An all-black EDC, whether you're strict on matte-black everything in your blackout everyday carry, or like a blend of shiny and matte, is super sleek looking. I guess an all-black Everyday Carry kit is so popular because it can be both elegant, or badass, and just goes with everything.
In this video, I break down two COMPLETE everyday carries, 2 full EDC kits that are comprised entirely of black items. An everyday carry to ME consists of a slim wallet, pocket knife / edc knife, edc flashlight, a key organization solution, a notebook (I literally use my notebook more than I use my phone), and a pen (I'm partial to fountain pens). But what constitutes a full EDC to you might be completely different. That's the beauty of our own everyday carries - they're fully custom and based on our own needs.
A cheap edc kit doesn't necessarily mean it's bad - if it works for you, it's awesome. Similarly, an expensive everyday carry kit doesn't mean it's good. Items that are so expensive you're too scared to use them defeat the whole purpose of an EDC kit. I'd love to know: what are YOUR favorite everyday carry things? Lemme know in the comments!

What about matt?
as a german the part about the brand Leuchtturm was pretty funny
haha leustrum hat mich gekillt xD
Same. Had to laugh pretty hard
I think a better choice than the Kaweco ballpoint-which has a frankly pretty poor refill-is the rollerball, which you can replace with any Parker-style G2 refill, such as a Fisher space pen refill, which writes better and has a far longer life. The rollerball is capped, so won’t deploy in your pocket.
What about a Parker pen

Absolutely love your videos, Maurice! The amount of detail and editing that goes into each one is incredible! I think you should definitely continue to make these kinds of videos! I know it must take a tonne of work and time, but we all enjoy them.
Please consider a "tactile" theme for your next video! EDC items which have a fidget factor built in (bolt-action pens, flipper knives, fidget toys, etc.) or simply have a tactile look and feel to them would be great!
Another theme you could try would be a vintage one (natural tan leathers, wood grains, brass/copper, fountain pens, etc.). Keep it up!!!
I like the budget vs expensive, very cool choices for both! Also, you enthusiasm is a nice touch for the video. Good job :)
Love it, except the knives. You went practical for budget with multi-tool, then completely impractical with a self defense korambit? For EDC? 🤔
I always looked down on Swiss Army knives, until I got one. Now I have 2 in my edc. They’re pretty fantastic
@@MattcruzedcAgreed. I carry one on my keys and one in my wallet. Hell, my at home EDC is a Victorinox Waiter. When I have nothing else on me I know I can count on it to do what I need.
@@fg63-6 I have the classic sd in alox on my keys and the electrician usually goes in my back pocket
I wasn't knocking the Swiss Army Knife selection. It's very practical. I'm confused by the impractical self-defense korambit as an edc option.
@@OreoDave I’m not saying you were. I’m saying I did
If you want to pronounce the brand correctly you should call it
(LEU) - Pick the "loy" from alloy
(CHT) - English doesn't have a pronounciation about this but it's very close to "Ssttt"
(TURM) - The word "Tour" with an "M" added to it.
Make sure you speak the words seperately Loysst--Tourm.. And you got it 99% perfect!
Thanks for your video's - I like them a LOT lately!

I feel like that CRKT knife is more of a conversation piece with your buddies than a practical knife. It's beyond cool 👌. I like that both kits are of good quality without sacrificing style on the cheaper end.
You sir need more subscribers.
Nice format, high-quality videos, consistent uploads, also your content is really cool. I subbed!
So amazing to see your comparison between budget and premium version ❤
I definitely am with you on the Swiss Army Knife. I've spent most of my adult life with either a Swiss Army Knife or a Leatherman in pocket or on my hip. For the Swiss Army, I tend to favor the Explorer (or the Explorer Plus, which I don't think they make anymore) and, for the Leatherman, I long carried a Wave, but have lately been carrying a Signal.
Though, the Swiss Army knives I mentioned are definitely the easier options on the budget.
I've settled on the Leatherman Skeletool KB myself. I don't use a knife all that frequently. But it's handy to have something that's so small you don't notice it when it's clipped in your pocket, but still has a useful 6.6cm blade.
I recommend the Swisstool spirit. Better than Leatherman.
You have really great content. I am really enjoying everything you display and the manner in which you describe, and detail, all the gear you present. Such a great channel!
The karambit style blade is strictly for self defence use. I don't have a clue why you choose it for edc. Any other plain edge flipper would have being a perfect example.
Totally agree!
@JJScotty if you are careing a karambit for edc just because it "looks cool" ... you will have to borow a plane edge from your friend to do your job.
Yeah...and it's CRKT. That's the biggest mistake
@@hoguemusic9706 well you know if it was american titanium made how it was presented in kickstarter the price was going to be sky high ...
Loving your videos man. Great work.
Replace the watch with an F91W for true budgetzzz
Good choice. I would personally go with the DW5600E
Black ae1200
@@edelmar17 another fav I actually have that one as my daily beater.
I recently bought a great all-black watch - Santos de Cartie in all ADLC. Super awesome on their rubber strap.
