The only time you get all five dragons put an offer in, is when Jenny is on holiday for the week.
Not on holiday, she is permanently off the show as she packed it this year, and the opposite of Jenny is the bubbly Sara, who is her replacement.....:)

Ok, as a cyclist I can tell you thatâs a massive problem that this product solves.
Vivek Tiwari as someone who cycles occasionally itâs a pain in the arse to reattach a chain
As someone who cycles almost every day commuting and for fun, the last time I had to re-hook the chain was probably 3 years ago, and before that, 2.5 years ago. Again to be clear, I cycle almost every day. If the chains slips often enough to need this tool then there is something that needs to be fixed in the bike. If you're out for exercise cycling with minimal gear (no bag/tools, only your bike and Lycra suit and nothing else) and by the odd chance your chain slips, just grab anything you can find on the street (a clean leaf will do just fine) to re-hook it. Simples. There, saved you 15 quid. You're welcome.
As someone who doesn't cycle, I have nothing of value to add here.
Ok... as a cyclist, I can tell you that an asian company can easily copy it and sell it at half price.
I had this problem and just used a stick from the side of the trail!
The dragons got blinded by numbers on this one. Easily replicated, thus very competitive market. Bad investment.
Especially when you try to make your bike or backpack as light as possible. You can use virtually anything to fix a chain. Pencil... pens... a crunched piece of paper. A derailed chain doesnât happen that often to be a problem.
The dude already had his family in quarantine back in 2019...he is a real visionary.

I think this is the best line-up of the Dragons. Peter and Theo love a bit of banter, Theo and Deborah have worked together really well, Sara is a lovely person with great business skills, Tej has the worldwide accessibility, and Peter has the high tech gadgetry appreciation.
It's just missing Tuka.

I really like Sarah.. I think she will have the time for an entrepreneur.
Yeah, she was the best. Shes content with her life and she decided to step down, especially when her husband had cancer or I think he didn't but was close, so she decided to spend more time with family.

Just checked, it's doing well on Amazon, has a newer, more functional version and has come up with multiple other innovations. He's done well! He needed this.
I think his approach to the business is good as well, holding the main job ( and getting good money too being a CTO) while working on the side, validating the concept, selling and getting a significant amount of money. a lot of people quitting their jobs, mortgage their houses, etc... it works but too risky.
This looks like a stressful afternoon but letâs not forget that the hardest job of all is sitting at home in your pajamas watching tv...

With a those offers on the table I'm surprised he didn't try to net two Dragons. He kind of just took Deborah's offer at face value but if he could've negotiated Theo down to the same level he could've made a fantastic deal.
I understand your point, and in any real world situation I guess that'd make sense. But I'm sure you've seen some reactions as I have on DD where an investor gets rather childishly butt-hurt over that sort of thing, I guess he was happy enough with the equity demand and with Meaden. when my chain has come off i have never used my finger or even got off my bike to fix it. simply move the front derailleur to a high gear and pedal, the chain will jump back on.

They usually make a big point about "does this have a patent" and "this can be replicated really easily". They didn't mention it this episode :/ guess they all saw it as a quick buck rather than a long-term investment.
