.
Perfect pick
"Perfect condition" lol I wonder how many years it mined coins
@@patsk8872 tbh I don’t know what the term “ mined coins means” but the seller said it was used for exactly 1 year, and it doesn’t have a single scratch or any physical damage to it as well as no dust when it arrived to me.
doesn't really matter as proven by Linus Tech tips@@patsk8872
How do you know its perfect condition?
I have really been enjoying learning about pc's through your content. My brother just recently moved out and took the pc we had because he basically put all the money into it. So considering that I have been looking to build my own and I am going to build your 2000$ pc build you have on your website, I just have to keep working for the money.
Amazing. I’m glad I can be of guidance!
I bought this one 5:36 had problems with fans not spinning on latest drivers, no tuning options either
flashed it to a normal RX 6600, no more problems, I can overclock it, activate fsr, frame generation, etc.
I got the performance of a rtx 3050-3060 in games for 1/3 of the price, truly a great choice 😎
Noted
I'm running the PowerColor Red Devil Limited Edition RX 7800 XT 16GB and coming from an RTX 3060Ti 8GB, I absolutely love this GPU. I have it in my dedicated Sim Racing PC with an i7 13700k MSI Tomahawk Z790 mobo and 64GB (32x2) DDR4 3600. Beyond the tuning and tweaking within the AMD Adrenaline software I'm running my RAM and CPU in stock configuration and this thing just flies!! I purchased this "open box" from Amazon where there is zero stock on this unicorn. I paid less than the non Limited Edition so my value here is fantastic to say the least. NVidia makes nice cards but they have their heads in the clouds with pricing, they've lost my business for good, regardless of how great their products are because I honestly believe that they take the public for idiots and extort us with these outlandish price tags. Team Red for me! Great vids BTW, Cheers✌😎
Fantastic video!!! I am glad you talked about buying from aliexpress which is actually very safe with their trade assurance program. If you are forced to buy new your options basically suck untill you get to the 550ish range with the 4070, the 7700xt looked ok at 350 but im not sure you can even get it. If you are shopping used I think the 5600xt at 100ish is the best you can get around that price point, and at 220-250ish I think a 2080super is the best bang for your buck and I'm with you that id probably save up for a 450 3080. Anyways fantastic video and it stinks how little there is on the new gpu front under 400!
Y'all, keep in mind that the 4080 SUPER is effectively the same performance as the 4080, they launched it to just cut the price of the 4080 basically. But since it's been 2-3 weeks after launch now, on Newegg and Amazon these are floating at around $1050-$1169. It seems that the 7900 XTX is better value, unless you have features on Nvidia GPUs that you value more.
the xtx is better, but not by too much
@@MasterMCGSYeah, just within single digit % margins. Forgot to mention that
Problem to consider with used is what you have in mind when it comes to playing games because you are going to come a cropper if you get one that is DX12 but only Feature 11 and you want to play games with features higher than that and also there is likely to be only legacy drivers available which could be a few years old so a bit a research will be needed.
finally dude you make this content! waited for so long xD
liked the video. just one idea though, i think it would be cool at the end, for you to tell us what gpu you think is the best "bang for your buck" or at least a top 3. :)
Missed the boat on the 4080 super prediction. It's mainly 1200+ still which makes the 910 7900 XTX the better buy for sure.
Hi I’m sorry to bother you but you seem to know your stuff. So at what price point cost for a total pc build is the 4080 super more worth. I’m looking to build a pc in the process range of around $2,200 to $2,500 but can be flexible. It’s the 7900xtx better in this range?
@@ericlarson5398this is my issue as well, I can’t decide between the 4080 super and the 7900 xtx. My budget is $2500 usd, and this is my only worry.
Also scattervolt, Another nice video and you still look good, WHAT IS THIS MAIN CHARACTER POWER!
I swear
Love my red devil 7800XT, works cool and quiet.
I like this, but it would even be nicer if you would add some kind of graph, like you did with the CPU's. That makes it more visible, cause I can't remember all pro's and con's from start to finish in this vid.
Overall great work, thanks!
Like a tier list? I’ll see.
@@ScatterVolt exactly! Whatever you decide, I apreciate your consideration.
