Hellebuyck needs to be better but man have so many of his teammates also thrown defense under the bus. Not one game of this playoff series has featured a Jets' team that's given up under 5 goals; indeed they have on average given up 6/game and thus likely have given up one of the highest average number of goals per game among teams that qualified for the 2024 Stanley Cup playoffs (perhaps the highest).
I think the numbers are deceiving here. All those undisciplined penalties, all those odd man rushes they gave up, the Jets have left Helle out to dry here.
Good for this dude not blaming the officiating. They’ve mostly been calling only the obvious and egregious stuff and letting both sides play. I’m here for that all day.
@@frankiehoward6327 I did say mostly. They’re not perfect but they’re doing a pretty good job so far. I would argue there’s been a few pretty obvious ones the other way but it usually evens out so not gonna get fired up about it.
@@Ninokapanen When they take obvious penalties, they’re forcing the hand of the officials. Are they supposed to let a double minor high stick go, or look the other way when a dude fires the puck out of play? They had 8 more PIMs than the Avs and there’s 6 of them right there, so stop.
This is why a lot of NHL teams have started having two starting caliber goalies on their team instead of paying a lot of money to just one super star goaltender. As amazing as a super star goaltender can be, they won’t be able to carry your team with otherworldly performances every game or even every series.
Depth players we've always had good depth players. Better than a lot of teams, including the Jets. Just those guys have the rough time of being on the same team as Nathan Mackinnon
If Hellebuyck lets in 17 goals in 3 games, it's the teams fault - not even a mention of his name- except to say the Vezina man was left out to dry..and you criticize Georgiev on a 2-goal performance?? Leafs and Oilers play bad defense every night - imagine if Skinner or Samsonov let in 17 goals in 3 games, how the media would eat them alive...Hellebuyck needs to stop getting a free pass - he is the most overrated player in the league.
Oh this isn't on Helly, this is after being up 2-1 at the end up the second..... basically the first 10 minutes of the 3rd period is a penalty kill. Against Colorado? Hell, not even preventing a goal, either offensive zone or over the glass in the defensive. The players have choked so hard the last 2 games I normally only see that on pornhub. But it's not Helly. As a Jets fan I don't even care that we lost, it's just 2 games in a row of just embarrassingly rolling out the red carpet for the other team to score. Against Colorado. Unforced. Def a bit of bad luck but..... that luck is gonna swing Winnipegs way at some point..... right?
He’s playing the avs same thing happened to vassy too. Moral of the story is it don’t matter how good your goalie is the avs can put up 6 on him. Which is scary because if you have a regular goalie in the playoffs say goodbye
@politicalbandwagon4989 I don't think Jets cam bounce back in a meaningful way. They don't have the top end talent that can take over a game. They have depth yes, and a great goalie, but stars are stars for a reason.
When we get back to Winnipeg, we need to get behind Bucky the same way Colorado got behind Georgiev. Let him know that we know he can do this. If he’s feeling shaky, let’s manifest that confidence for him. He was looking pretty damn good for most of the game last night. I think as fans we should be focussed on THAT. Let the players and coaches deal with the needed improvements…they need us behind them!!!
Playoff hockey requires another level of mental fortitude that several of the Jets stars have proven in the past they just can’t reach. Rolling over after a game or 2 seems to be the preferred option.
If the Jets don't start Broissoit for game 4, they are guilty of hockey malpractice. LB was the best backup in the NHL and deserves to start as Hellebuyck has flopped.
No push back from the Jets... they should've won that game. I'm seeing a repeat of last season's playoffs. Hope they actually show up for game#4 cuz I haven't seen that happens so far in this series
That is just the way the Jets are. Come crunch time the small details needed to win are forgotten and then they fall back in the process of forcing goaltending to stand on it's head. You can't consistently at this time of year give up close to 40 shots a night and expect it to be smooth sailing. Go Colorado, but the Jets out of their misery. Then the we are winning the cup Jets fans after any win can crawl back under their summer rocks with their endless excuses of why they lost, never pointing at the actual problems with this team.
the jets are making dumb penalties...why you tripping and holding 4th line players? I understand if your holding natty mack but tripping the avs 4th linesmen makes no sense. they just needed to play smart and safe in the 3rd and they threw it away with stupid penalties.
Dillon’s injury was karma. Dude was soft the whole game and then decided to be tough at the 61st minute. Skate to the locker room next time GANEXWAS OVER. Act like a goon deal with the consequences 💩🤡
That is a very weak excuse. If it were true then the Avs should never lose a game at home. Yes, altitude can have an impact on a sluggish, dehydrated, beer drinking slob but these are highly conditioned athletes and Ball arena only sits at an elevation of 5280 feet (1609 meters) which really isn't that high of altitude.
Hard to call it an unfair advantage. It’s just geography and nothing they can control. Having said that, listen to former players and they all acknowledge how taxing it can be so I don’t think nothing.
All that smack talk of Georgiev and he’s been the better goalie
Exactly 😂

Avs are up 3-0 if Georgiev made 1 save in game one
2 saves. There were two that were absolutely on him

I'd start LB in game 4. Not that this fixes the problems up front, total domination in the neutral zone by the Avs in all 3 games.

@KIYAMAZN True. But the Jets that wiped the floor with the Avs during the regular season haven't shown up yet.

The problem is if he doesn’t have a near perfect game the Jets are hosed because of the lack of personnel around him.
I think the jets can bounce back tbh. They played a great first and second, penalties kinda burned them in the third and the game got away from them.
