- Pep Guardiola has spent six incredibly successful seasons as Manchester City manager.
We have won 11 trophies under his stewardship, including four Premier League titles in the past five seasons.
In 2018, we collected a record 100 points as we won the Premier League by a record 19-point margin, before becoming the first team in English football history to win all four domestic trophies in a single season.
He has had a transformative effect on the entire club, with his exacting standards creating a winning mentality and a clear philosophy in terms of style of football.
During his six seasons in the Premier League to date, City have scored more goals, conceded fewer, completed more passes and had more possession of the ball than any other side.
We haven't just won consistently - we have done so in style.
To celebrate this remarkable period, we sat down with Guardiola during our recent US Tour for an in-depth, unfiltered interview.
Discussing his emotions after our final-day 3-2 victory over Aston Villa in May, which sealed our fourth Premier League title in five seasons, Guardiola says:
“It’s for the fact of winning here. Looking up to see the family in the stands, and yeah, of course it goes to everything that you have.
"It’s not just winning in that moment, it’s because of the disappointment in Madrid, and the tough battle in Atletico Madrid, 13 games or 12 games you have to win to beat Liverpool. There are many things, many aspects that in that moment said, ‘okay, it’s over.’
"I’m pretty sure I would not cry if we lost the game or if we did not win Premier League, but at that moment, the joy, the hug, the people you love; Juanma, Manel, Rodolfo, Emily and Sam, all the people, the staff, the group of staff in that moment, it is a lot.
"Yeah we are well, we are sleeping well, we are eating well, but the last months, they are so, so intense, and for the players as well.
"So disappointment, it was really, really tough for us, how they react after the games, four or five games winning, five-zero against Newcastle, go to Wolves and win one-four, one-five, I don’t remember exactly. These moments, always they are 24 hours living with the tension to do it, in that moment, said, ‘wow, we did it’, and after being calm, you can celebrate with your family, with your friends, this is amazing.
"That’s why it makes sense, our job. I think all the players who were there, all the people who were there, we now forget that specific five minutes what Gundo has done with the impact on Raheem when they start, with the impact from Oleks and everyone, with the ball, the way we celebrate the third goal.
"Bernardo goes from here to across the pitch to celebrate there, and all the staff inside, and you felt it. When everyone pushes in that way, at the end, the good moments always come.”

@@BAT-FA Messi was in the team in 2007 and 2008 and they couldn't even win the league. Guardiola came in, kicked out Ronaldinho and Deco from the team and won a treble on his first try.
"like robots", well, that can be a big problem sometimes, right? for example in the Champions League, where games can't be planned like you want, where quality players turn the scale in your favor instead of mechanic players or... simply unexpected things happen. (Liverpool, Chelsea, Real Madrid and almost Atlético).
The greatest football manager the world has ever seen! 💙
“We will try to do it again.” That last line should send shivers down every fan of other teams
And again and again and again we're not stopping CTWD
Back before Pep came to the PL, SO many people doubted his success in the League. Look where we are at now. So glad he chose CITY, and so glad that CITY management supports him with everything he needs to succeed. He's the Best Manager in the World. Hope he stays for many more years!!!
I was 16 when I first heard the rumours of Pep joining our club, my friend (also a Barca fan) said that we are going to get the best Manager in the world in him. Maybe I was not so sure BUT Pep has been that guy, he has taken, in this modern times, a club which is not just a one hit wonder but now a title winning machine, having embedded "hardwork" in this Club's DNA. We are so so so lucky to have him with us. Thank you Pep for everything!! Stay here forever 💙

Great interview by Sir Pep. I always believe retaining him at the end of every season is a big signing for us. His vision, leadership and good obsession with tactics is amazing judging by how his face light up when you ask him a tactical question. What a top manager he is🙌🙌
Above all he is a humble manager and does not allow his successes to go to his head. The whole Man City family is incredibly blessed to have him. Best wishes to him, his players and staff for the coming season. Come on City💙💙💪
When he first arrived as a coach for FCBarcelona I was obsessed with his mind and how he managed to convinced players to work like they did, amazing pressure, positioning, passing and incredible hormone since then until City that I have seen a team dominate like that.
No words can describe how magnificent this man is, it is such a great feeling to witness the greatness in Pep. I hope he spends many more years at City.
Hes just pure class i hope we have him for another 10 years
Thanks bro
I am a Man City fan, I love to see him managing and international team when he is 60. Pep has given clues that one day he would love to manage a conmebol team and win Copa America also take that team to the world cup.
Loving the last line hopefully he means his gonna renew atleast 3 more years
I pray to God he stays for a few more years. Pep is truly a special human being.
Smart of Pep to give Sterling, Jesus and Zinchenko good exits, to good Premier League clubs, because that tells his current players that if you work hard and succeed at City, you can leave eventually and still have a promising future in top Premier League clubs. It's a good motivator for the players still in the team.
Sterling is done mate 😂, he will be playing for Brighton a year or two from now
@@pierre3615 I have the same suspicion, but my point was about the image this gives to players at City. It's very generous of the club to let them leave to rival teams like that.
@@amacuro what rival’s mate 😂 Chelsea & arsenal are not are rivals, Liverpool is our only rival