All the scalpers already got the 4080 supers. Lol. Probably still had too many 4080 vanillas they were trying sell so they had to corner the market again to keep the prices high 😭😭. I’m happy with my 7900xtx I got for $930 during the holiday sales. 😁😁
I got a 7900 XT and the performance is good but certain games that are older dont run as well as they should. Wonder if the 70 Ti Super is better for older games and plus its obviously much better in feature set.
It would be nice if you could make a Video about the powersupply needed to build a good gaming pc for each karegory (500w,600w...) and how much you can upgrade it (pc)
i love the way this channel responds to almost every comment 😭 respect, and thanks for the video!
It’s my new favorite thing to do in my free time versus scrolling through TikTok/IG/X, etc. haha
is the ryzen 5 7500f and the rx 7800xt a good pair?
Thanks for the video. I just ordered my 6750xt.
Nice pick. Between RX 6750 XT and RX 7600 XT (it is at the same price) , which is better ?
I am looking to assemble a secondary gaming machine, looking at the RX 6650 XT, or maybe one of the 7600s. Should I consider the 6600M, instead?
Built my fiancé a PC not long ago mainly for Sims. Managed to grab a Rog Strix 3060 12gb for $150USD off a friend! Best deal I’ve had in quite some time
love these videos man!
Thank you!
So I have a Ryzen 5 3600 processor, good and reliable for gaming. But I wanna upgrade to a Ryzen 7 7800x3d.
Excellent choice for gaming?
Also I have a GeForce 2060 6gb, what's an excellent, cool and fast card I should go with?
love your content!!
At msrp, the rx 7800 xt is an absolutely incredible option around $500
It’s aging quite well
Question: 4070 Founders Edition or Gaming X slim if the price was similar for a SFF case. Gonna OC it.
Great tips!
Already bought my gpu but still like watching these
I love that!
Got myself a r7 7700x and a 4070 super, waiting for them to arrive.
Just bought a new Power-Color Fighter AMD RX 6650 for $229 on Amazon, after trying to 😊buy a used card on eBay with used RX 6600 XT's going for an average of $260 & up, great for 1080P and useable at 1440P at lower settings, GPU does what I need for a good bang for the buck, so sometimes buying used vs new to save, isn't true! 😊
Nice overview!
Thank you!
Picked up a used Sapphire Nitro+ 7900XT for 800 USD. Now that might not seem like a good deal but here in Europe prices are a lot higher and it was in near mint condition
Those are like 1k usd new here.
If you're okay with used- 5700xt is the new 580. They go for pretty cheap- $160 seems to be the average. I've had one since they were new- never had a GPU so long or been so satisfied with one!
a 7700xt is way to expensive then it was like a month ago what gpu and cpu should i get for 1200 (CAD) any recommendations will be very appreciated
Tell ya what I'm about to do for my old gaming pc(i7 3770k 2 GTX 670 FTW in Sli)
Going to Facebook to buy a GTX 1080 ti for $200.00 and increase my VRAM from 2gb to 11gb.
Probably last me another 3 or 4 years before I will need a completely new build.
As someone who has a bit of experience I feel kinda silly asking this but before upgrading my rig to a 4070 super with a ryzen 7 5800x will the bios update on my AsRock b450m pro 4 be enough or is there any reason to upgrade the mainboard aswell?
Bios updates are needed for your cpu and ram. They have little effect on the GPU. Any bios update should help your system at the end of the day, it won’t hurt you.
Im in the EU, the 4080 Supers are now more expensive than the standard 4080. And Im not talking about scalpers listings, these are the official Amazon store prices. An Asus TUF OC 4080 Super is €1450 ($1562 USD) on Amazon UK. The same non super variant of this GPU would be €1350 ($1454 USD) Some of the bigger German non Amazon retailers like Caseking are listing Zotac cards at €1250 ($1346 USD) but these were place holder listings from pre-launch. They never got stock for those models from what I saw.
On the other hand you can get an ASRock Taichi 7900XTX for €1080 ($1163 USD). Which is still expensive but marginally more reasonable. Oh and all those prices are including tax.
I live in the UK. The MSRP models sold out pretty fast. Was tempted but wanted something with a nice aesthetic. I was trying to get the Asus TUF Gaming model which came in at £1049 because it has 2 HDMI outputs but it sold out before I had the chance. I ended up getting an MSI Gaming X Trio for £1079 instead from Amazon (not a third party seller either).
