- Despite making quite a few Everyday Carry videos, my actual EDC kit has been the same for many years because it just works perfectly for me. After all, your everyday carry is supposed to make life better - comprised of the things you use and carry with you literally every single day.

This is by far, the slimmest wallet I've found, and since I don't like pocket bulk, I don't see me changing it up anytime soon.

(FYI, the TUP uses Micro USB - if you love the form factor like I do, but prefer USB-C, I definitely recommend the T4K which I also own and use as my main travel flashlight. It's a bit bigger but blasts significantly more max output and you can check it out on Amazon here: amzn.to/3r8naep )

I DEFINITELY think this is overpriced seeing as how for a third of the price you can get the aluminum-bodied E3 Plus with basically the same technical specs if Titanium isn't important to you... check out the Rovyvon E3 Plus on Amazon to compare for yourself: amzn.to/3ZobDUY

My Seiko SKX007 was discontinued a few years ago - the Seiko 5 Sports linked above is their modern version. Less water resistance at 100m compared to the 200m of the SKX, but has hacking and handwinding and is still, one the best bang-for-buck entry-level mechanical watches on the market.

This video accidentally became a ‘what to get for the men in your life’ video. Greatly needed and couldn’t have come at a better time; husband’s birthday coming up and I’ve got ideas now.
Flowfold Wallet is an awesome one for a minimalist. I use a ranger band (heavy rubber band) to hold the less used cards and backup cash, then leave my three most used cards loose in front. That system has worked well for years. Keeps cards clean to, for the working folks.
That pocket notebook is great
As a student who choose to reduce phone usage as much as possible, I find those notebooks very helpful
I’ve been using the Carhartt canvas wallet with zipper for a few months. For short lists and quick notes, I slipped some blank business card-sized card stock into the rear horizontal slip pocket and added an adhesive pen loop to that same pocket. Didn’t even have to adhere it - friction holds it nicely in place. Added a Fisher space pen to the loop. Great little compact system that would be fine for a pocket, but I mostly use with a slim cross-body bag. (BTW, I love fountain pens and carry a three-pen sleeve with my planner, but I don’t have them on me ALL the time.) That Lochby looks tempting!
Thank you for this video. I've started to declutter my EDC for the past 3 months and this video helped me even further to put utilitarian thinking to my EDC setup. As i will not put (more) less usefull but tacticool / cool gears 😅
Utmost respect and admiration for your thought processes and vision for creating this and all your videos. Your humble, zen-like approach and tone are captivating, and you are very influential with your knowledge and command of words. Keep on keeping on fam. Love from Bahrain
Excellent idea for a video when your EDC doesn't change! Thank you for this!
This video rocks as all of your videos do. Though I'm retired, I still love my EDC and still carry them today. I no longer work but volunteer and my EDC is still relevant today. Love your videos so keep making them as I look forward to viewing them.
During 13 years as a trucker I carried the Skeletal CX with the 154CM blade every single day for over a million miles. It's seen constant use and still holds up. I've also used D2 extensively and can confirm that it's a workhorse steel.
I purchased the SPEC-DNT at the beginning of the year and love it! It’s so useful especially with hands full with a baby and toddler at times. I would 1000% recommend it. (No typo. I mean 1000%)
Another brilliant video! ❤ By deconstructing your rationale for each piece, I've learned a bunch of new things to consider!
Great job, love your content. Thank you for sharing your EDC kit alternative.

