  • We visited the twin villages of Lynmouth and Lynton in North Devon a couple of years ago and we just had to go back. This time we stayed for a couple of days at Highcliffe House, a luxury B and B in Lynton, the town at the top of the cliffs.
Lynmouth is at the foot of the cliffs and Lynton is at the top. The two are connected by the water-powered Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway dating from 1890.
The North Devon coast where Exmoor meets the sea is a beautifully rugged landscape with cliffs, gorges, forests and moors. A short, easy walk from Lynton is the Valley Of Rocks, definitely worth a trip, keep a lookout for the famous feral goats.
A short drive from Lynmouth and Lynton is Doone Valley. The picturesque valley inspired R D Blackmore to write the romantic novel, Lorna Doone.

i love your videos so much, i especially love the ghost ones. Im only 20 and a bit of wild card but everytime i feel like im gonna go off the rails i watch one of your videos. They ground me because of how slow and melodic they are, they flow so well. Thank you for these!

We stayed there last year as part of our tour of the perimeter of England in a motorhome. We did 3 nights in the large car park down the hill from you. Lots of walks for the dog right from the town, the beach, the river, there’s so much to do, it’s so relaxing there. So strange it’s only a few miles across the water yet took us about 4 hours to drive there.

We can see Lynton most days from Porthcawl. Yes, it is a long way to drive around, we need a friend with a boat.

    Lovely vid, Guys.
Ironically, it's a part of the world where my Dad's family lived and one that I don't know that well.
    Must do something about that.

Love your videos. I wonder if you have time , if you could visit Conwy Castle in North Wales. It looks amazing and the village is so pretty. I think it would be worth a visit from yourselves, so we can all have a virtual visit. Thx!

We'll see what we can do although Conwy is over a 4 hour drive away. The road from South to North Wales isn't the quickest.
