granted I've played a lot in East Asia so that kind of messes with the AI, but I've never seen Japan fully conquer China in hundreds of hours of runs. Come to think of it the axis does terribly in practically every playthrough, so historically accurate I guess.

Around the world, air forces are a growing and growing percentage of military forces - even growing as other branches of the military downsize.
I am very biased in favour of planes, but its true - you can't win a regular war without winning the air war.
@@theregalproletariat I am of the unconventional opinion that combining air strikes with fast moving armored units is the future of warfare. The endless stalemates of past wars would be long forgotten as wars become faster and faster, akin to lightning some might say.

@@Benhughes2010 as far as I know, several years ago ISP got his editor to put a rat in a video. people liked it, so the rat appeared in a few more. then, the rat suddenly stopped appearing, and we've all been trying to get the rat back ever since.
(I am not well versed in ISP lore, feel free to correct me if i'm wrong)

11:52 Yeah, this has been a painful problem with the British AI. They stick their entire navy in the Med. I've played probably 8 US games, and in 2 of them, Britain got Seaslioned before I was in the war. I even checked when I was playing Germany when I got a Sealion off. They had 0 ships in the English Channel.
I did veteran German game recently and while UK had some navy in the chanel I got supremacy very easily with just regular German navy. I didn’t focus on it, or in naval bombers, in fact I was thinking on having semi historic ww2 where I invade soviets while war with allies. Tried to have nice Africa campaign before Barbarossa but I got fed up by all the raiding in med.
(on that note AI allies also place ungodly amount of troops in Egypt. There’s no way to have any chance with land invasion.)
I checked up how much navy UK had in the chanel and immediately thought I can definitely contest that. About 70 days later operation Sealion was go and Allies fell like a month after that.

Crap, I love the idea of releasing a bunch fo puppets to protect your borders! When I did CAS only recently, I just allowed myself 10-width infantry and nothing else other than CAS and it went REALLY well

I think Finland declaring war on the Soviet Union with the Germans isn't a bug and that it makes sense. There were a series of volunteer conflicts fought against the Soviet Union in the hopes of getting more of Karelia as there were a lot of Fins and Karelian Fins living there that Finland wanted to incorporate. Long story short they were rather unsuccessful but they did get the two areas of Repola and Porajärvi which was then traded back to the Soviets in exchange for the northern port of Petsamo, that is what the focus The Last Kinship War means. The Soviet Finnish relations were also very strained as Finland supported a Karelian uprising during the civil war, that and the Kinship wars in general, along with that the Fins hated communists as Finland had it's own Communist civil war just after independence and I guess they called the communist Fins Russians so i think they blamed Russia, to my knowledge the Soviets and German Empire had a heavy hand in the civil war. Basically I think conflict between Finland and the Soviet Union was inevitable but obviously Finland couldn't attack first they were too weak

Considering how important supply is to pushing, this vid game me an idea to try build Tacs instead of CAS and strat bomb/logistical strike the hell out of the front line since supply is so vital for pushing. Not sure if it will work, but I love testing out new ideas.

Belkan strategy be like:
Could we have something like "bombardment only"? You can make/use railway guns and capital ships, for their bombardment modifiers. Maybe strat bombers could be included too. I am thinking a country like Canada or Australia might be good for this, small enough that their side doesn't lose much without them, but with the industry and coastline to actually be able to pull this off. They help in Europe and Africa initially, mostly with railway guns, but then also contribute to the pacific with naval bombardment and maybe some preemptively placed railway guns on strategic islands.

You could maybe do it as like Canada or something, but the issue is they are capped so holding a front is nearly impossible with them
