- DREAMY ENGLISH VILLAGES in Somerset that will leave you speechless// We are so happy to be sharing today's video with you. We explored the most amazing English villages in Somerset and were completely blown away by their beauty. They didn't seem real and looked straight out of a fairytale. Simply picture perfect villages with thatched cottages that we couldn't help but fall in love with all of them. We visited Bossington, Selworthy, Porlock, Dunster, West Luccombe, Luccombe, Horner, Allerford and Porlock Weir. The moment we stepped into Selworthy, West Luccombe and Luccombe we felt the magic! Thank you so much for watching. Kirsten & Joerg

Kirsten, you said, “Sadly, I can’t paint or draw.” Nonetheless, you have an artist’s EYE. 🎨You and Joerg capture beauty in a way that delights our spirits.
You are SO KIND, thank you!
That’s very true x
So very true! You make it such a pleasurable experience!
Being a photographer and videographer is being an artist.
Yes! 🙌🏻 Artistry comes in many forms.
Never let these lovely villages in England die, so much has been lost, they just have that timeless beauty.
a message to the future generation?..😂😅😆
cultural "enrichment" is already creeping in. They'll be largely gone over the next 20 years.
I've been in England exactly 12 and half years ago for one month, every morning I would feel like in a dream like a fairy tale to me and that place wasn't as picturesque as the place on the video. I miss you England 😢
Can’t believe how clean this place is
It means so much to so many when you upload such quality videos ❤ You reach a vast variety of people from all over the world ......very deeply grateful.
So so happy to hear, thank you so much!

I'm an American, and I think these little English villages are unbelievably cute and can't believe they exist because stuff like that doesn't exist over here in the US.

Englands very lush and green from the rain. Pretty country
May God bless England and the english heritage and the english culture. God save the King. God bless The UK.
The rain didn't spoil the video, on the contrary, it perfectly captured the romantic mood of these beautiful villages. ☺️
Thanks so much! I filmed the part with the Periwinkle Tea Room about 10 times as I couldn't hold the umbrella so I was so glad about less rain the next day tbh.
@@KirstenJoerg I can imagine it must have been very difficult for you two with all the filming equipment, being very careful not to get it wet. But, the video and the music in it, turned out perfect. Thank you for all your efforts. Much appreciated. 😊
@@VionaBee I'm so so happy, thank you so much for your kindness!
This is breathtaking. It's hard to believe people still live in places like this. How amazing. Thankyou.
Places like this are literally all over England. There are some that are even more ridiculously quaint.
I live on the Great plains of Canada but my heart belongs to rural England!
You can´t but fall in love with these magic places. This is where I plan to live in my next life, so lovely.
galacticangel15262. I agree & I do HOPE this is what HEAVEN looks like & I do "HOPE & PRAY" that I make it there 🙏😊🕊️✝️
I HOPE WE ALL MAKE IT THERE 😂😇👌
I so loved this visit to these English Villages they each were so very special and the gardens were so beautiful. It was like you and Joerg had opened a great big Ole' English Storybook and made it possible for us to walk within its pages. Your ability to capture these imagines almost free of disruptions of vehicles and people to distract from the atmosphere is such a gift. Thank you for this beautiful treasure. 💓
Thanks so much, we can’t tell you how much that means. We were so lucky that the places were not overly touristy and we visited Dunster in the evening when it was blissfully quiet.
Very very good point.
Totally agree.

