  • Vintage Story Desert Life is a desert-themed survival playthough in version 1.19, with a large list of mods to speed up the process of building and chiseling. While our builds will all (or at least mostly) be in the desert, we are not restricted to hot and arid climates for the purposes of gathering materials and resources.
This series exists as a series of VODs, as well, but for people who prefer their videos in a more manageable length, the VODs will be cut into these shorter episodes and released throughout the week after each livestream, provided that there is enough desire for this format.
Want to play along? You'll need the world files and all of these mods (likely) in order for it to work. Download links below.

Aah the good old Vanilla MC "5x5" build style. Blends in perfectly with vanilla village structures and is perfect for molding awesome buildings out of a simple building method, slotting them together one 5x5 chunk at a time.

But it's good to mix things up a bit! Hence the 7xN bits on the inside. Too many squares/cubes of the same size gets to be too boring. This also Isn't Even My Final Form... I've been looking up different real-world desert art and architecture to put together a polished look for the build after the functional bits are complete!

It's quite astonishing to see the humble beginning of the somewhat-majestic structure standing during the last stream. It's like walking around town and getting hit by nostalgia while looking at a particular corner, noticing how much it changed over the years, saying "There used to be a suspicious person loitering around in that corner..
..now there's a bunch of them. Run." :D

Lol! Yeah it is fun to see that kind of evolution! I hope the final design lives up to your expectations!

I was expecting the eternal mud hut as the permanent temporary solution. So far so good.
I do expect more temporary chessboard with mud umbrella in the future. The 3 pits at the trading post feels like decoratives unless you put something in there each stream, though.

Even though I don't play this game, I very much enjoy your playthroughs and voice. Your videos are great for soothing stress and falling asleep to and your builds are so impressive. Keep up the great work!

Looking forward to the build, it looks promising so far. And a helve hammer at last ... makes life so much easier.

Thank you! I want to really jazz this up with some middle eastern designs and patterns once we get a chance to chisel it. And I am 100% looking forward to having a helve hammer! @.@

I just switched to tailor class last night because my server doesn't have any ... And now I'm noticing I need more windmill power for our helve hammer so I can produce more stuff for tailor only shields. Hope you have been enjoying your experiences too 😄

Ahh, a tailor! You're brave and bold! ;) I've been enjoying myself, though I'm a Hunter, not a tailor.

U should use one of those hot springs to build a boiler room. I would have said it back a couple of EPs but iv been watching the last 50 EPs the past 3 days

Boiler rooms are pretty neat, but they make for boring viewing, IMO. That, and these hot springs are a little ways away from where we settled, so it'd be pretty inconvenient to rush there for each temporal storm. Still, it could be fun to build it anyway!
