jaltruff that is correct. I’m referring to Oscars for acting. Other Oscar wins also. I DON’T think Parasite is winning BP, but it’s a lock for foreign language film and has excellent chances for contention in original screenplay and director.

Kathy Bates is going to get nominated for the Oscar, she's been gaining a shitload of traction since Richard Jewell started screening and Supporting Actress this year is weak sauce.
Supporting Actress is the weakest of the acting categories, but even then it's still a good race this year. Just a hell of a year for films in general.

A few major takeaways:
Hollywood is 100% winning best comedy/musical. It was the only film in the comedy/musical category to get a director nomination OR a screenplay nomination, and it got BOTH.
Jojo Rabbit is a safe bet for a Best Picture nomination at the Oscars at the moment and will probably pick up a few nominations there but I can't see it winning anything after this; it only got two nominations and missed out in screenplay and director.
The Two Popes just got a huge boost, 4 nominations from a crowd (HFPA) that you wouldn't expect to go that crazy for it. I think it's time we start seriously considering it as a Best Picture contender.
And finally, Little Women just got hit hard, only two nominations, and got shut out by Joker in both director and picture.

As someone who has Joker in his top 5 of the year it’s absolutely RIDICULOUS Todd Phillips got in instead of Noah Baumbach
Honestly with how much Joker is getting from the Guilds, it wouldn’t surprise me if Todd gets in at the DGA. Also, Joker was loved internationally and one country that pushed Joker to a billion a lot was England so maybe Joker gets a bunch of love at BAFTA.

I think Woodard can still get in at the Oscars, they like doing that with Actress (Rampling, Cotillard, Negga, or even Yalitza, the list goes on). It’s actually a good thing the Globes didnt nominate her here, ask those 4 women lol. Woodard can very well replace Erivo, Globes would never nominate a movie as small as Clemency.
