Product Sourcing:
When it comes to sourcing a product for review, I will usually either purchase and item personally or reach out to a supplier requesting a sample for review. Many suppliers are supportive if they are confident in their product, appreciating the value of greater exposure.
I am sometimes sent a product by a supplier which I may include if the product fits planned content and I believe will be of interest to you, my audience. The product needs to be worthy of a review and I always make it clear to the supplier that they cannot influence or be involved in the content in any way. It is not in my interest to review inferior or poor quality products and therefore as you might expect many product offers are politely declined.
Any sponsored videos (paid for reviews) are clearly stated as such so there can be no misunderstanding.
Sometimes a supplier will provide a link to the product or the supplier which I am happy to include in the description. Sometimes I will be provided with an affiliate link so I can earn a commission on sales and this helps to support channel costs but never at the expense of an honest review. There is no cost to you and in some cases discounts can be obtained via the link or via an included code.
If a product I have reviewed is available from Amazon I will often include an Amazon link in the description. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. If you purchase a product or service with the links that I provide I may receive a small commission. There is no additional charge to you.

Let me know what you would like to see more of on the channel in the future?
Great job here, Jon! Lots of interesting EDC items to consider.
Regarding pens, one problem I have with bolt-style and click types is the open front... which can be a bit of a problem for inks that are more fluid than the old style viscous ballpoint ink--they dry out faster. To counter that, I prefer a capped pen. I strongly suggest you take a look at Spoke Design. I'm particularly partial to the Roady XL, with its impressive design and magnetic cap feature.
Hey Jon! Have loved your content for a while now.... Definitely the best EDC Chanel in terms of knowledge and quality ect. I would love to see more EDC Videos catered to certain careers for example, I am in the Police Academy and would love a "Best EDC for Police Officers" video. Keep up the great work!
Hey Jon, loved your content for a while now. I must have spent waty too many hours researching the perfect EDC bag. I have managed to put together something that works well for my everyday uses, all thanks to a lot of your recommendations. In terms of future content, I would love more ideas around items to carry for music, electronics and computer enthusiasts. Useful items that can help troubleshoot a computer, or malfunctioning electrical item (such as a faulty vacuum cleaner, which I recent had to help someone with when it failed while I was at their house, luckily my EDC included a useful HOTO brand screwdriver set that let me take it apart) So basically, more videos on items like that
A diy / 3D printed edc special?
All your content is interesting especially the EDC stuff. Could find the link for GAW. ❤
I would like to see EDC for the car, such as impromptu picnic, stuck at a friends house over night, compact emergency gear, and other things along those lines
Classic EDC that should be brought back in to todays life.
My favourite videos of yours are the EDC/travel videos which actually thinks about usability and practicality. Also, I think Jamie should come back for a fun video again soon. Love the interaction between you two!🤩🤣
Best EDC channel! Hopelessly addicted to this subject. My favorites are the pens, flashlights and watches, and... just all of it. Thank you.
my favorite content that brought me to your channel is you travel kit videos. I love seeing your updated get me out of trouble kits
I really appreciate your budget conscious EDC content. That said, I'd love a 'money no object' companion piece...perhaps then comparing and contrasting the two. Thanks for all you do
Absolutely love the gentleman’s carry, and always enjoy your gear hauls, helping me find things I wouldn’t even know to look for. Keep it coming 💪🏽
What I enjoy about your videos is the variety of different gear and gear types covered, so I'd say just keep up the great work and the variety Jon!
I’d love to see more videos on bags and other organizational tools. Tech bags, slings, backpacks, pouches, whatever! I always love the presentation and approach to your reviews and look forward to new releases!
I quite like the idea of seeing what EDC you can get from brick-and-mortar stores and I also enjoy the budget battles.
I can never get enough of your Kit videos(the ready to go pouches), they are a lot of fun and give people inspiration to do their own.
I would also love to see more of the competitions you do with your editor, there are only a couple so far, but there should be a lot more.
I rerally enjoy seeing your grab and go videos and your essentials kits, they are always so well thought out.
My favourite content has always been your travel content especially your packing list from around a year ago. I enjoy watching all your different kits videos for different ones for different environments and situations (favourite kit being your Urban Essentials series or your car kit). Love the content and than you for another amazing video!
Awesome! Thank you!
honestly this is my favorite type of content, the classy side of EDC. My carry goes into more professional environs, and I consider myself a gentleman and EDC geek.
You mean there are two of us!? Maybe we should form a club? 😮
Another well thought out video Jon well done. For me there’s no need to add what i would like to see more off as your videos are ideal. The varied selection of items are right up my street. Also the fact you provide links to everything blows some other channels out the water.
