Jamahal Hill tore his achilles 9 months ago. I cant believe nobody is talking about this. I listened to Tim Welch talk about it who recently had the same injury; doctors explained how its so much worse than an acl tear especially for fighters who are strikers cause the last thing you want to do is plant on the balls of your feet and throw. It is so likely he tears it again. Its something like a minimum 12 months before you should even start running again. I know fighters are tough, but once you tear that achilles, it can be career changing

Pereira always attacks the outside of the leg. When his opponents switch stance to south paw he switch's to lead leg kicks.
He actually throws the lead leg kick a lot less when people switch to southpaw and you can see how that technique is much less effective for him.
I was thinking this too. Watch his fight against adesanya and he does use lead leg kicks against him when Adesanya switches to southpaw.

It looked to me like Adesanya fooled Pereira into exectution mode where Pereira unloads a series of power shots with no concern necessary for defence. Was that only possible because of how their previous fights ended? Was it just bad luck for Pereira?

I have never seen Hill as a legitimate champion. His most significant win is against a 42 year old (or whatever age he was) Glover Teixiera. He beat Thiago Santos, who was like 1-4 in his last five when he beat him, to get his title shot and he beat Johnny Walker before that, which nothing against Walker, but that’s not a huge win either. Poatan is about to be his first real test, while Alex’s resume throughout his combat career is full of killers. They’re just not on the same level. I think the longer the fight goes, the less likely Hill is about to win and I definitely do not see him catching Alex early, or at all, because Jamahal is not elite since he has no wins over elite fighters. Alex wins this easily.

First of all Santos was competitive against elite competition on that losing streak. The only person who managed to finish him was glover. Santos dropped both glover and ank in there fights. So Santos was by no means a scrub when he fought Santos. Also glover had just beaten Jan blachowicz and had gone toe to toe with Jiri and was even winning the fight before the submission. I'm tired of people bringing up glovers age glover was in his 40s when he won the belt but people only bring up his age when he loses but glover was still performing to a high level in his fights. Johnny walker definitely isn't a future champ but he's a good fighter and no scrub. I think newer fans like u are just a bit ignorant. Not saying Alex can't win but people just causally dismissing good wins from hills record just because there favourite fighter is Pereira. Bro if Hill started grappling Pereira is in trouble Pereira hadn't done an ounce of grappling training until he was well into his 30s he's not a good grappler but you don't seem to mention that, only that Alex will be Jamal hills first real test. I makes picks every weekend on Tapology, i've done this without missing a card for about 6 years, i follow the sport pretty closely and have watched just about every UFC event that has ever existed. I've been watching you forever too man and for sure you're my go to when it comes to fight predictions and real information about the fights. I think this fight is 50/50 right now, it could go either way, i won't know for sure until i see them in the octagon. I do think Alex is going to be the bigger man, but that's no problem for Jamahal.

People are comparing Jiri's southpaw to Hill's southpaw stance, it is a bit silly to compare a natural southpaw to a switch fighter. Particularly when Jiri uses southpaw to close distance, while Hill uses it as a base. That said, there have been some videos of Pereira's southpaw training, as he works on a lead leg switch calf kick out of the open stance. Should be a chess match.
