I never thought these words would come out of my mouth but I actually was much more impressed by the Golden Globe noms because they felt fresh and different while Critics Choice just feels like it’s trying to predict the Academy Awards with really no bold nominations other then maybe Nicholas Cage and Ann Dowd.
Agree!!!
That's how the critics choice awards are. They nominate everyone cause they are trying to be a precursor to the oscars
@@hugopatino-cano672 But they do. It’s streaming on CZcams and their website this year.
@@hugopatino-cano672 There’s no celebrities attending? Where did you hear this?
The slapping the leg reactions never get old
No, actually it really does get quite old. They are acting like children. It’s quite sad to look at.
@@user-dw6mm7jg2z don’t watch then
I've never seen children act like this either.
I don't care about who wins I just like how passionate you get about it😂
Why? They’re so annoying
@@user-dw6mm7jg2z why are tou there? Fk out
@@user-dw6mm7jg2z yeah, I’d love it if they toned things down a little bit xD
I mean, the channel itself talks about movie awards, what else do you expect?? 😂😂😂
@@user-dw6mm7jg2z I mean, this is a channel about movie awards, what else do you expect? There are tons of superhero CZcams channel and you can clearly see the person in the video be so excited by the topic that the people discussing
Quick point: Zegler wasn't in for Actress most likely bc she was nominated for Young Performer. Same thing happened with Helena Zengel last year
Breakthrough performance from young actors always go at the Best Young Performer category first unless they gave a really damn good Best Actress worthy performance, she can be nominated twice. Remember the fact that Toy Story 3 was nominated for Best Animated Feature and Best Picture at the Oscars
yeah but she still isn’t getting actress at the oscars
I feel so much better now that Mitchells vs Machines got nominated for the critics choice after getting snubbed for globes
Puhleeez so much emotional investment in a not so worthy nomination for a not so great cartoon! Lol
The globes are irrelevant and always have been. Its going to get Michels nomnited ever else from the PGA's, Annies (Its the front runner for character animation), and likely the BAFTA.
I think we need to come to terms with the fact that A24 is terrible at running award campaigns . They’ve flubbed the past few years
After 2017, they’ve been terrible after losing their main campaigner to Netflix. Minari overperforming last year was a miracle
@@graysonnoon they need to take a lesson from Netflix or Neon
You guys translated everyone’s feelings soo well when Ann Dowd got in!!
Kristen Stewart getting nominated for both Critics Choice and Golden Globe is the happiest moment I've seen all year. She really a fantastic actress, she just need a better material to work with. She was amazing as Diana, glad to hear a positive response from Diana's former bodyguard about her performance. I can't wait to see her getting nominated for more awards especially at the Oscars, she deserves it. This is her moment to shut down many haters from calling her a bad actress when she has done some good perfomances in other movies
She deserves the Oscar 💯
Yes I love her so much I am Kristen Stewart fan 🥰❤
KStew Nation rise! We’re getting our girl that Oscar.
A, I always knew eventually her time to shine will come but actually seeing it happen is so so good. Kstew for the win.
Andrew Garfield’s family changed the name from Garfinkel to Garfield when they migrated to England
The snubbery of Titane in two major awards bodies on the same day…heartbreaking
Titane is way too cool for awards shows.
Is not surprise, not everybody like it.
Lady Gaga getting all the nominations again for the second time around only on her SECOND leading movie. She is a force to be reckon with she has done and succeeded in EVERY aspect of the Entertainment industry. Lady Gaga is getting Emmys, Oscars, and Grammys nominations all in one award season! Who is doing it like her? She is the Entertainment Industry!
I smell Gaga stan
@@noteliassmith and what's wrong with that? Gaga is a multitalented artist and is coming for all the big awards this year in Music, Movies and TVs. She's a great artist to stan.
You are correct and you should say it.
Me being a Radiohead fan, I want Jonny Greenwood to win an Oscar for score for a least one of the movies he did (Licorice Pizza, Spencer, Power of the Dog)
His strong rivalry is just Hans Zimmer for Dune so this could be interesting, Greenwood for like one of 3 movies vs Zimmer for one movie
It sends me every time they freak out over something not being there
The disrespect to Titane... Far too much. Also kinda sad that Spencer is not happening outside of Best actress
"Spencer" did also get the score nom, but I'm not completely confident if it'll get the Oscar nom yet.
It shouldn't be nominated for best actress, horrible movie and actress
Thanks for getting both of these up today
I don't understand the Leto nominations AT ALL. He's literally doing a "It's-a-me, Mario" voice.