Well Done & keep up the good work
Mike
I can’t get enough of you urban carry episodes! Keep up the good work
Definitely more active use of the items, like the torch tests you used to do. It's always good to see things being trialled in the field so to speak.
UK friendly edc, rucksacks, shoes, quirky gadgets. The sky's the limit.
Thanks Jon. I enjoy seeing what’s new and of quality in the stylishly practical EDC world.
Really appreciate you highlighting these items. Will be looking to aquire several. Thanks again John
My favorite content is the travel gear, plus non flashy stuff like in this video.
Id love to see a pouch EDC video of items for general day to day problems. Hand warmers, bathroom wipes, tech cables, general medicine, stuff like that, but without the “survival” aspect. No need for a water filter, or a flashlight, or a tool kit, just day to day mishap-solver items for your average city person. Thanks for this amazing video!
No flashlight? It gets dark everywhere 😂
@@rjv2241 not for most folks living in an city apartment, driving or taking public transit to the office in the morning, stopping at the cafe for a coffee, and coming home at 5:30pm. Many folks don’t need to be turning on a flashlight when there’s literally streetlights everywhere as soon as it becomes sunset.
Sooo many people live this type of lifestyle, (and many of them are women with pocketbooks that have everything they need), but for a man without a pocketbook, an EDC setup that caters to basic needs (lip balm, wet wipes, stain removers) would be great, and I’m curious what Jon could think up in a pocketable pouch
I've always enjoyed seeing new travel items and general EDC gear being showcased in your videos. It's inspired me to grab a bunch of things you've shown over the last few years to add to my rotation. Making traveling easier and daily carry more efficient.
I love your Gear hauls, and in depth tool reviews. This helped me discover so much stuff.
I enjoy these minimalist gentlemen’s carry
I would love to see a mini feature film, in which you come into situations where a series of nice gadgets actually save your day. And yes, I miss McGyver!
Big fan of your travel videos where you're showing what gear you are packing and all the pouches you pack. Always has me searching for new products!
Great content, as usual, whenever I need inspiration for my daily EDC, I look on your channel, just keep us informed with everything new in the EDC world, thanks.
I have put together several edc carry pouches since watching your channel. Some people think I am crazy until they ask me to get them out of trouble. “Have you a knife or torch lost my keys down the drain” so I would like to see an edc for women to carry dare I say it. Thanks for the content
Me too! I use quite a few of Jon's recommendations in my EDC and travel kits and whilst I don't want 'girly' items I do find a few products a bit too military-looking.
Day to day EDC kits with UK legal contents and parts easily available in the UK are what I like to see plus reviews on edc pouches/cases.
I really like your gear hauls and essentials kits (Altoids/pouch). That is the content that made me discover your channel, it is really nice. I always find useful and affordable stuff in those videos!
I honestly enjoy your edc video especially the ones that are down to earth, like this one, with honest and real things that one can need in a day by day basis. Keep up the good work!
How about a summer outing/event themed video. Fewer pockets to carry items, emphasis on lightweight & slim, plus anything needed for staying cool and sophisticated. Any different choices from today's video?
Another good video. I’m struggling to minimize my EDC, yet have everything I need: Phone, knife/tools, cash and cards(credit and medical), lighter, flash, pen & paper, meds. One problem I have is everything must fit in front pockets (except perhaps phone) so I don’t sit on any sciatic aggravating bulges. It isn’t practical to carry a bag either. I do always wear a belt, and have considered a money belt, but not found one I like, nor tools to carry that way.
Have you looked at swiss army knives? They have alot of choices that would cover most of what you mentioned, pair that with a minimalist/edc wallet and you're basically good to go😊
@@thepunisher9698 oh yeah, I have several. I got a Compact based on Jon’s review. It is a great tool, but still a little bulkier than I’d like. Perfect would be same tools in a slimmer package.
@dougbotimer8005 oh cool! Ooh what about the card version? Depending on how many cards you have to carry, might fit well in a slim wallet
@@thepunisher9698 If only a Swiss card has a bundle hook.
It didn’t occur to me until this video but - edc storage systems/ideas - for those of us who have quietly amassed a lot of kit over the years. That would be helpful as well as interesting.
Your content is already class leading Jon, thank you.
I love this exact type on content, everyday edc, gentlemen’s edc, minimalist edc. Love it all, thanks for another great video. Keep up the content!
I liked a video where you and your friend searched with fixed budget difference gear and then compare your findings.
