    The idea that Jamahal Hill was distracted by his own foul so much that he got knocked out is actually worse.. it only makes sense as an excuse if he was the one receiving the foul. The actual story should be Alex got fouled, handled the distraction and took care of business. Keep it up Weasel

    • @TriWaZe
      @TriWaZe Před měsícem +1

      I mean not really. Alex being fouled plays in his favor because if the blow wasnt that bad then it wud be like taking any other strike. Alex knew he wasnt going to stop, and he would be the more knowing of the two if he got hit in the nuts because Hill wasnt doing it intentionally.
      So Alex knew that Herb would probably step in and he knew he wasnt going to stop, which would keep him focused. Where as with Hill, higher chance he had no idea wtf just happened and was simply going with the motions and threw a bad punch that was countered.
      Not that I am defending that argument but to see it the other way doesn’t make much sense to me as the low blow was clearly not that bad and wasn’t done on purpose

      Wrestling/ elite grappling will always dominate, its just the competition at 205 is very good stylistically for Pereira. He basically just fought guys that want to kickbox with him. Magomed Ankalaev is arguebly the only threat to Pereira, because he has elite grappling and is basically the Khabib of 205 (not as accomplished but I mean he is an elite grappler from Dagestan). Magomed is so good in grappling, he decided to stand with Jan and got his legs destroyed, and he was not even able to stand properly anymore, then decided to wrestle from round 4 to round 5 and absolutely smashed Jan on the ground with no legs. Thats impressive, like he even had a 10-8 round and he would have most likely stopped Jan if he decided to grapple from round 1 with good legs. BUT here comes the problem -> just like Jamahal Hill he is already talking about wanting to kickbox with Alex. So the 205 division isnt really smart. Jamahal Hill should have shot takedowns to save his life if he were smart. Magomed is an elite grappler, and if he does the same mistake like against Jan again he will get knocked out and trained Wrestling basically for nothing.
      I thought these guys were joking when they said they want to kickbox Pereira, but they really want to do it. Magomed can easily beat Pereira, but if he is another one of these fools who tries to stand with Alex is over. Like remember Strickland, Jiri and now Jamahal. Why do these guys think they can outstrike an elite striker? Thats like Pereira was trying to outgrapple Magomed Ankalaev, it doesnt make sense lol.

      Alex the double champ in glory arguably the kickboxing top 3 goat would flatline wonky arms flailing jamahal hill. Thats what would happen and it did happen. Alex and jamal were in a similar position from the start of the fight too as weasel pointed out. His leg played literally no role in him getting KO'd because of the way alex set up that shovel hook, it wasnt his normal left hook.
      Jamahal himself said he was clear and good to do, stop yapping. Their striking is WORLDS apart and if you can't see that you have 0 clue about combat sports.

    Pereira fabricated the low blow it was on the waste line yet he complained about it which is why Herb Dean went to step in, so it's not even a "cool" "special" moment. there's no significance to it other than Pereira not needing illegal time to recover from a near low blow that he complained about

    Jahamal Hill sucks. It was a simple and easily discernable outcome. If you add up Daniel Cormier and Chael Sonnen's IQ you do not break 150.

    Plus I thought this when it initially happened but when I rewatched, you see that Hill literally goes back into his stance and resets, he wasn’t still tryna touch gloves or moving back into position when he got caught🤦‍♂️

    This is an interesting one, TheWeasle. Because as that classic "casual fan" of the UFC (though I'm a bit more than that?). My very first reaction was that Jamahal Hill was mentally getting ready for a reset, as in both fighters being separated to stand further apart and begin again. But then I think of the "Extended Edition" of the movie Enter the Dragon, where Bruce Lee is teaching the kid, and the kid bows at the end without watching Bruce. And Bruce utters that classic line "don't focus on the finger, or you will miss all that heavenly glory"

    great video. the comparison between 3:58 left and 1:54 left really shows that Alex had the read on the left cross and caught the uppercut clean. also if a groin kick that can be shrugged off that easily is illegal, then every time someone has had a face crank and their fingers even touched their opponents orbital bone should also be an illegal eye poke.
