    As always the devil is in the details and you've made a good product, an even better one. You've thought not only of how to better the design of the current solution, you've also made it easily serviceable. Brilliant work man. Happy to know these are available for purchase. Thank you!! and looking forward to the next video.

    Excellent bit of kit. I want a set and don’t even have a fairlady (in so many ways 🤣). Great stuff mate. 👍👍

      G'day Ricky, Decent Fairladys are not easy to find IMO, some of them look good on the surface, but can quickly turn out to be used up, temperamental wastes of time. Cheers Mate.

    Would sintered bronze be a better option for the bushings.. Its a self lubricating material (once soaked in oil) they seem to work great in spigot bearing for crank/clutch shafts.. enjoy the progress and thought you go to, for your pride & joy .. cheers

      G'day Mate, Sintered is great in some applications for sure. Its really a high speed, low frequency use material, which is exactly the uses you have pointed to. The Problem with it, is at low load, low rotational speed, its lubricity is pretty much Zero. Which is why I would assume Nissan originally went with what appears to be Teflon in favour of Sintered Bronze on the factory setup. Sintered would be fine to use, but it still would need to be greased imo. Cheers Mate.

    That's a very elegant design Trevor. Fits with the 'Custom Parts' concept at UPP 👍. Think I'll grab myself one upon refitting my gearbox.

    Hi, Trevor great job mate, but rather than the Nylock nut I think I would supply a stainless non-nylon lock nut that would eliminate the Nylon softening problem altogether.

      Dam it, I know you're right. Done up tight it kinda puts that out of the equation, but not completely. I'll head out now & grab a Box of Steel Lok Stainless M8 Nuts. Thanks Mate.

    Love precision everything. One thing that bothered me though, the shank on the bolt will be moved further to one side when the thickness of the shift bars (? is that what they are called? ) is taken into account. I don't see that as a problem as the alignment of the brass bushings are determined by their inner faces when they are torqued, but still...bothers me.

    • @TheAussieShed
      @TheAussieShed  Před rokem +3

      G'day Ben, that was of course factored in to the design. The Alignment is correct when installed. Cheers.
