People don't realise the effort and expertise it takes to manage a dressing room of the best players and biggest egos, and consistently motivating them to improve and want more and stay sold on his methods, Sané, Bernardo, KDB, Sterling would comfortably be the best player on most other teams but they opt to be part of a bigger project under Pep. In 2008 I think he was winless in his first 3 games and there was talk of the sack but then he moved Messi to the middle and the rest is history. Won all 6 cups they were involved in the year after, SAF only ever got 4 in a year I think, money is arbitrary, Pep knows his worth, he won't go win the league with Palace just bc a kid on twitter says his success isn't validated til then. The best teams need the biggest and best managers.

I know people have already mentioned this in the comments but Pep saying that he was born in Catalonia, his "country" is hauntingly beautiful. It shows how deeply entrenched that concept of freedom is in the people of Catalonia and it's nice to see Pep throw that into the conversation so effortlessly almost as if mentally, every Catalan is already free, independent of Spain, the only thing they need is for Spain to acknowledge that they are different.
