Exactly. Red Bull's podcast host is a woman. They also have female engineers and mechanics who are actually at the top positions. Not to mention, the brilliant Hannah Schmitz, their strategist.

It wouldn't be a Sky F1 show if they didn't try to demonise Red Bull. As far as it seems, Red Bull is currently the only team with a female on the pit wall, the only team with a black senior engineering crew member, was the first team to send a female onto the podium and from a driver point of view, the largest stakeholder in the academy series. Where were these questions during the Mercedes era when they didn't have a single female on the track team.

Not to discredit any of Red Bulls staff or Hannah Schmitz, but Sauber have had a woman on the pit wall as a head of race strategy too. But yeah, you're right, it would be nice if Sky would stop showing their clear bias. Red Bull are a great team and they deserve respect and there's a reason that teen called Kravitz out on that Notebook in the last race weekend.
I think Mercedes wins the diverse employee competition.

NOT necessary to focus on the gender of the individual representing Red Bull on the podium. Formula 1 is a team sport. The person on the podium symbolizes the collective effort and achievement of the entire team. This line of questioning was not necessary.
Good on Christian for emphasising that employees EARN their place on the podium, and aren't just granted it because of their gender and the positive optics it brings.

No but it would be good to have more girls invested at every level of motorsport, and representation insures that it will be the case a little more in the future.
I am not saying put unqualified people all over the place for political correctness, but it’s a balance to strike.

It's mainly Redbull on the podium and I assume they ask people if they want to go up there. They probably asked Hannah the lead strategist but maybe she didn't want to do it. I mean 2022s last woman on the podium was via Redbull.

@@mamavswild You know as well as I do that it's not about forcing people to be tokens. I'm not a huge fan of affirmative action, actually, I think often it makes more bad than good. But in a case like F1, where there are so many jobs that can find a lot of very qualified women, making an effort towards representation is a good idea.

About that ridiculous question of 'women on the podium', is that a Ted 'I hate Red Bull' Kravitz question? Red Bull has been the team with most woman on the podium, namely three times in the past few years, Hanna Schmitz twice and Joanna Fleet. Women on the prodium of other teams: NONE!
Also that question about having pity with Mercedes. Why? How about the other teams who've hardly won a race lately like Ferrari or McLaren? This whole Sky Sports F1 is way too much pro-Mercedes, pro-Lewis Hamilton and pro-Toto Wolff.
Wolff is the only team principal who shares a similar experience with Horner. Both of them were champions for multiple seasons until there was a change in regulations, and they had to chase victory once again. None of the other team principals have gone through that. So, it's not an unusual question to ask how not being the champion changes the way you lead the team.
It's much more challenging to keep a team together when you're losing compared to when you're winning. How do you prevent people from pointing fingers? How do you motivate your team when the rush of winning is no longer there? You have to find ways to celebrate other, smaller victories...
While Mercedes may not have the second-fastest car on the grid, it's their consistent performance that earned them the runner-up title. Ferrari made more mistakes than Mercedes, and that's something the Mercedes team can take pride in. When Matt & Tommy ranked the drivers they noted that Lewis got P2 without winning a single race or even getting a 10 point review, but it was his consistency that got him that P2 spot...

Christian and Toto does not have similar experience. Christian built this team from the ground up alongside Marko, Newey, and Mateschitz. Mercedes wouldn't be where they are without Schumacher, Lauda and Brawn.
Also, Mercedes may not have the fastest car but they are just as fast as the recent McLaren upgrade. Drivers know Mercedes is quick, they even had illegal upgrade in COTA and still can't win the race against Max who had a braking issue. If you watch where Lewis is in the grid this season, even ex teammates of Max outqualified Lewis after he talked trash about them.
Overall, Red Bull and Mercedes are not similar. Mercedes got ahead and stayed at the top because of politics, Red Bull is at the top because of their consistency and pure determination showed through talent, all that while British media, Toto and Lewis are talking trash about Red Bull team, especially Max.
You can manipulate rankings, but you can't manipulate or copy natural talent and genuine attitude.

Horner is a truly impressive leader. People can knock the team all they like, but the results do the heavy lifting.
Christian’s like the most sought-after player in school sports. Both teams wanted him on their side because he would add immense value to their team and cause headaches for the other.
That fan was right SkySports loves Mercedes and hates RedBull. You could tell by the way Ted even reacted that day. Turned the podcast off as soon as he brought up the woman on the podium

Red Bull have set the bar high and they still lack genuine acknowledgement and respect because of bias. Lewis said he wants to challenge Max, he already did and he lost. Doesn't get enough credit for keeping the team spirit up high while they were in their lean years between Vettel and Max. The mark of a true leader.

That presenter should never be given an interview again that comment about women on the podium was malicious and trying to make a team principal trip up.

I switched off as soon as the presenter started banging on about who was on the podium. People should be employed due to their skill sets. Nothing else!!

3:56 the “Most records set in a single season” was just the cherry on top for me. I laughed from the deepest parts of my soul. Max’s 2023 run felt like Ayrton Senna’s revenge to me. A phenom prodigy who had to contend with the FiA itself only to smash and destroy almost every record in his path.

At the end of the day I consider myself as a neutral or a McLaren fan if I had to pick one team, but the bias shown in this interview towards Mercedes is unreal. You've got a record breaking team principal in front of you and every other question is about Mercedes not even just competition in general

Im 40 yrs old, been watching motor racing for as long as i can remember. From nascar to nhra, motoGp, and so on. Out of all of them my wife and daughter will only pay attention to f1. Everything else the just leave the room. I cant explain why.

Red Bulls podacast host is female... I'm just throwing that out there. Im not exclusively a red bull fan i watch content for every team. But i feel the need to defend Red Bull here. I have to say that question was uncalled for. You just know matt was told to ask that question by Sky. Seriously though, guys, come on. How can you ask that question as a podcast host to a team prInciple WHOS OWN PODCAST HOST IS FEMALE... every team is working towards being more diverse, but you can't just hire someone because they're visually different versus the person who is actually qualified. Work towards equality without discriminating at the same time otherwise youre not actually being as progressive as you may think you are. Im all for literally anyone doing literally anything as long as they skillfully qualify. Once more of the kids today grow, after having already seen the amount of diversity there is now, there will be a massive and NATRUAL burst in diversity. i thought mclaren was about to sign with honda for 2026 but signing with mercedes and be amercedes's customer is not good news for fans, mclaren will never get an engine as good as the official mercedes team. being independant is the only way to compete at the highest level and red bull understaood that, signing honda first, now designing its own engine for 2026, with ford help. mclaren was the only team to challenge red bull, with exceptionnal drivers, being just ordinar customer to mercedes's engine is not the right move to be the next red bull's rivals.

This interviewer had a really negative vibe all interview. Sure, they need to ask hard questions, but these werent "hard questions", the seemed more like "i really dont like you" questions. A lot of the questions had the opinion of the interviewer in them, the way he asked them.
No team should be allowed to own two teams on the grid!

Unfortunately I still cannot warm to Horner and Red Bull due to some of the under-handed events that have come out in the media over the years, as well as the comments he has made about rival teams and drivers. The adage "You have to be 100% behind someone to be able to stab them in the back" sits well with him.