No matter the price point, blacked out always looks good!
The Casio Duro is also an excellent choice for budget dive watch
The Rovyvon torch range, while not black is incredible value for money.
Especially the A8X !
Your choices and presentation are next level, thank you 👍😆
Rovyvon does offer several of their models in black and with USB-C charging.
Came here to suggest the duro. It's $50 and has plenty of features for a reasonable EDC watch.
Definitely do giveaways for the kit that you don't use (like the wallet)! Keep this EDC series coming. I ordered 2 items from your woodlands video last night, and I'm already enjoying one of them today.
Love this side by side breakdown man!
I have been using Ander Pilot 2.0 for 2 years now and its conversation starter for sure just by the looks of it but my only complaint so far is that the cards fall out too easy everyday. This Groove Wallet is something that I was looking for. I would definitely want you to start a giveaway for that. 😬
Great job. Very well thought out and executed.
Really impressive video, lots of new products I’ve never knew before
the Hamilton is an amazing time piece and super under rated. It punches well above it's weight for what it offers
Underrated by who? :)
@@agrulla6791 the watch community. It doesn't get enough respect
@@gundam0816 honestly, never had the impression it was underrated. Anyways, it’s just an amazing watch with a good array of popular dial color-combos!
What does it offer for $2k+
Love this comparison EDC video hope you're inspired to make this a series.
This was an absolutely fantastic video that may or may not drain my wallet as I get introduced to this new world of edc kits. Thank you sir
Your EDC videos make for great content, I always enjoy seeing them, already looking forward to the next one. Cheers from Buffalo New York
the problem with liking all black gear is that it makes it so much harder to find when you lose it 😂
Great video that gets to the point. Thank you
I LOVED this! Thanks
I got a groove wallet in gunmetal with the black leather sleeve on their Kickstart. I love it! Worst case put extra cards in the elastic band, thays what I do with gift cards and such 🤷♂️
I recommend Rotring ballpoint and mechanical pen(cil)s. Theyre made of metal, thus durable and sit well in your hand.
awesome series man !!
I've got boxes and boxes of all 3 tip sizes of the S-Gels.... awesome, awesome pens.
I really enjoy watching these videos even though the idea of carrying anything other than my phone, wallet and keys is crazy.
My go to blackout edc:
Wallet - LV card wallet ~ $400 ish
Knife - Microtech Ultratech Marfione Signature or pj mistress - $600 to $2k
Flashlight - Cloud Defensive MCH - $220
Watch - AP or Patek - $100k to $300k
Lighter - Porsche design p3639 - $130
Notebook: custom leather notebook -$200
Pen - Mont Blanc Heritage or M rollerball $1300
Catch all custom marble tray - $100
Iphone - $1599
Carry - custom $3500
Holster - custom $200
Belt - Hermes Ithaque belt 38 mm -$5420
Great video, thanks. I buy watches under $50 because they get beaten up badly in my job, so $221 as the cheap option was a bit of a shock.
For the knife i would have gone with a benchmade OTF on the more expensive budget side. You never knew how much you love an OTF until you carry one daily, the one hand deploy with little hassle is amazing.
I have 3 microtech otf’s I swap between, but tbf I won them in raffles. So technically I got them for about $90, when new all woulda been over $1k iirc.
the s gel also comes in metal. I've used expensive pens before honestly even in a expensive setting id still use the s gel.
On the high end I’d go for the leuchtturn A6 hard cover with black pen clip. Then either a Parker XL monochrome black or a caran cache 849 code black.
If you think those are cool you should try the Sharpie s gel metal barrel and the kaweco sport pocket fountain ben. Both will blow your mind and a fountain pen will always be the center of attention when you start using it.
never felt this poor when the expensive pen alone is about the same cost as my entire edc carry
This is a great concept
11:09 I did read it. No problem
I’m German 😜
The “anglicised” version actually makes zero sense tbh.
I’d say “Loykt (kt like the end of sucked) + turm (like perm but with a t) would be the easiest and still closest to German for english speakers without breaking their mind and tongues =)
The production in this video is AWESOME!!!! Great work man!
Glad I found this channel
Just got into your channel because of the bellroy/Herschel video, great quality content! I love some blackout edc, and that's what mine revolves around
👍🏼 very nice collection
I slide embossed credit cards face to face on embossed side to save space.
Love the gear. Swiss army in the bag always. For lights ya gotta check out Fenix. I carry the E35 its wild and a decent price point.
Goes to show that you can still have some cool kit for not a lot of money! Great video and production. Love the style.
Well I didn't need a new wallet, but I just bought that budget wallet as it seems like a really amazing product for the price.
I’m used to skipping about 2 min into every CZcams video, I skipped half the video 😂😂😂😂 you earned a sub other people should take notes
That Hamilton is a great piece, but is much more dress watch than tactical or EDC. If you're going Hamilton, stick with the khaki field automatic chrono in all black with day/date. Fantastic watch.
I just found your channel. Amazing content.
That note book is neat.
