For some reason I love Pep, he's such a good manager that plays a different game compared to some other managers.
I think in terms of the best number 9 he's ever had that fit his type of system perfectly, I think it was David Villa in that elite Barca team he had. Probably the best club team I have ever seen in terms of dominating teams.
he did to Villa the same he did to Henry, shipped him to the left so he could get the best of Messi, in the middle, because it benefited the team, and Villa showed his class by not slowing down on the goals department even playing from the left, he was a really special player
Yeah have to agree with you on this one. Villa was the best villa version in that Barca team. Easily the best sliding celebration ever also. Also the move for Messi to 9 just means a better Messi version. Not only impacting from one side now but able to from both sides. A literal graduation process for him. And shows that 9 really is the most difficult of the positions regardless of arguments. Hence the largest pay packets.
Villa had the best link up with Iniesta. Far superior than Henry, the ball hogging Neymar, Sanchez, Pedro etc.
@@averagebeetle Henry played left because Eto'o played in the middle. Messi shifted to the center only at the very end of that season. Then he started the next one with Ibrahimovic. It didn't work, but yet the idea was to have a number 9, and not Messi in the middle.
The best he had was Aguero
He is student of the game and tries to make the whole team better because that when you recieve the best results. Others sometimes focus on 1 o r 3 players and leave other a bit a stray. Like in Barcelona where for time it was only about Messi and building a team around Messi and after he left the whole building crumbled.

Pep is superior.
His philosophy is great yes but it needs a fat payroll or one team league like Bayern for example. The way he built city and the luxury of players he’s go to buy and then move off if it doesn’t work out is big. Man City maybe not so much this season but before literally had two starting premier league squads. There bench players could literally get you top 4. Rotation was so deep because of the money. Perfect for a league context if coaches had that luxury that are his elite level Klopp, Ancelotti etc they would of dominated the leagues the way he did. The fact he has not won a CL in all these years with those ridiculous teams speaks volumes. He’s not the complete manager like people make him out to he. Zero CLs w the Man City squads and Bayern squads he was is inexcusable.
Her voice is so calm and reassuring...Pep is a top manager
Every country Pep has been at. He has elevated the quality of that countries national team players. The Spanish and German teams won world cups because he had a handful of the starting players.

They're an effective team but they are horrible to watch. Stale dry robotic football! This man has single handedly ruined football ...the quality of footballers have declined year on year the beautiful aesthetics of the game has truly gone.
Man City definitely won't be as good once Pep leaves. They may still compete and win but they won't be as dominant. Good teams usually owe the majority of their success to their managers. City, Liverpool and Chelsea wouldn't be where they are without Pep, Klopp and Tuchel because honestly all professionals are incredible footballers but the thing that makes teams good is organisation, a plan and everyone knowing their job. That comes down firstly to the manager implementing said plan and then it's up to the players to carry it out. City fans better enjoy this period for as long as it lasts because replacing a manager like Pep will be very difficult if not impossible (see United).
@CKM...Might probably stay some extra years if Man City gives him extra pay rise. Would love see him at another PL team who is underdog and see if he has the same rebuild effect.

One of the best Manager in the sport today
Greatest manager of all time
I just want to point some things out to those small section of Liverpool fans that believed in their heart that Klopp is a better manager than Pep. Your point is always that Pep can not do what Klopp did at Liverpool and Dortmund. Let me start by saying Klopp is a great guy and also good at what he does. But to compare him to Pep is like comparing Tuchel to Mourinho or Arsene Wenger. Pep started with Barcelona B team that has just relegated to third tier of football with players like Busquet, Tiago, tello, Raphinha (Thiago's brother) and that same year he got them promoted to 2nd tier playing beautiful football and scoring goals. It was this eye catching football that Laporte (the then president) saw that made him abandoned his plan to sign Mourinho who has been interviewed for the job and his assignment was to resurrect Barca first team who were in crisis then. They have not won the league in 2-3years and they are having issues on and off the pitch which was showing the danger ahead. The way Barca B team played and won most games scoring loads of goals was what trigger Joan Laporte to pull the trigger and go for Pep instead of Mourinho. Nobody at that time thought it was a right decision except Joan Laporte only in Barcelona and Spain. There were talks already that Xavi will be sold, Millan along other clubs are already lobbying for Messi who was just raw talent then (so also his Rashford/Mbappe)and Iniesta too likely to go but instead he sold Ronaldinho and Deco due to their lifestyle then promoted about seven players from the academy Barca B team which include Busquet, Pedro, Thiago etc into first team. Also bought back Pique who couldn't even make match day squad at Manchester United in most cases to replace Marquez and so on. He didn't win his first two games and he was beaten by Hercules or so. Then the team got the grip of what he wanted from them and boom... the club won all six trophies. He didn't have it easy as many of you always claimed but he was a genius to make it look easy. And for some of you that believed that it was messi, infact messi was luck to have him at the time. Messi could have ended up like Newmar, Mbappe or Rashford (these are all good players at their early stages) but what made messi grow and achieved so much was Pep in the early stages of his career. So tell me what Klopp has done that u think this Pep has not done, but many things Pep has invented into football that Klopp even had to copy it to have success.
I like what you said and I could not have said it any better , he does not get the credit he deserves for what he has achieved in the English League (wining all domestic trophies in 2018/19 an achievement never accomplished before by any team in the English league), and all people say is he couldn't have done it with out money, but what you have shown is that he did accomplish amazing things without spending money with Barcelona. He is a Genius and should be remembered as a LEGEND when he finally retires.
OMG you got it, man. Finally someone with a common sense when it comes to discussing Pep's achievements. The laziest argument I have ever heard is if he is so good, why doesn't he go manage a mid table club or something. Really, a guy who started his managerial career with Barca and excelled there is just going to go to Aston Villa? It's like an account director (Barca B coach) who did so well at a Fortune 500 company (Barca) that he got promoted to the C-Suite (manager of Barca B) of that company. Now, you want him to manage your local bank (a mid table team) that has no resources to grow into a global powerhouse. Of course, he is going to join another powerhouse (teams like Bayern, City) that has the resources to grow and that is going to pay him what he is worth.
Pep will always be one of the best, but in Klopp’s defense he took a struggling franchise and made them incredibly successful, twice, without the same financial backing that Pep has had in the past. They’re different.

