- Vintage Story Desert Life is a desert-themed survival playthough in version 1.19, with a large list of mods to speed up the process of building and chiseling. While our builds will all (or at least mostly) be in the desert, we are not restricted to hot and arid climates for the purposes of gathering materials and resources.
This series exists as a series of VODs, as well, but for people who prefer their videos in a more manageable length, the VODs will be cut into these shorter episodes and released throughout the week after each livestream, provided that there is enough desire for this format.
Want to play along? You'll need the world files and all of these mods (likely) in order for it to work. Download links below.

What a fantastic movie... I think I have seen it like 50+ times at this point in my life and it NEVER gets old!
Unfortunately I have stuff to do today otherwise I'd totally sit down and watch it yet another countless time... xD Everything Mel has made is top notch brilliance and leaves my body hurting from laughing.
I too was hoarding my Meteoric Iron and trying to not use it for much as its so rare. Then while exploring some TLs i came across a Better Ruins ruin and boy ooh boy am i now FLOOOOODED in Meteroic Iron and dont know what to use it for now lol. The ruin was this MASSIVE ruined castle that looks to have been OBLITERATED by a massive meteor. There were like 4 walls that the meteor blasted through before impacting into the ground. There was like 15-20 meteoric iron blocks in each wall and like 200ish in the impact zone, some in a huge blob and a bunch more scattered around buried under the collapsed rubble layers.. it was an absolutely crazy find, sure there was a Bell as well as a Sawblade Locust spawner to contest with while gathering the iron, as you would expect from a Better Ruins ruin. But my god, i came back home with 14 full stacks of meteoric iron pieces and nearly a half stack remainder... im flush with Meteoric Iron for ever now and any i find in the ground are just cherries on top at this point.
Oh yeah, I looted one of those "meteor churches" with @PyrrhP back on the Rusty Gears S2 server! It was wild how much meteoric iron was there!
Lol yeah Treasure + Commodities is an OP combo, especially when you get dummy lucky and have one of each plus a building trader all camped together, because of that trader camps mod, right outside the Village you uhmm, generously bargained for... yeah lets go with that, totally no buried skeletons just outside "town"... xD
Yeah, I'm not sure they can even spawn without a Survival Goods trader... so far they've mostly been the same!
You could make a mold rack for your molds instead of putting them on the ground.
They also look really cool, while a chest would be better storage wise the racks do look great and are enjoyable to use.
I'll probably do that once I'm not actively using them anymore! I'd rather not have to get them out and put them away (and I do find the mold racks to be a little bit fiddly sometimes).
That would be cool, what if using a knife increased the harvest by 10% but if you use a Scythe it would increase the harvest by 30%. The %s could be changed to make more sense if those dont, but it would be cool if for some resources if you collected them with different tools, rather than just your hands, you would get a bonus to the drop #s.
It IS odd that you can harvest, say, carrots and onions with a scythe, considering that they're root vegetables that need to be pulled out of the ground, not cut down!
Why not domesticate the cows? They give tons of food and huge hides
Given how often they spawn in the area, I'm not really hurting for meat and hide--with the goal of this series being what it is, ranching is more of a distraction than anything!
Plus... have you SEEN their faces?!?! Straight outta the Twilight Zone!
@@Kurazarrh true, and they hit hard. Goats are cuter. And fit the dessert vibe. Catch the goats instead 🐐 📦📕 🪤
