Unlike the NFL model of giving weaker teams easier schedules, with the goal of improved parity, the ELF completely ignores this and, for example, the Prague Lions schedule hardly seems fair or done with the intent of improving parity. Keep doing that and you will have more Istanbul type results. The ELF tries to emulate the NFL in some ways, mostly cosmetic, but not where it really matters. Things are not being done or run properly, Get it together man!
Parity is overrated. When the NFL was becoming a juggernaut in the '70s and '80s, a handful of teams dominated the league. You need dynasties to spur interest and rivalries.
💯You see it too. Lions already have an uphill climb in their division. They were given Hamburg and Munich for interconference games to be fed as automatic wins for both teams.
@@AllGoodThings607Not the same. ELF brands itself as international league and American football is still developing in most countries outside of Germany and Austria. Since the more quality talent comes from those two countries, teams based there have a near exclusive advantage over teams like Prague. Last season they caught 5 lopsided blowouts from 3 different teams in their division. No one wants to see that in a professional league. That doesn't build dynasties; if anything it exposes the huge talent gap between the Lions and their division rivals. If the ELF is really interested in growing its popularity throughout Europe, then scheduling parity is 100% necessary.
@@AllGoodThings607 Your premise is ridiculous and simply wrong.
@@M.B1s0n I agree that the league is a little too imbalanced at the moment. You're right, nobody wants to see weekly massacres. I just don't want to see a system where, for example, the Rhein Fire can't reward their great fanbase by putting a superior product on the field...you know, letting the market decide. The current NFL setup doesn't allow for the better supported teams to reflect that on the field. I actually think the popularity of the NFL has plateau as a result...but that's an argument for another day.
Cant wait for the next season to start.