Totally agree, some of these beautiful villages can get very busy with tourists, it’s so nice to see them so tranquil and blissful, you capture so beautifully with the music to accompany, you are both very talented at what you do, I’m so glad I found you on CZcams ❤️
Blazing hot here in Texas---109 F degrees---relentless sun beating down on us, day after day after day Thank you for temporarily taking me into another world. A world of beautiful English villages beneath pearl gray skies, misted by gentle English showers. I can almost feel the coolness, and smell the rain. ♥
That’s very poetic! Hope you lose that awful heat soon!
❤❤❤❤
and hear the birdsong and the church bells. Thatch is cool in summer and warm in winter, and nothing beats the soft sound of rain by a log fire. Thank you for liking the Somerset villages. During the hot summer of lockdown, we put on Occulus headsets and pretended we were in Texas.
Awwwww England villages are like a little heaven on earth 🌎. Awwwww blessed are those who live here. Beautiful indeed.
Another beautiful area of the West Country really lovely. I mean we do love to moan about the weather but we wouldnt have a 'green and pleasant land' without the rain!
Couldn’t agree more! It’s always so green here, also in winter - we love that.
Wonderful. English villages are so beautiful with beautiful cottages.
So glad you think so.
I have always dreamed since I was a little girl of living in a cosy cottage in the countryside with log fires and beams, roses round the door, country kitchen, oh well I’m 62 and still dreaming ☺️🌸🌸 🏡🌸🌸🌷🌷
Gorgeous!! Have you considered putting out a guide book to the charming villages you visit? I would adore it! I have dreamed of a long stay in England for years, and it would be amazing to be able to follow in your foot steps. ❤️❤️
Thanks so much! Would love to do it, hopefully we can do it one day. Right now it's a time issue but I LOVE the idea. It's quite hard for us to juggle it all as we film with 2 cameras and taking photos at the same time so we didn't take a lot of photos during this trip as it can get so overwhelming with only the 2 of us.
Your videos are better than anything on the TV 😊…so good for the soul ❤❤ thank you so much for sharing 🙂xx
@@sharonhill349 This means so much and it's exactly what we want to achieve. We sometimes don't know along the process so your words mean the world to us. Thank you!

The presentation and music is exceptional, and the DREAMY ENGLISH VILLAGES is among the most beautiful in the world.
From the Thatched Roof, to the GORGEOUS Color of the Cottage, to the INCREDIBLE Flowers, it is just, as you said, "PICTURE PERFECT!!!!

So lovely to watch. Memories of my childhood in Germany. Thank you again for letting me walk down memory lane.
Absolutely stunning! Every town, village, cottage, castle, church, bridge, and garden was beautiful. I could walk forever and never run out of perfect vistas, and picturesque landscapes in every direction. Thank you both for capturing the atmosphere too. There is nothing more magical or quintessential than English weather! LOL!
The villages were so magical!
There is so much beauty and charm in these villages. I love the hydrangeas in the beginning and that yellow cottage was spectacular. ❤
Thank you for a wonderful journey! Everything is so beautiful - love the flowers, the birds and the rain.
Thank you so so much!
"The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched but must be felt with the heart".... I'm totally in love with the rural England ❤️ Gorgeous!
Just beautiful. I could happily live in one of those villages til the end of my days.

There is 6,116 villages in the uk, which in total has a population of 9.7 million. Hard to believe really when some villages have about 30 people living in them.
All your videos make me realize how much we missed when we visited the UK. I think another visit is in order. ❤❤❤
Most definitely! There’s so much to see, even we can’t manage all of the places.
Even with the poor weather it doesn't detract from the beauty of these villages you do find the most stunning of places around the UK. We are so lucky I think to live on this beautiful island 😁🇬🇧
What charming villages! Thank you for taking us on your trip. It was delightful!
Glad you enjoyed it!
No matter the weather it's one of most beautiful amongst all your videos, the villages are the loveliest in the whole world! Hope you'll be able to get back there while it's sunny 🌞

