The dragons are their to entertain aswell, they probably did know.
Wrong. They are going through funding rounds so can only offer a certain amount without diluting existing shareholdings and upsetting the funding process.
A better offer would have been 1%, with repayment of capital within x years, to reduce Dragons risk.
They are also in some form of partnership with Unilever (can't remember the facts exactly) - notnsure what world you are living in but do you know who Unilever are? Do you know how much bigger they are than the dragons (possibly combined)?
This was a CLASSIC case of "We know we cannot get the investment, but at least we will get a free commercial by going on Dragon's Den."

It appears they actually only had 1-3% left to give away, hence why they couldn't budge from 1.25%. They knew no dragon wouldn't gamble on such small holdings. They simply came for the exposure.

@@akl9354 I totally agree. Children are growing up with screens for every occasion. I've just gone through hell with my teeth and had two removed. I've brought my teenage daughter up to really care for her teeth, as I didn't as a kid and have had so many problems in adulthood. She certainly never needed a screen, in order to brush her teeth. I've just always been honest with her about the importance of caring for her teeth and the potential dangers of infections/ losing teeth, if she doesn't. She has beautiful teeth and has never had any problems with them atall. I wouldn't want her relying on screens to encourage her to do basic self care.

Ah yes I agree with Jenny. I have fond memories of being a 7 year old boy and putting on my suit and tie after doing my taxes every morning. I would then appreciate the works of Da Vinci and Monet before expanding my vocabulary by 20 words from separate languages then meditating for one hour. The more confident the project then less need for the dragons. These starting at 1% already know they are well ahead with Unilever deal and already sold a good amount.
Just because an Entrepreneur comes in. With a fantastic idea and doesn't decide to just give the dragons almost HALF of their business for such small amounts of cash in the business world. Does not mean they are there for free advertising. They are there for an investor not for someone to become their boss! Kudos to these guys I hope they've made a huge success.
From Dragons den history they should know they would never accept 1%, it's too low. Tej seemed like he would of considered counteroffers at 3%, whicih really isn't too far of what they asked for. They offered 0.25% more.
