  • How to become a Hospital Dietary Aide? What are the job duties and job responsibilities of a dietary aide in the hospital? What are the job requirements for a hospital dietary aide before you apply for the job? In this video, I will quickly go over these topics.
What is a Hospital Dietary Aide? What do Dietary Aides do inside the hospital? Dietary Aides are responsible for the preparation and handling of food created by chefs. Depending on the hospital and area, additional duties may include serving meals to patients and residents, stocking inventory, recording meals served, monitoring food temperatures, cleaning the kitchen and washing dishes, cutlery and equipment.
This is a good entry-level job for you if you are interested in learning more about how the hospital work, I do recommend this job because you get to interact with all the nurses from different departments and main floors of the hospital. After a year of working, it will be easier for you to switch to another job inside the hospital if you decided to advance your medical career.

I’m a older female , is it heavy to push the food cart to the floor ? How many floors or rooms you have to do ? How many hours you have to work in a days , are they long hours ? Do you get benefit?.

it's depending on where you work at. If it's a hospital, it's all the floors. Mine was 7 floors. However, for SNF (nursing facility), it usually only has 1 floor so it's easier there. For hours, it's usually 8 hours (5 days/week for FT) but for some places it's 12 hours (work only 3 days). For a healthcare job, if it's full time or over 32 hours Part Time, you should get benefits.

In my hospital, usually it's morning & night shift for the 3 meals interval. Usually, night shift will make foods and leave them in the fridge for graveyard. Some busy hospital will have a graveyard staff. It really depends on the area

for dietary, it should be fine. You need to look at indeed website (job searching website) or google hospital or nursing facility around your area to see if there any job opening for dietary job. It is an entry-level job so just send them your resume (whatever you did before that similar to dietary).
