I think you could separate Alex from Izzy's career, Izzy would still be great and have his success in MMA, but you can't separate Izzy from Alex' career, without Izzy, Alex might not even have transitioned to MMA and if he did, he for sure wouldn't got in the UFC so fast which would have meant more exposure to wrestlers he might have lost to, and in the UFC, he wouldn't have gotten the title shot so quickly. Izzy is a big part of why Alex has become one of the greatest combat sports athletes of all time. So OP is somewhat right. It doesn't take anything away from Izzy's accomplishments. It's just a look on the bigger picture.

Charles was bound to lose again whether it was Islam or Arman. He's good but his wrestling is not good at all he just loves to take your back if you let him or rush a submission. He even did the same stupid slow flying knee that Islam countered him to sub him right after. Arman wasn't even bleeding after the fight.

Aljo looks like a beast at 145 . He crazy cutting over 40 pounds so many years
Justin getting his nose crushed in the first round was a HUGE factor in my opinion. Without that I think it would have been a much closer fight. You can tell he couldn't breath out of his nose, and could tell it was really bothering him. As tough as Justin is, it made him just that little bit more gun shy, just a bit more hesitant. Which Maxed capitalized on for the next 4 rounds. Amazing win by Max. He always looks good but he looked like a serious world beater last night.
So happy for Pereira for another awesome KO win, and he made Hill pay for that annoying behavior in the pre-fight press conference
Give Hill credit, he was selling the fight. Alex wasn't going to do it. He did a great enough job that alot of people thought he could win. I don't know how anyone could pick Hill after coming off an injury like the one he had. Not saying he couldn't do it but if you're not coming 100% you do not have a chance to against Alex.

-Maximus Holloway performance was crazy. Hearing him talk about it in the post-fight presser was just as legendary as the performance itself. And it's crazy to think Max is only 32. Unreal.
-Jiri was a man on a mission last night. Rakic was throwing bombs, no one is talking about that because Jiri has zero fear even though some of those shots would've folded him easily.
-Alex is a murderer. Say what you want about Izzy, but the fact he brought this monster to the sport AND is the only man to manage to beat him is insane.
-I legit thought Yan was going to make the comeback of a lifetime. The change of momentum after waking up after the bell in the first to turning the betting odds by the third was amazing.
-The fact Dustin is the last of the old guard to get a title shot is something I never would've thought. Also I hope we don't see Olives and Justin start their Tony arc. Imagine if they both go on a loss streak now.
-I feel like Harrison is bad for WMMA. That looked like a dude out there beating gilf Holly. No one is going to stop that beast. Not only is she the biggest weight bully in WMMA, she also comes with the pedigree that no one can match. Just give her the belt and hope she leaves the sport because no one is going to want to watch her manhandle women she weighs like 30 lbs more than.
-Aljo and Bo's fights were boring. But 9.5/10 card. Doesn't get much better than that.
You missed how Yan Xiaonan was outstriking Zhang and even knocked her down a couple of times, to a point where Zhang pulled guard after the last knockdown, she spent 2 minutes on her back trying to recover. Zhang had to grapple to shift momentum towards her.

Yep and take away a closed clenched jaw and was more susceptible to punches than he had ever been. But that was a well timed and perfect leverage shot on his chin. Had his nose not been broken it might have just rocked him. It’s hard to say. Max definitely had more power in his shots though and his spinning kicks were so effective.

Nah aljos wrestling has really improved, I noticed it a lot when he fought yan the 2nd time, like I think him working with merab has really helped him improve his wrestling, like it looks better each time he fights. We already know his jiu jitsu is really good he’s just adding the skill that he needed to be able to work his game, but not the most entertaining fight