Changing a configuration of a Formula 1 car and still winning is NOTHING like taking a Ford Escort and winning a Formula 1 race.
@@Chris-zd7gw calm down lad
Ten Hag needs to learn a bit about kicking players out or he will never reach Pep's shadow
May as well watch this while we wait for the Leeds game to be uploaded.
i am a RM fan but pep is admittedly impressive
In a few words, Pep would never sign Mbappe, Ronaldo or Neymar, even on a free
Any manager that is serious about football, maintaining dressing room harmony etc would never sign any of those 3 players you mentioned.
@Lucas. You have a point. I am barca fan and the Reason Pep left in 2012 cause he wanted to Get rid of Pique whom be believes a Bad influenced for Dressing Room. He also didn't want to Buy Neymar in 2013.
Now in 2022 we know both been correct decision by Pep in 2012 and if barca listened to Him, Then they wouldn't face an economic disaster right now and same time sporting disestar.
- Pique is Culprit of creating Catalan gang in dressing room and More focused in Making money than playing. He take academy players to party in night club and ruined their career ( Riqui Puig )
- Neymar Transfer Was a fraud deal and one of the reason former barca president served 2 year in jail..
The Guy seems harsh in his decision but He is dead right every time.
@@ChrisBrown-ir6sf yes pique and neymer 😪
Arteta clearly learned from him...its all about the person first. Thats why I cant see grealish staying at city to long. I think he is too flamboyant for Pep and not producing. Pep is amazing!!
Grealish might stay if he can adjust but injuries in these crucial times wont help. Although Foden does better with Man City than Grealish, I think Pep has a soft corner for Grealish. Also to say to the owner that the huge money involved didnt go waste.
"Incredible" Who knows Peps favorite word
Pep looks at mentality and it shows. Football is a team game where a lot is mental. If you have players whom are good at doing their job, remaining disciplined and willing to cover your teammate as a last resort and confident you will become very dangerous under Pep's guidance. Pep don't deal well with players with huge egos with highly individualistic mentalities because they cherish looking good above the overall effectiveness of the team. This could be in terms of a lack of tracking back, covering and making teammates work harder than they need to.
Did he miss Aguero & Ibra?
I really respect his opinion on the World cup. I think all the managers who complain have a really European-centric mentality; spoiled, self centered and think their way is the best. The World cup in Qatar has a lot of controversy, but it's similar to the corruption involved in other World cup bids. It's good that the World cup is being played in a different part of the World such as Qatar.
@@BakangPrivv how is Qatar messed up more than any other country who hosted? So because they're not a 'football city' they shouldn't host? They can't build the infrastructure to host? Come on man
Exactly
@@BakangPrivv what about South Korea. They literally bought the world cup basically match fixing all the way to the semis
Even Fifa windows are Europe Centric.
Biggest quality I learned from Pep is NOT to complain about circumstances all the time
Interviewer : " Are you concerned about winter world cup".
PEP : "Not a bit. Control what you can control "
the best coach ever
Epl will miss pep
Sums up why he left Sterling go didn’t want to take responsibility for his performances and his interview lacked class unlike Pep’s
CONTROL WHAT YOU CAN CONTROL ❤️
"Really Wow!!"
Understand now why he got rid of Ronaldinho