I love this content!!!!
I have a CRKT provoke and I think it’s with mentioning it is pretty chunky when folded up so it’s hard to carry much else in the same pocket
did bro just list a 220$ watch as budget
Thanks Maurice!
a black bay ceramic would be my choice for blackout watch
yaa as an austrian i cant confirm the way he pronounced leuchtturm
if you really want to go all-black in an automatic watch and don't mind microbrands, then the Safari Vogelkop Superb by Boldr might fit the bill. current version has a Seiko movement alongside all the standard features of a good edc automatic. and at ~400$ it's also on the more budget-side when it comes to watches. only major drawback is the crystal, with the anti-reflective coating on the sapphire being prone to scratches (can be polished out, but it'll be equivalent a normal reflective sapphire crystal then)
Good point! I also think the Hamilton watch is not fitting the bill of ''every-day carry'' or ''blackout'', many would hesitate to do sporty things with it and it also would look odd in more formal and/or low-profile instances. Hamilton is a brand with robust watches, but the Valjoux chrono is not going to be robust in comparison with watches in its price-class (obviously G shock is leagues above in robustness so I won't compare), instead getting a Longines Hydroconquest or Oris 65 in black dial and getting a black Nato strap would be much better in terms of the theme as well as saving you money.
For the black premium watch, I would like to mention my favorite daily used which is Casio MRG-G2000CB. List price is about USD$4000…
Ordering that Kaweco right now
Absolutely loved this presentation, truly excellent 👍👍👍
Well done!!
great comparison and breakdown video! what is the band on the skx? thanks
That night core flashlight might be a keeper. I hate when tech doesn't have a power level display.
It doesn't show up on the US website
Got a tini2 from Nitecore for edc, love it & has 500lm turbo
I think the ekster could have worked for the more expensive wallet.
Great video. Thanks
Not only is the victorynox a knife, it's *THE* knife
Love the Huntsman ...
I think the coolest piece (aside from that gorgeous Hamilton) was the chameleon tape measure. Where did you find that gem??
Never understood the EDC obsession with Knives or Flashlights - never need either when not camping.
Love it!!
i carry a Karambit every day and although i love the Provoke it is just not very practical for its price. The Fox 479 Karambit has been my go to for a couple years now on daily carry. of course when it comes to EDC Knives there is always a preference buts its really hard to beat the 479 on bang for your bucks only being about 150$ on average i snagged mine for a bit less off ebay, but nowadays i carry a Honey Badger flipper for daily use and the 479 is clipped in my pocket solely for self defense. i love seeing Karambits on peoples EDC but honestly the Provoke is overpriced and overhyped in the category there are quite a few that stand out above it. The Emerson Super Karambit only being 50$ more offers way more practical use in everyday situations and self defense then the Provoke its just a novelty knife really. These are just my opinions on the knives if anyone is interested in discussing more about Karambits id love to in the comments espically if you are thinking of buying one for EDC.
I also have a provoke and had been following it since the kickstarter but i have to agree it more of a novelty for my edc purposes i will automatically nix any knife that either opens in my pocket or that i can cut myself one while the knife is closed the second one being the provokes downfall you can easily get a finger in and cut the shit out of yourself or your clothing if it had even a half inch of extra material to be used as a sheild it would be much better ive tryed talking with the designer about this issue and everything and all i got from him was "well ive never had this problem" so it wont be fixed and isn't even on his radar other than that the pocket clip is atrocious it dosent set deep enough in the pocket and also seems to get stuck on your clothing i wanted to like this knife so bad and i had such high hopes for it but for any out there still reading this is a very impractical carry and if your going for a novelty knife just get the paragon warlock similar price point way more fun to fidget with but equally impractical
Thank you for putting me on🤝
Great vid!
I love EDC videos and appreciate all these categories and the engineering of these small EDC items and have many myself but, and I'm not trying to throw shade or anything, but why are firearms never talked about? Or medical supplies. I feel like the most potentially important items are a knife/multi-tool, a firearm and a basic first aid kit, like really basic a tourniquet or two. Then everything else.
I'm a little late, but the Leatherman Signal Multi-tool would've been perfect for the knife section. More fitting for your personal lifestyle
11:07 Im German.... so yeah np 😅. I would actually recommand to pronounce it as (anglicized) "Loy-sturm" (almost like "storm" but with a u). So a quick swap of the u and r makes it closer to what it would sound like.
Could you do one video but just with olive green color?
That knife reminds me of the prime karambit 😂
I'm absolutely adoring your content. So good.
bro imagine getting pulled over and getting ur id to have the cop hear an insanely clunky metal sound, thats one way to meet god
May have gone with a trayvex wallet for the expensive wallet. They're more versatile and for most of them you adjust the wallet it's stupid to the number of cards you need to carry
hey how do you edit your videos and how to film yourself like can you make a tutorial on it
Damm it, now I want to buy all that expensive and lovely stuff!
S gel pens are my personal favorite pen
this guys the goat
Check out the paper republic journals, theyre very high quality and certainly beautiful