Dear Kirsten - you said you "don't paint" however you and Joerg paint the most touchingly beautiful moments for us all to share and we thank you beyond words --
Thank you so much!
This was completely delightful. It is difficult to believe people live modern lives in these picture postcard villages. Kirsten, I just loved that your floral skirl matched your floral umbrella! Your video made my day - Thank you for sharing.
It just astounds how OLD and well-preserved the buildings are in these towns! The thatched roofs are so beautiful, too! Wonderful video, Kirsten and Joerg! The clarity of picture and framing of gorgeous views is well-appreciated.👏🥰
Thanks so much!
🙏Thanks Kristen and Joerg for the beautiful video! Sitting at home can watch God's incredible creation of Experience the Magic of English Country side! Wonderful and Gorgeous! God Bless!👍🌺🏚️ The villages were very unique❤️🤗❤️
Went to Dunster in 2004 with my daughter & dog. We stayed in a lovely B&B in a small hamlet named Kilve which was also delightful & had a lovely tearoom with gorgeous homemade soup! Worth a visit.
There are no words with which I can describe my feelings! Lord, how I love this beautiful country! How I dream of walking through these gorgeous villages someday!❤❤❤
I absolutely loved this video! Those villages were so beautiful and peaceful. My daughter and I visited England in May. We did not want to leave. We got to visit some of the Cotswolds and fell in love.
I’m so happy you had a great time here!
Janet, I’m in USA, and want to plan a trip to England. Any advice is most welcome! 🤗
Oops, I mean Jane🫣
@karenproietti8696 It’s Janet LOL We flew British Airways, and that was a wonderful experience. About all I can tell you is we played it by ear and went where we wanted either by the Tube or taxi. We were all over the place.
Now, if you want to take a tour of a place like the Cotswolds, Windsor, Roman Baths, etc, you do have to book that online. It's easy to do. We also took the train out of Paddington Station to Cardiff, Wales, for a day.
We also found our own restaurants to eat at. Everyone had excellent food!
FYI, there is a mall in Shepards Bush called Westfield that has 300 stores and is the largest mall in Europe.
@@janetroush5775 thank you so much, Janet!❤️
Thank you for this beautiful video! The stroll through the villages even in the rain puts my heart in a place it always wants to be! ❤
Somerset looks so romantic. I think the rain makes it a serene place one can find a cozy spot for a cup of tea and a good book!
Not forgetting the famous 'man from Porlock' who, while Coleridge in an opium-induced haze had devised the whole of his poem 'Kubla Khan' and had sat down to write it, called on Coleridge. By the time he left, Coleridge had forgotten what he was going to write, and we only have a few lines of the poem.
Regarding the Horner tearoom, the Horners were owners of Mells Manor in Somerset for generations. The nursery rhyme that starts 'Little Jack Horner sat in the corner, eating his Christmas pie' is, between the lines, a dark tale about a Horner obtaining by deception the deeds to Mells Manor centuries ago and taking possession. No-one knows if there was any truth to the claim.
Kiersten & Joerg what a lovely scenary
As a Canadian these English villages are just impossibly charming. 😍
Thank you for taking us to see them. As you say, even in the tain, they still retain their magic .
Beautiful cottages and amazing gardens. Your blessed to live in such a beautiful country. My small village in coastal California only dates back to the mid 1800’s . Love your videos
It’s nice to see that such fairytale villages really do exist! Thank you for this wonderful video.
The first time we visited Scotland, I "practiced" walking in the rain for the months preceding our late March visit. We live in California and don't get much rain but if we do it's basically only seasonal. I didn't want the rain to dampen my visit so I was determined to be sure I wouldn't be terribly unhappy if it happened to rain while we were there (since we were told it could rain at any time). Well, it was only overcast when we arrived and when we departed. We had a heat wave with sunny skies the rest of the time. However, I did learn that as long as I had a good raincoat, boots, and hat that kept my face from getting wet, I have no trouble be out and about in the rain. The next time we visited it was the last week in May and it snowed! I did have to buy gloves and a warm hat as I wasn't prepared for snow. You never know. These villages were spectacular. Thanks for braving the rain.
Oh you are right, it all depends on the clothes, that helps so so much. Yes, the weather can be quite unpredictable here. We were in the Highlands in May and it was too hot, it was very unusual but it was beautiful nonetheless. I hope you always had a great time here.
I tend to use a waterproof poncho these days, then you dont get too hot and can use it as an overhead shelter as well
Hey- Somerset, das richtige für uns 😉! So schöne Einblicke 🤩.

It really does! It was unreal to see some of those villages!
Loved seeing all the English cottages and tea room’s. The beautiful flowers are a real eye candy treat. It’s all so enchanting and peaceful.
What lovely little villages, pulled right out of a children's fairytale book! Thank you for sharing, I felt like I was right there with you both! Cheers!