I just built out my EDC and techpack setup! Rocking the dual lamy as well.
What a fantastically put together video. Amazing sir.
D2 and 1095 are 2 of my favorite steels on pocket knives. I own around 300 knives and counting. What many are too young to know is D2 was once considered a premium steel before today's much more complex premium steels. D2 is a true workhorse steel perfectly balancing toughness and resilience. Whenever I see anyone dogging on D2, I know they are merely echoing others who base their negative perceptions purely on price points. D2 is simply a mass-produced steel on a scale larger than all of today's premium steels combined, which equates to a much lesser expensive price point. D2 is a workhorse steel for the working person and not just expensive pocket candy for opening Amazon packages.
Great perspective, mind sharing your top 3 favorites for D2 knifes?
Absolutely fantastic video. You've given me LOTS to think about. Thank you.
Yet another great video! Absolutely love the look of the Carhartt wallet. Seriously considering it!
That RovyVon carabiner is awesome!
Excellent and convincing presentation (as well as video editing). I like the reassuring and moderate tone, the fluent but not aggressive verbal speed of expression, qualities that are very rare among bloggers/youtubers.
I have just one small consideration, strictly personal: I got the shivers when, pointing at the (beautiful) dial of the Seiko watch, you use as a pointer the blade of the Tanto, sharper than a razor. Unless the Seiko's dial glass is made of unbreakable sapphire, it would be enough to touch it with that blade to scratch it irreparably...
I love my Civivi elementum, been using it for 2 years and it’s been pretty reliable. I need to sharpen it though. Great value for the price. Great video as always
Been looking for a video like this, awesome content
Love that you did this. Gave me some new gear to look at which is always fun!
The only thing I'm missing here is what you carry the gear in...
I love watching your videos while meal prepping lol
Love the video, high quality, fun, and informative!!
Chums surfshort wallet is another good alternative to the Carhartt. Two zippered storage areas and a keyring. Awesome content as always 🤙
Another well thought out, informative video! Awesome!!!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
As always, a very well thought out and interesting video, thank you!
I appreciate your intellect.
I've been loving my Lochby pocket notebook case, and I'm thinking of trying to use it as a wallet. Since I also to carry a separate wallet, I sometimes leave the notebook at home and then regret not having it on me when an idea strikes, but if I keep my essentials in it, I'll have to bring it everywhere with me. The only thing is that since it's so large, I have to take it out of my pocket when I sit down, so that'd be my wallet on the table/desk all the time...maybe a little bit more risky for losing it or something. Worth an experiment though!
Great video! I enjoyed and appreciated your thorough explanation! As of September 2023 the Nitecore light is on sale for $50, I think I'm going to pick one up! I love the fact that it has a built-in display for battery status. Does it come with that little carabiner built onto it, cuz that thing is nice too!
I'm a reverse tonto blade kind of guy myself, WAY easier to sharpen 😊. Keep up the good work!
Thank God. Another EDC vid!
I thoroughly recommend the lumentop 2 flash light, or torch. It's a rock solid AA or 1450 light just as good as the top brands.
Thansk for the Inspo Maurice, got me the Lamy and Civivi Elementum.
Love the video, glad I decided to watch it
One thing I'd really love to have in a EDC torch is the red LED. People think the red LED is a gimmick, but nothing preserves your night vision like that red LED. You can reserve the high-lumen torch to flashbang someone when in a pinch XD
Couple of watch-related points:
- what's that gorgeous single-pass NATO on the SKX? I love them NATO straps, and the SKX platform is such a strap monster. You can get a totally new watch just by swapping out the strap for a bracelet or another strap
- worth keeping an eye out: Seiko is releasing an Alpinist GMT. 3-day power reserve, 200m water resist, sapphire glass with AR coating, ultra-hard finishing, all the mid-range Prospex goodies. The catch is that it's a caller GMT, and that the original colorway (gold hands on sunburst green dial) is a JDM exclusive. But that, for me, would probably be *the* GADA watch. Dress, field, travel (or anything that requires you to track two time zones), even some water time? Yes please.
RovyVon have several options for EDC flashlights with secondary red LEDs. They are usually on the side and are designed for flood, not throw, but they are indeed quite useful for preserving that night vision. Personally I use the A8 Gen 4 with the White/Red/UV side lights, and I keep it on my keychain.
Excellent presentation!
My Garmin Instinct 2x Solar Tactical watch has a built-in flashlight, which I never thought I would really use but it always comes in handy and it's always attached to my wrist basically. And I don't really need a flashlight in my bag now!
Beautiful EDC mate.
Hey man! Love the vids! I just recently came across this wallet brand out of Oakville, Ontario: Oaktown leather. From what I've seen of your carry, I think you'd dig it! I bought one of their chestnut oak wallets a few years back and has been holding up amazingly!
Keep up the great work!!!
Sebenza has been my go to for years. Highly recommend if you can get your hands on it.
Was waiting for your videos. Need more videos my friend. 😚
Great ideas
Love your videos dude
This idea is boss...I may Try this concept myself
Excellent video I am going to check out a few things, more on that later. Cheers Vancouver Island Canada
I always enjoy your videos. I wish the Lochby Pocket Journal was bigger so it could hold a 5 x 8 pad of paper. Otherwise, I would have bought one after viewing this video. I did add some of the other items to my xmas wish list, however.
Great video Maurice! The alpinist is such a beautiful watch, definitely one of my favorites
soo...About the book, yeah. This is the first video of yours that I watch, and I just notice that the plane and two pencils that are cliped to the book is quite resemble a spesific event at 11st September
I love the insight into your thought processes when choosing items. Thank you!
Cool video!
Your voice is soothing btw😊
Tactile Turn products are top notch. I own two, and just yesterday was looking for my third. 😅