I actually thought he was the best of the cast. Underneath all makeup and accent there was a very human real character. You felt for him
For me it’s because he’s the only one in the film who is doing what I wish the entire cast was doing. It’s over the top and bat-shit crazy, and I wish everyone had gone to the lengths he did. I was as entertained when he was on screen as I’ve been watching any film all year. Considering how poor this category looks at the moment, he’ll likely be my winner in the eventual lineup
Personally, I dont think King Richard is a front runner. All the tech awards it could be nominated for (i.e. editing) are loaded with other contenders. I think its only going to be nominated for Picture, Screenplay (maybe), Actor, Supporting Actress, and Song
and probably win for actor and best song
@@russeluc probably, but I can see something else winning song
@@royalgecko5683 which one?
@@russeluc, maybe No Time To Die, maybe Dos Orgitas, but who knows
@@royalgecko5683 too early to tell.... we'll see
Epic! I don’t know what is more disappointing, Titane not getting nominated because it should have, or Titane not getting nominated because we were robbed of your reaction to that news.
This reaction is basically a one whole meme 😂
i was like „what is this Tea Time movie??“ until I realised u said Titane
Oddly enough, though Titane is by far my favourite submission, I'm unfazed by the fact that it doesn't seem destined to get nominated anywhere. Guess I just conditioned myself early to the fact that it's too weird for voting bodies.
Although it is of little consolation at the moment, there is little doubt that Julia Ducournau's Titane will be admired by film fans for future generations in the form of The Criterion Collection.
you guys’ passion is next level amazing hahah
Nothing for The last Duel:/ I thought It might have more of a chance here since It got snubbed at the Golden Globes but nope
I know, imo its one of the best movies of the year and more deserving than most of the contenders but so far NBR is one of the few groups that chose it
Thanks for your reaction videos to the Golden Globes and Critics Choice. You two are so entertaining. And I've always wondered: Who's behind the camera filming you? Kudos for their work, too!
A tripod obviously
I haven’t been that excited since I was 3.
Rita Moreno won best supporting actress for West Side Story. Now, she nominated again for the same movie in the same category. 😮
Sucks to realize that Spencer is getting 2 noms at the MAX
That's so upsetting. It literally deserves 5+
I was so happy for Ann Dowd !!!
International film "Flee" actually has 2 noms including Best Animated Feature.
Maybe you guys can do a video about movies you look forward to in 2022. Mine are Avatar 2, Babylon, Killers of the Flower Moon and Bones and All. I especially cant wait for Timmy and Luca to be on a project again in Bones and All, hope it will be great.
Critics Choice has never been that much of a "critics" group. They're just like any other industry precursor.
How are we at a point where I prefer the golden globe nominations to the Critics Choice nominations. What a world we live in.
CC has always been trash
I just realized that Bo Burnam should be nominated for best original song if it counts as a film
true
It doesn’t, he was eligible at the Emmy’s, not Oscars
J.K Simmons getting in is an actual joke. He's like fine but you could've nominated Issacs or Faist and...
Dorman is more of a joke in my opinion. Just because Belfast is huge, doesn't mean you also need to nominate him
@@FMRA46 Agreed but we were at least expecting him.

Tick tick boom for best picture
Was waiting for this! To see how you guys will react to Nick cage!
but yet they failed to react to him lol
Drive My car is the best film of the year.
No.
Question: What is the line on the intro? Brother… Bro?
Looking back on this award seasons idk how we ever convinced ourselves that Titane had a chance at major awards
Tick, tick boom getting into picture without supporting actor, screenplay or editing makes me think that it isn't safe. I still have hopes for C'mon C'mon (which was shamefully shut out) to get into Best Picture. Hopefully it can take over Nightmare Alley/Don't Look Up/Tick, tick Boom. Or maybe some non-English film gets in! The Oscars have got to pull out some surprises considering that they sometimes like to do their own thing while the critics choice squandered their potential by trying to merely predict the Oscars and succumbing to bribery
Sooooo sad that c'mon c'mon has no awards season hype yet. Best movie of the year and I only imagine Licorice pizza has a chance of passing it once I see it . HOW TF ISN'T IT GETTING SCREENPLAY NOMS
@@williamreynolds4007 exactly? The fact that it didn't get a single Critics Choice nomination outside of child actor is baffling. Who the hell thought Don't Look Up and Being the Ricardos had better screenplays than C'mon C'mon. Or even Belfast or King Richard for that matter.
