    2) Hospital Career
    3) Direct Patient Contact

    Cons:
    1) Busy Schedule
    2) Constant Movement
    3) Less Time with Patients
    4) High Stress

    I start as an ER Tech next week. I have zero experience in healthcare since I’ve recently gotten my EMT license. Thank you for this video!

    All states are different but you can either be a EMT or CNA to become a ER Tech. You don’t have to just be an EMT only

    • @JohnPhamHealth

      that's true. CA is more strict with its regulation and requirements

      you CAN, however some if not most hospital systems require EMT training for ER tech roles. I think that technically CNAs can serve as techs but I have yet to encounter a CNA tech in my several years as an EMS EMT.

    Thank you for this video, I am currently a CNA with an ERT interview, I enjoyed listening to your thoughts on this position. I can remove myself emotionally from the hospital, I feel like I have a better idea of how to answer questions for this interview.

    I plan on becoming a paramedic, and currently work in hospital transport as EMT. I’m volunteering at 911 service for experience, and am thinking about becoming an Er tech for the pay and the experience with hospital and equipment and performing blood draws, iv, ecg, and hopefully some precedures if iI have good relationship with staff like suturing , splinting, or other skills. I think seeing a higher volume of patients and different classifications (trauma, respiratory, cardiac, septic, etc) would be good learning experience.

      before you are thinking about becoming a paramedic, I recommend looking up the average pay for paramedic around your area. For my place, LA, it doesn't pay much due to more supplies than demand. Hence why my EMT co-workers usually applied to FIRE than working in the hospital (if u want different experiences and trauma situations). Paramedic school takes longer time and commitment than EMT so plan accordingly. Good luck!

    I am going in for EMT license and then I heard getting a Phlebotomy certification or bcls is good for employers . Is taking any of the two necessary? Would u recommend ?

    • @JohnPhamHealth
      @JohnPhamHealth  Před 2 lety +2

      I got my phlebotomy cert and never used it... So I recommend EMT license and American Heart Association BLS for healthcare provider. Most EMT companies want experience while hospital look for 911/trauma experience. Maybe get certification for EKG reading if u want to transition into Hospital ER Tech