I live your channel bro and I’d like to ask what would be the best Motherboard for a r7-7800x3D?
Any B650/B650E/X670/X670E motherboard that isn’t the cheapest of its class
After my car is back on the road I’m building my first pc with your help. Thanks homie 😁😁
Good luck with your car!
There were some one-off sales of the PowerColor Fighter RX 7700 XT for under $360 on Newegg, which immediately sold out (source: Daniel Owen's community post from five days ago). Hopefully that portends an actual price drop in the near future to at least $400 for the cheaper models.
I’m hoping for that too
Hey scatter, small question about the 3060 12GB. Though not good for gaming and easily beaten by a750 or other gpus, is it better than others for productivity? Or other gpus are better than it in that sector as well.
Look up the latest puget systems benchmarks with the a750 and those should include 3060 benchmarks along with them.
I've never once worried about power usage while using a desktop PC
would you recommend the RTX 3080? I'm currently looking into getting one
Used? Yes.
I got an open box Zotac 4080 for $900, yeah still stupid expensive but better than brand new at $1200 or more.
Great deal considering the 4080 Super is only around 5% faster at most and sometimes slower than the 4080 in some specific titles for some reason.
the 7900XT reached 689 in the UK and 7900XTX is now at 845, that's crazy, 845 vs 1000 for 4080 super makes the 4080 super look bad because the 7900XTX is the same price as the 4070 Ti Super.
Amazing deals for Radeon then
Hey, Scattervolt. When do i reapply thermal paste on cpu? Like changing oil on car. Thanks
Every other year
On my country the 4070 ti s is at the same price as the 7900xt the both cost 933 usd, so what should I go with here?
So in my country the 3060 ti, 3060 12 gb, 4060 are all aroujd the same price +-10 dollars ish. Which one is best for just playing cs2 and using handbreak for some corn vdos? 1080p cs2 player. In my country 6700 are all gone and the used one looks suspicious 😅😅 so have to get brand new
Got a 7900xt sapphire pulse for $670 off of Amazon. Sold my aging 3090 for more than I bought the xt for. Overall looking forward to this card.
Aging 3090? What are you playing!?
@@ScatterVolt I mean 3090’s have a high failure rate and mine just went out of warranty. It plays all the games I need just fine.
You’re going to assume your 3090 will fail like that? Interesting strategy. With an undervolt a 3090 should last a while unless I’m mistaken. What led you to conclude to this?
@@ScatterVolt +100C memory temps. Even with aggressive undervolt. Also I bought it used from someone for less than I sold it for, it had a transferable warranty. To be clear it had no signs that it was defective, if it did I wouldn’t have sold it
@@ScatterVolt also my understanding is the 7900xt will perform significantly faster (in raster idc about RT) especially with a UV and OC. If not I’ll return it and look at something else.
yeah still cant get 4080 supers for msrp right now. Glad with my 7900xt purchase for $710. If the 4080 super was available for sure i would have cop that.
Hi i want to ask which gpu is the best picking from Intel arc A750, amd RX 6600 and nvidia 3060. The thing is i have seen a lot of different opinions and i can't choose the best one. Thank you for replying :)
Just don’t get the 3060 and you’ll be alright
@@ScatterVolt Thank you :)
i'd like your opinion guys for choosing the gpu , i would use my setup for gaming but mostly for working as an architect using mostly: revit/ autocad/ rendering in 3d in lumion/blender/unreal : should i go for an rx 6700xt or nvidia 3060 12gb?
Very glad I still got a rx 6650xt for €240. I didn't know they don't produce them anymore
I am really considering the 4070 super or the 7800 xt
The average price here for the best models of the 7800 xt is around 650€ (after taxes)... The cheapest 7800 xt goes for around 570€. The 4070 super OC models cost around 720€. The 7900 xt and xtx models both go for 900€ and 980€ respectively. And I am still wondering to this day which GPU to buy for a new build, because of the horrible prices after taxes here. I'll probably end up going for a 4070S OC model, but any feedback is appreciated 👍 great video by the way 💯
On a more budget build AM4 is ok right?? Or should I get AM5 and a bit worse gpu? I'll be gaming at 1080p
Not buying 7500f (from aliexpress)...