Really enjoyed this gentlemans edc review, love seeing the high end gear I'll never be able to afford so more of that please. Thanks x
i love your themed videos like this one where you try to come up with a combination that fits a persona. would love to see more of that!
What about gadget friendly clothing? Lots of pockets and unique features. Idk i feel like it's a good video
special item of clothing coming soon!
@@JonGadget could you try to find some from both sides of the spectrum? Budget- high quality?
5.11 Defender slim jeans with their extra pockets and quick drying stretchy fabric are great! Loads of colours too
@singlespeedpunk7744 yes like that. Like you 5.11 is a blackhole for my money. I have the defender straight jeans, couple pants, and love my apex shorts. My shirt jAcket from there has 7 pockets lol
I appreciated this EDC video. I work in an office and I am a graduate student/aspiring philosopher so I don't have too much need for the more rustic tools or tech that edc kits often include. I'm as analog as one can get without losing modern contact with others (Iphone and laptop are my only daily tech) and I love to see videos about pens and notebooks, pouches and bags that are durable but stylish rather than tactical and really appreciate customization in my gear. Thanks for all the content.
Thanks Jon for all of your content, it has helped me put together several of my own EDC kits and in particular the travel kit for carry on...very good indeed. I really enjoyed this gentlemen's kit and would love to see some more high end stuff it really is fascinating and very addictive once you start there is no stopping it.
I enjoy your channel and especially like when you and your mate each make selections of gear and compare your combinations.
I like the new multi tools vids. Especially the ones with replaceable components. Please make more of those. Thank you for all you do!
Really enjoy all your content and your personality is so down to earth, I feel like I’m sitting on the other side of your table having a look 🤙🏻
Another great video Jon! Your travel kit/edc videos are great! Thanks for the great ideas!
Wonderful! I will look at purchasing several of these items which I would not otherwise of known about. Thank you.
I always enjoy vehicle edc videos. I love to see what people prioritize to keep in the vehicle with them at all times!
I particularly enjoy the kit videos! But very much enjoy your content in general! Keep up the good work!
I really like your videos, they started me on my EDC journey. It would be great to see what EDC stuff viewers are carrying, based on different themes, such as the current gentleman EDC.
Keep it up man!
Your ‘kit’ videos are great, I’d love to see more!
I’ve built out the ‘micro urban’ and ‘travel essentials’ kit based on your recommendations already. They’ve become a staple of my edc must haves.
Thanks for all your great content and inspiration 🎉
KIT videos are my favorite - I always try to get the most functionality out of each piece to improve the overall handiness; more bang for the buck. Your kits have inspired me to build my own. Your recommendation of the RoxyVon A3 has made this my favorite flashlight, and I use it every day.
I honestly just love seeing you talk about the stuff you enjoy carrying!ive knly seen a few of your videos, you randomly popped up on my feed a couple.of.days ago, and your teavel toolkit video was fantastic! This video was also great! You are clearly a professional and know what tools and products are good. I love EDC, so more EDC videos are always great, but I've also been teyong to be more handy, so tool videos are also amazing!
I watch your videos from Italy and often take advice from you. I really enjoy the edc showdowns you do with your friend, I would love to see another one of those.
I always like your eclectic and unusual EDC videos, and the faceoffs with Jamie on EDC set-ups are fun!
This is exactly the sort of content that I watch this channel for!
I would love to see more gentlemen edc videos. This video has given me ideas on changing what I carry. I'm going to look into the key holder, knife, and wallet.
Quality and clever designs that really work are priceless and worth every penny!
Love your work Jon, any multi tool and edc content is always a winner for me. Innovative small electronics, charging, data storage, and transfer.
Cheers.
Thanks Jon. I'd love to see more travel edc as I have benefited greatly from your past videos for my regular travels. I also enjoy your multi tool comparison. Keep up the good work.
New items like this new Gentlemens video would be great - utilizing your formats with new items from all
over the world. Thanks much Jon!
Love to see a pocketable UK friendly carry ultimate EDC set up. Small. Useful. Legal. Keep up the good work!
I only came across your channel recently when researching pocket multi tools, and because of your content I went with the Victorinox Huntsman, so as far as it goes for “preferred content”, you just keep posting whatever you feel and I’ll stay an avid watcher.
Your channel is already one of the best EDC here, we love your content, you make a lot of effort in ideas, maybe some outdoor adventure in the woods using some of the tools , van camping, tent and camping gear, and some of your knowledge for some survival tips :) all the best of luck!
