The first mistake was thinking ISP was going to do an actually hard challenge, even this one was cheesed by using nukes. It doesnt matter what units you use if you can just nuke the enemy divisions until they have no equipment and organization.

Special forces only. Play as Britain and for your land units you can only build Rangers, Marines, Mountaineers, and paratroopers. Navy and Airforce allowed.
I feel like the special forces cap would make this impossible. You literally can't train more special forces than a certain % of your full army last I checked.

@@deltainfinium869 well, he could use the 1 brigade trick, deploy a crapton of them, switch all of them to 40 width, deploy all his special force then disband the 40width.
@@deltainfinium869not really, shared instructors from the mountaineers doctrine would make the cap so high it would no longer matter there being a cap. 20% capacity multiplier kinda a lot.

Yes, the rodent railway artillery was OP because it was stronger than a nuke and you didn't need air superiority to use them. I don't remember if it was a late game tech?

Only paratroopers. you have infantry to hold but the only way you can push is with paratroopers. Only planes you can use is fighters to get air superiority and transports of course.
Or you could pull the strat where you can only paradrop on victory points

they cant invade us if there's nothing to invade
What’s funny is that guns only will destroy max buffed Germany on elite difficulty too.. in 1943 no less. The way to do this is to always be grinding them down as long as you have guns in stockpile. The more you grind their manpower, the better it will be. By 1943 I got the germans down to 20m casualties and back to Berlin. I took about 30m casualties

Perhaps you might go for this challenge. Your units can’t be more then 10 width. You may use what you want but must be 10 width max. For extra fun, no CAS as well.

Another Challenge: maximum casualities! You don't want to win a war, you destroy their manpower, i.e. holding frontlines, just encirceling, dropping nuxes.

The way to really do this is to make a jagged line so that the enemy frontline is as thin as possible, while you still have 5+ infantry divisions per tile!
I'd honestly like to see more unique plays like this, also, Sweden held on the whole time...

It came years before I don’t remember the exact video but ISP saw a video of faze banks and he sounded like he said “gravy babies” so he took it as an intro, so yea that’s where the intro came from I don’t know if ISP even remembers at this point 😅
What about nothing only challenge? As the USA, don't have any active units or planes. You can lend lease your allies and give them garrison support. (Idk if you did this one but I just think this would be hilarious. I call it the drew durnil challenge.)

Special Forces Only would be kinda neat to see, especially with the latest updates. Doesn't mean you can't make any regular infantry, you just can't use them. *Air would be allowed as well to enable paratrooper usage.
Build a op Germany and when Barbarossa happens switch to the Soviets

How about playing without using any military factories and just get equipment from the market, lend lease, decisions, etc
I'd suggest marine-italy: you can only fight on a frontline, thats open by your marines. This way you'd have to focus on navy, planes and you'd need to escape the mediterrainian sea to be useful and probably need to fight turkey.

Easiest challenge, hell, you don't even need guns if you have enough people
Just convert that tiny battalion to a chonky one
They might not have guns, but the AI won't push you either, so... (You can actually push sometimes, don't ask me how though, I guess fist beats guns and tanks)
Although the late game always becomes a nukefest with the AI stacked divisions
I mean, you could naval invade, It's not like every coastal province will be defended at once

At this point its been so long that the alf landon episode seems hype
So in this episode he demonstrates the power of a proper rolling thunder tactic… except instead of artillery and a battle, he has used nukes and the entire war.
ISP is willig to sit through the torture that is Artillery only, but playing as Alf Landon is to much.
I have a diabolical suggestion:
Instead of world conquest: World Liberation.
You have to free every territory on earth. You may play as any nation you want, form alliances, break them, any method is on the table...
EXCEPT: You may not conquer anyone you defeat. You can puppet them, but you can't hold them.
Which means, you can't just play it like World Conquest and then release all the states at the end.
You gotta juggle them all until every territory capable of independance is independent... lastly, including your own.
Obviously, releasing your own territories is last priority, but puppeting should be enough to get you the resources and control you need to guarantee the correct outcome.
Return to tradition, French Cuirassiers (cavalry) only!

This is the equivalent of seeing a man stand at the beaches of Normany, shooting directly into the sands, hoping to break the back of the German war machine
Super heavy only: super heavy tanks, super heavy battleships, and large airframes. Only catch is no trading for oil or building refineries allowed
Large airframes have to have six engines too.

I can't believe we are only 19k away from the Alf Landon playthrough. It's been so long in the making.
you know, i'd like to see how a tanks only challenge would go? but the twist is you have to be a minor nation for the challenge.
IIRC, there was one "true" way to still do this, if you wanted to bite the bullet and install road to 56. You can put nukes on tier 3 rockets and launch them that way. You might still need air superiority, though, I can't quite remmeber.

not watched the video yet but the answer is yes, yes you can infantry only I know this because I often used to forget my air force and never liked tanks and for quite a while never knew how to update my divisions to add artillery.
Do a country roulette while playing either the TNO or red flood mod.
Tno would be a 50% chance to get a nation with no content, 25% to get one with content and, 25% to get one with actual game play