I'm a huge sucker for my Victorinox Deluxe Tinker, as it serves for most of my daily use needs (LOVE those pliers), but if I had to switch it for a blade, I would go for a kiridashi, cause it covers my package opening and scraping needs (besides my must have of looking non threatening)
The Benchmade 940 Osborne in S90V and Carbon Fiber handle is my EDC blade. It has the reverse tanto style. Very tough.
I use a leather business card holder for my EDC wallet. It's a lot like the Belroy that you show first, and saves you about $47.
I'm a huge fan of that TUP 1000 flashlight. I have one, and I love it.
Nice video! I like your earthy color style, by the way how do you archive used field notes booklets, do you have a system for that?
I've been rocking the Saddleback Leather front pocket wallet, the same one, for over a decade now. HIGHLY recommend it.
Did you know that Seiko is coming out with an alpinist GMT, given your use case that would be the perfect watch for you. Great video as always
Subd. Best edc video ive seen yet.
Great stuff
As the inventor of the antimicrobial pocket tool ( The Copper Shark ) I would love to trade one of your version for one of mine. I love seeing different versions of my creation in people’s EDC.
I've been using the carhartt wallet without the zipper and have had no issues with anything falling out, so I would probably chose the non-zippered version for me because the zipper would scratch my phone in my sling
I'd appreciate it if you could also detail on how to carry edc items. For instance, I want to carry my organiser and pens everywhere I go. But I don't want bulging pockets.. so some ideas on how to carry would be nice.
Great video, you make great content that I love to watch and this was a really interesting idea for a video.
Your flashlight (or torches as we call them here in UK) are exactly the same as mine. TUP on my car keys and WM2 edc.
So good videos! :D
What a video!!
Really all very nice
Thank you
Hi Maurice, thanks for the great content! Can I make a suggestion for a great multi purpose pen which I have been using my self: the Rotring 600 3 in 1. Two coloured pens and a pencil in one fantastic build!! Great thing!!
oh! i was just going to suggest the muji 3 in 1, its probably not as durable but it also comes with black ink, red ink, and a 0.5 pencil lead its one of my favorites :D
great episode, thank you.
Question - with all the travel that you do, how are you able to not have your pocket knives/etc. confiscated at security checks? (context - i had my swiss army tool with dinky blade and scissors taken away from my carry-on in Japan)
okay, this was a nice video, what about a low - mid - and top tier budget EDC equipment
Thanks
I would just add a Kore Essential belt to all this for some support and perfect fit.
Great video, I was wondering what the strap is on your SKX007?
the moment you mentioned d2 steel I'd already know it'll be the elementum
love that crabener but not sure of you can take that on a place thanks to the blade
Damn this is materialistic hell.
Epitomizes the modern worlds "loving things and using people" rather than the other way around.
Question: why not change out your TUP for a Nitecore TINI 2? Has USB C and all of the features you require. Additionally, it is smaller and lighter and has 500 lumen turbo output with a 200 lumen high output. Curious on your thoughts.
Question. Minimal travel EDC vs leisure edc ultimate preparation? Understand what I’m getting at ? 😊
Hello there! What do you think is better between nitcore t4k versus nitecore tup? Maybe 1200Ah e 1000lumen are more usable for daily use?
Hey Maurice, I live in Canada as well. Did you have trouble getting the benchmade given Canadian knife laws?
Main issue about edc's theres always something in ur mind that u have to add and remove in that bag and sometimes its very frustrating😅😅
I'm glad those things work well for you, and have many of them. Those are a fine starting place, for the most part. Some (like the Lamy), I would questing wasting money on. They are eye candy. Some of your stated use cases are potentially dangerous, and certainly bad advise.
Most of your EDC decisions are not horrible, but certainly there are better options available. But, for a beginner, not bad.
My new EDC knife is one I think I will stay with. Swiss Tech Micarta flipper from walmart. I carried A Kershaw Blur since 2010 with the actional knife for a couple weeks. What do you think on this knife. Its selling like crazy!
here is next challenging video: what are the best Car EDC, that you have put in your car for organization, safety, and accessibility. (this includes tool boxes if you do have one in your car.) I will Definity take this video into good use since I am now in college for Mechanical Engineering. another idea could be Dorm organization, cuz my room sucks. I did 12 room iterations, and i feel I'm still unorganized.
Curious if you've tried any CW&T stuff. I love their Pens Type-B and -C and use their Herring Blade daily.
The Seiko Alpinist is just one of the best watches ever made imho.
Hey Maurice! What ink do you use in your Lamy safari? I am using diamine jet black and it dries up on the nib a bit too quickly.
Do you have any videos that feature grid organizers? I think I've perused them all :) thank you!
as far as little anchor points like your flashlight I have switched out the metal parts for a loop of small cord this is because I have had those small metal parts (especially the spring in them) fail
Would the Paper Republic le portfolio be an option for you if you couldn't use the Traveller's notebook? I'd love to buy one but the price simply throws me off. What do you think?
What refills would you use in your alternate pen and mechanical pencil?
This vid was recommended for some reason and I found out that there's a bunch of weirdos that like to carry way too much stuff with them
Please suggest best compact slim power bank (at least 5000 mAh) as our mobile phone is the most important EDC we always carry
One of the troubles I’m having is fitting everything I need into pockets. I’ve broken down and just kept a satchel on me. Any suggestions for better or more effective ways to keep edc items on my person?
For regular guys who can’t afford a $300 knife, something like a Buck 444 or Gerber Remix work perfect. Those are my edc’s.
Hey i got some flashlights you recommended and they look way bigger in your video, can i be so rude as to suggest putting a ruler by the products you rec? Thanks!!
Gostei do caderno de anotações.
The notebook and pen situation though, neither of your recommendations are pocket friendly so how do you carry them or what do you recommend if the goal is “bag less”
Will a flashlight still be a good for self defense or is it only good at night?
You've probably said this on another video, but which nib do you use on the Lamy Safari?