Are villages are so old I don’t think they were pulled out of a fairy book I think fairy tale villages were based on English villages !👍🏻🏴🌹

Thank you for showing all those story book villages and houses of England. It's my dream to see those places in person, but even if I visited England, I don't think I could cover all those less explored places. I love your video contents.
I doubt you could, there are just too many. I've lived here 50 years and only seen 1% of this country. There are thousands of these little villages scattered all over the country.
The Villages look as if they propped out of a Fairy tale book & you ma'am suit well in that surroundings.👍😊
Even though it rained during your entire trip, I was in awe! English villages are straight out of a dream! So charming, so cozy, so quaint and beautiful. And you film it all beautifully, dear friend! 💕
Thanks so much Sara! Luckily it didn’t rain the entire trip. The first day was bad but when we visited Dunster the sun came out and we were quite lucky the next day when it only started the moment we drove home, phew.xx

Dear Kirsten and Joerg, Again you've blown me away with this magnificent video. It's so mind blowing to think of a building from the 13th century. Australia where I am is just over 200 years old. So it's literally incredible to see such places here of centuries ago. It's truly magical. I love your umbrella Kirsten. It's so pretty. Everything looks so lovely there. Thanks so much!
If ever i were so blessed to go to England, these little villages are the places I'd spend my time in. I've stepped into a Catherine Cookson novel. Frozen in time
Funnily enough I'm watching this wonderful video with a painting on my wall of the Periwinkle Tea room by my very talented Mother in law Susie Summers. She lives in Porlock and paints many beautiful pictures of all the places you have been to! She used to live in Stoney Street Luccombe where you started the video off. The 1990s children's tv series was filmed in Bossington - I'm pretty sure where you bought the apple juice was the home of George in the programme. Selworthy church is beautiful. What a shame the weather wasn't sunny as the view from the porch is one of the most breathtaking views ever. In August the church has a flower show which is beautiful. I do hope you both will visit the area again in better weather as you didn't see it at it's best! Xx
The TV series was The Famous Five xx
Oh I SO LOVE this, that's amazing. We loved Luccombe and Stoney Street so much, it was honestly unreal. I agree, the view from Selworthy Church is absolutely gorgeous. We even enjoyed it in the rain but on a clear day - simply breathtaking.
My beautiful, beautiful homeland that i miss SO MUCH! Thank-you ❤🇬🇧
The yellow thatched roof cottages are stunning!

Poetic dream land
Lovely villages, beautiful gardens, stunning skies, and above all: peace ,but unfortunately no people are seen in this marvelous places!
Thanks but there were people everywhere. Many sadly forget that in these tiny villages where only a couple of hundred people live you can’t just film others without their consent, it’s a privacy issue and we respect people’s privacy.
Kirsten & Joerg, I recently came upon your channel and cannot stop watching your videos. They are so well produced and thoughtfully done. You truly relay the beauty of the places that you visit. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Thank you so much!
Glorious English villages and I love the quirky tearooms and my favourite is the English Cottage Gardens. I love how every space in the garden is filled with wonderful flowers. Thank you for the tour
So quaint and lovely, like something out of a story book… I feel as if I must’ve lived somewhere like this in another lifetime.. ❤
Oh, how I love the light yellow color with the thatched roof! I can only dream to live there! 🌻
Absolutely love all the places you visit. The sweet cottages just capture my heart as well. I may never get to go to all of these places but get to capture this beauty through your eyes! Have taken some of the ideas seen, and even though living in the U.S. have worked to place flowers and other arrangements, so that our brick home, has a sort of look of an English cottage. Inspired by your videos! Thank you so much for giving me all this enjoyment and the love of an English Cottage!
Absolutely enchanting! ❤ would love to live there in one of the quaint cottages! Wish I was with you buying the grape juice ! ❤🍇 🌸 thank you for sharing! I keep hoping one day to go somewhere as that! Both are so blessed to have one another to share such dreamy places!