GUARDIOLA OUR HERO💙💙💙
Great interview with one of the greatest managers. Pep is one of the sportsmen and managers who have changed my mind almost 180 degrees since he arrived at the city.
He is a top professional and manager - no doubt, but his sharing and giving credit to many around him creates the atmosphere of support and sharing. I have a great respect towards his attitude towards people who are humble and nice. I have heard and read a lot that he couldn’t get well against people like Mourinho or Zlatan but now I see more why. He likes humble people like Zinchenko, Fernandinho, Kevin, etc.
Wish the city team success and may the force with the humble!
With Mourinho, it was different. They were very close during his time at Barcelona but mourinho got bitter cos he missed out on the Barca job… They resolved that already though. Pep is great. He can’t get along with everyone… how many coaches get a hug or is being thrown up after winning a trophy. That also tells you what his players think of him…
Please sack Pep. We need him back at Barcelona
@@adebisioluwabukunmi5470 Pep said it himself over recent years that he will never return to Barcelona as a manager. There were so many factors why Pep left Barca. One of them is the board (the former board of sandro rosell and bartomeu) and the spanish media among two or three other key reasons.

The man is an absolute genius. The greatest football manager of the modern era.
What a guy, I can not imagine City without him.
People ask me why in the City fan. At first it was because I was a Pep fan, but I have since fallen in love with this club. I had the pleasure of watching them play and observe Pep in action at Lambeau fields in Green Bay. I was impressed by the level of quality and class of the entire club leading up to and through the game. The club genuinely cares for the fans. Here’s to you Pep! Thanks for all the great football.
Best manager in the world 🔵🔵
Imagine being a joker like Zlatan to use “Pep doesn’t listen to his players” as a dig/insult. This is a man who’s among the greatest managers in football history we’re talking about, and that’s one of the reasons he’s the greatest in my view. He has his ideals, and he knows how to win!
Any average manager can win with city barca and bayern but only Jose won with inter and Porto
Guardiola was a great football player and captain, and this interview shows a little glimpse of what a great person he is that contributes. Now he is a legendary manager, and I have a huge respect for him even I am not a City fan at heart. I am sure he will be successful in the years to come.

Quite simply the greatest thing ever to happen to this wonderful football club. We should appreciate everything he does for us whilst we have him. 👕👍
Surely the takeover is the biggest thing. Pep wouldn't breeze through the league with average/good players
@@CJM527 can’t argue with that but the takeover didn’t guarantee success, it’s the style of football that he brings and he has guided talented players with potential to what we have today. His enthusiasm is contagious and the entire football club has blossomed under his leadership. Look at some of the academy players and youth teams. We are leading the way in so many fields. It’s great to be a blue at the moment but we are old enough to remember it wasn’t always like this. 👕👍
Was wondering if he’d dare ask if Pep was considering extending but obviously not the time or the place. It’s going to be a sad sad day when he announces it. What a humble man he is.

He’s very focused on mental state of his players, very important fact to keep the team at elite level
Best give this man a lifetime contract if possible
"players with quality to not lose the ball" well said.

That goal line clearance is the best thing walker has ever done on a footy pitch
A very nice, hands on man. All good managers have that ability to put their hands around a player’s shoulders to Pep (😊) them up. Different players have their own way of being motivated. As a Spurs supporter I do still appreciate skill and class. Pep has class in spades.
Of course we want to see wins and beautiful plays.. but even if we have a flop season (which we wont), I wouldn't want Pep to go anywhere!
Love Pep n all his emotions, the players can tell you bout the passion, mood swings, creativity, love for the game, players, fans, etc Thank you Pep🥰
