Vintage Story Desert Life Ep 45: When the World Went Wobbly

- Vintage Story Desert Life is a desert-themed survival playthough in version 1.19, with a large list of mods to speed up the process of building and chiseling. While our builds will all (or at least mostly) be in the desert, we are not restricted to hot and arid climates for the purposes of gathering materials and resources.
This series exists as a series of VODs, as well, but for people who prefer their videos in a more manageable length, the VODs will be cut into these shorter episodes and released throughout the week after each livestream, provided that there is enough desire for this format.

Honestly i dont think the hoeing of wild cropsnwoll get patched... i think the only real way Tyron could fix that is to make a whole new set of crops, a wild version of every crop that simply drops the regular version seeds for cultivation.
Hopefully this trick will stay around for a long while.
From what I know about the game's design, I don't think making a separate set of "wild" crops is beyond reach. Maybe a few hours' worth of work, perhaps.

@@Kurazarrh Haha! No, I tounge-in-cheek meant the vod title, but I know it really wasn't anything to do with me, just that you used the word 'wobbly'. I dig how they reduced the incredibly malevolent looking giant ethereal demi-god of pure destruction to 'some guy called Dave'.
Seems I have to wait until September to play this game when I get my new desktop, my current PC will run it but it wont be pretty and can't add mods, can't wait to get into it and Version 1.20 may be up by then. also I'll be well prepared having watched all your videos.

Good eye! But at this point in the game, surface copper is generally not worth the time, since we have several nearby chunks with high "deep" copper. Surface copper can only be "poor" or "medium" quality and are pretty small deposits. Deep copper can be 3-7 times larger (and possibly even more!) and can also be "rich" and "bountiful," which is much more worth the time to dig out after the early-game. Though the copper ore blocks themselves can be acquired with the chisel and used for decoration--these lower-quality surface deposits can be great for that.

Once again the temporal storm feels much more puckerful on the episodes than on stream. Is it the constant and higher resolution? Or is it because of the lack of fun chat shenanigans that brought down the browning pantsy level a couple notches down?
I wonder if the chat contributes to the lessening of the pucker meter. Even without silly stuff going on in chat, it IS a distraction since you're splitting your attention.
I know there is a certain thrill to be able to skin drifters during temporal storms but why not get the Instant Drifter Drop mod so you dont have to juggle your fingers around the keyboard/mouse every time you need to do that?
Maybe I like a little pain in my life... XD!
I dont know why you arent getting 6 resin per bucket, unless you have been through and emptied the buckets with in the past 6 in game days...
Then again, ill be honest im now 100% sure on how Acacia yields Resin. All of my experience comes from Resin leaking Pine Trees so there actually might be a different yield rate between the two tree types.
To check, make note of what day(in game) you went and collected resin this stream, then wait 8 in game days before going to check again. If the trees all have resin on the logs and dont have a full 6 resin from the bucket and 8 days have passed without collecting from the buckets then we can say that Acacia puts out slower than Pine.
Might be worth going back ONE more time... time passes kind of slowly in this world since I only play for 3 hours every weekend, plus a bit extra some weeks during chores streams. Since I just also harvested the resin from the trees themselves, I think I only gave them 4 days each time. We'll have to check back possibly in like mid-July and see if the trees have their resin back before we empty those buckets!