My budget is like 900-1000usd
Im from Europe
Buy the 7500F from aliexpress
@@ScatterVolt ok,i probably will

Man I feel sick for not getting the Sapphire RX 6700 XT in December last year. It was literally at the perfect price drop of $300 and I just needed a few more bucks to get it and now its gone.
I told everyone to get it then at that time 😓
Do you think the release of the GRE in N.A. is going to push the 7700 and 7800XT price down a bit?
It should hopefully!
What about the 6800XT what are your thoughts on it i wanted to buy a pc with 7600X do you think it's a good pair or should i just take the 650XT instead? Thank you for the good content
The 6800xt is a bad a$$ card. It paired with the AM5 platform, great combo. IF you can get a good deal on a 6800xt, I'd def get that card. Have a good day.
get non x version of the cpu
Hi i would like to ask that i have a radeon rx 6600 with intel core i3 13100f and the question is that if i wanted to upgrade my cpu to intel core i5 12400f would intel arc a750 be an upgrade or a downgrade? (i would mainly be playing fortnite, warzone and kinda edit videos and stream)
Brother, just upgrade your GPU. Your 13100F is completely fine.
A 7700XT price drop would make it an amazing low-mid range gpu
100% agreed

Why not

What gpu would you recommend for 1440p 240hz competitive gaming (Valorant, CS2, Rocket League, Fortnite, The Finals, Etc) WITHOUT lowering settings? I was thinking 4080 super or 7900xtx but is that overkill?
7900XT/4070Ti Super
@@ScatterVolt thanks!
I have been considering getting the 4060 TI 16gb model but am not a fan of the 128 bit memory bus. I am questioning if the card can even manage to use the VRAM to its fullest potential because of how small that bus is. Any ideas?
You have the right train of thought.
Came in clutch. Hoping to have everything bought by early August 😭🤞 minimum wage

You’ll get the best deals possible on Facebook marketplace for a graphics card
Hopefully they have what I'm looking for, thanks 💯
I bought Gigabyte 5700xt 2nd hand (probably from mine used) bad condition in Facebook Marketplace for 167$ and cleaning it myself using MX-6 and Thermal Pad Subzero (0.5mm 1mm 3mm) cost me 15$. Now it works great. But you know what?! I got scammed wayback 2020 of december for buying 1050ti for 214$ because I am rushed that time and total regrets but I hid that on my closet if only I change my mind that time for the selling was too pushing me.
what used gpus would you recommend and how do u know your getting a good price for them

For me, I always look for better prices regardless of other technologies such as ray tracing, path tracing etc. The games I play don’t really benefit from having all these features. If I can play 2k, high resolution and high frames. Then, it’s the best card for me.
Thanks for the recommendation bro
Is this good, 7600 paired with 4070 super? Or which CPU should I buy?
man thats perfect for just gaming if thats what your aiming for. If you needed more cores for production or productivity work a 14700k or 13700k would also be fine. But if just for gaming your all good man.
I have a 6800 xt. I still think it’s awesome for 4k with or without fsr depending on the game. I can’t see myself spending over $600 on a gpu. It just doesn’t make sense to me.
So I've seen this but I'm new to pcs and I'm wondering... would a used 6700xt be better than a new 7600xt?
Yes
Getting a 6 months old rx 6700 xt ,, under warranty ,, should I buy it for $220?
That’s a good price
I’m waiting for zen 5 and 5090 ti super 😂🎉 or super ti, which ever can do 4k 240 😢
Hey, i found a new rx 6800 in my place for around 400$, but it's from Yeston company (China) . What do you think, should i buy it?
I'd add a little more & get the 7800XT
^
Can you do a video comparing actual 6700xt name brand models vs the AliExpress version? I just don’t trust buying from there when all I hear is they are used GPUs repurposed or just laptop gpus stuffed in a desktop form factor
I was lucky enough to pick up a white 7900XT for $684.99 from microcenter last week
Damn
I just ordered a new RX6800 on Newegg for $380, I’m pretty pumped!
That’s $10 away from its all time low price of $370 from Black Friday. Nicely done.
I was lucky enough to pick a 6700XT like new for 240€!! What you think about it?😊
I got one of the last 6950xt for 600€, pretty happy about that