I only recently discovered your channel, but I've been really enjoying the content. My favorite kind of stuff usually revolves around watches and EDC knives/multitools. I like to see comparisons between budget, mid-range, and luxury options with pros and cons for each. Thank you for the work you do on this channel!
Your EDC content is some of the best on youtube. Your kits are actually slim and practical and more of those vids would be appreciated!
It was definitely a breath of fresh air seeing the attention to detail. I live in Texas and have a multitude of wares yet no real way to collectively combine all in a classic yet decorative style. The misses would definitely notice. Nice!
Hi, I’ve a big fan of your channel for about a year. I enjoy the variety of subjects you show. I really like the EDC kits you put together and would like to see more of those. Thank You for the great content.
I really appreciate your in depth gear reviews, and commentary on what the best and most useful pieces of kit for general EDC are, highlighting options that are accessible but might not be widely known. Also, your purpose specific kit builds are really handy.
I'd like to see more of the edc battles with you and Jaimie, they're entertaining and educational. The "get out of trouble" kits are good as well.
My favourite content is edc and travel related gear. Travel hacks and tips are great too, as is anything preparedness related. Cheers Jon 👍🏻
I appreciate the fact that you discuss knife and tool carry in non-permissive environments and would even like to see your air travel edc recommendations
I love your channel and I love seeing more of just the random edc gadgets you find that I would otherwise never find on my own. That is also an amazing prize package to be won 👍
I like the unique flashlights you present. Thanks Jon for all the cool videos 😎
I think you do a good job of travel, daily, kit based edc and useful items. Keep on doing what you’re doing. Thanks
Just more of exactly the content you are putting out! Keep up the good work!
I am just getting into EDC, all thanks to your channel. A video for ideal EDC to have in your car would be great, because then size isn’t such a limiting factor. Thanks again for the content.
Definitely, very practical and useful, minimalistic edc solutions is something what I'm interested in.
More themed kits, technology you’re enjoying and little gizmos and gadgets you’ve been playing with. Always appreciate recommendations on gear you’ve actually been using for a while.
I love the channel. I can never get enough of travel gear videos. Also, I would like to see more invovative EDC and travel gear.
Great content Jon, always enjoy the presentation of your videos. Have liked the EDC content, kits and budget challenges. I like that you often include some unique items on some of these as well.
I really think everyone would be interested and intrigued if you'd cover some of your travels. The destination, the likes and dislikes and how your EDC and packing skills enhanced your trips. Love your videos and jump every time I get notified of another awesome edition. Thanks so much
Jon,
Always good stuff. The demo vids, ie traveling, flashlight, etc. really give suggestions for use and basis for comparison.
Hey Jon! I love your reviews and would appreciate seeing more content that covers products across various price points, from budget to luxury. It would be great to have recommendations for entry-level gadgets, mid-range options, and high-end tech, so viewers can find the best choices regardless of their budget. Keep up the awesome work!
Hey Jon, great content as always. I would love to see more videos of you verses Jamie, you two have a great rapport and makes for an enjoyable watch.
Really enjoy the knife, tool and writing instrument content, obviously along with EDC packs.
I like your travel gadgets and EDC pouch gadgets, that inspired me to build 3 of my own.
I would love to see more content on any EDC gear, just like in this video. It's fun to explore some new stuff!
I really like content on ways to carry your edc such as organizers and sling bags. Obviously anything Victorinox is always welcome! Thank you for the chance!
Big fan of the torches you highlight - not many reviewers do. But also appreciate you showing how you pack kits and bags alike
This is the first of your videos I’ve encountered, but its premise is very appealing. I’d happily watch more edc for the modern gentleman.
More bags, brass gear and i love when you review clothing items so more of that please. Love your stuff john!
Love the channel and the content. I really enjoy the "Amazon Finds" videos where you scour Amazon for new, useful or unusual EDC gear. Thanks again for the content!
Really enjoy your videos Jon. For me more head to head challenges with specific restrictions would be fun. Especially if you test the gear. Thanks!
What what brought me to the channel was the keychain multi tool videos, which helped me pick the right keychain multi tool for me.
I'd love to see more videos on your favourite EDCs for different categories of people, such as by occupation or style! You've got a great judgement and make very entertaining videos.
It would be great to see more travel EDC content! But all the videos are great quality and informative. Thank you for all your work!
That was a really great video. I am now the happy owner of the adapt kit, that I saw a perfect use for after watching the tool bag video. Please continue to search for those hard to spot great new items, and let us know your honest reviews about them. Think we all trust your judgements after your many years in the field of dealing with gadgets and EDC gear.
Unique EDC and victorinox are both topics that you cover very well. Thank you!