Woody Norman, Joaquin Phoenix, Gabby Hoffman, the direction and the score are also easily nomination worthy. I really really hope it can make it into Best Picture along with a couple other noms at the Oscars.
The chaos
I think the reason people (me included) have Jenkins in Supporting Actor are as follows:
- This category is chaotic
- He got in for lead actor for The Visitor
- He is a beloved veteran
- He has two films out this year (The Humans and Nightmare Alley)
There is always something random that turns up on Oscar morning and I don't think it is entirely inconceivable that he gets in, although I agree that it is very unlikely.
i wouldn’t really say the category is chaotic anymore, it’s become so much clearer you’ve got the nominees here it’s five of these six… he’s beloved but not enough to get him in for the humans which no one has seen and got nothing
But you have to think logically… NO ONE saw The Humans. No one cares about it. His performance isn’t even that special either. He won’t even be in the top 15 for voting in that category, you need to let that pipe dream go
@@Lamidemonami7891 It's not a pipe dream, I'm not invested in the choice. I'll leave him in until SAG (good odds on Gold Derby). I think Kotsur is winning at this rate but we'll see.
@@itsybitsy999 it’s not even a pipe dream, it’s so beyond that at this point. It’s just stupid to predict him. There’s no conversation about those performances, no precursor mentions, no hype, etc. No one is talking about him in either of those films, it’s just moronic to even think to predict him when he was never in the running to begin with.
Feels like this and the golden globes accidentally switched nominations
Dowd and Cage is a W.
What is a W?
@@seankoontz4235 W = Win. In this case, it just means I think it’s a good thing they were nominated.
@@sand4273 So difficult to type 'Win'? It's three whole letters. Damn people are weird these days.
I just saw King Richard. I don't get what is award-worthy about it. Shallow by-the-numbers story telling. I had an OK time watching it.
100% agree. Most people are dumb sheep with trash opinions. They enjoy watching safe, cookie cutter Oscar bait like King Richard and CODA.
do you watch tennis or are you familiar with that world? if not then i can see why
@@russeluc I've played and watched tennis and thought king richard was a solid but safe biopic. Nothing horrible about it but nothing that stands out either. It is better than some of the other contenders though
@@idawg7332 i agree that it could have gone deeper but i it's fine for what it is... most likely won't win best pic but it's worthy.. in my opinion
@@russeluc It really doesn’t matter if you’re familiar with tennis or not. It’s objectively not a good movie! It’s meant for people with short attention spans who don’t like to think deeper about the films they watch.
Hell yeah Matrix Resurrections got nominated for Visual Effects thank you
Huge Kermit the Frog energy with the flappy arms boys
When it comes to the tv aspect of things I would like to see squid game sweep all the categories that their nominated for, but we’ll just have to wait and see because the voting committee might have other nominees in mind for the win.
So happy for The hand of god…one of the best film of the year 🤩
Esatto 😍
Alana Haim will be nominated for the oscar
Yeah I sure hope that these two nimrods are wrong. She deserves to be there far more than fuckin Gaga, Chastain, or Kidman.

Frontrunner is a racing term which indicates a horse that runs ahead of the other horses during the race but often does not win. It's not a term that works for movie awards. FAVORITE is more appropriate.
All the entertainment trade magazines use it. Get over yourself.
@@pb.j.1753 Does not mean that its correct - in my opinion. Sorry if my opinion upsets you.
Drive My Car just made the Letterboxd 250, so I think The Worst Person in the World has a true challenger now. Both are masterpieces though.
Both are some of the best I've seen in 2021. "Drive My Car" might be my #1 for now, but I'm still thinking either that or "West Side Story".
Oh Jesus Christ are you kidding me? It’s on the top 250? Not a good movie. People are crazy for loving it.
@@user-dw6mm7jg2z I loved it because I connected with all of the characters and also because Hamaguchi is one of my favorite directors, so I get him when it comes to intent. But that’s just me. His movies aren’t for everyone.
C'mon Nic! I'm rooting for you!
Where's the cat?!
Nightmare Alley is not News of the World, not sure what is wrong with you guys about this film, but you've got it very wrong. It's stronger than First Man too, the level of directorial expertise on display is tremendous, it's completely classic filmmaking that the Academy WILL recognize. Cooper/Blanchett are a stronger pair of performances as well. FYI, the Globes snubbed Nightmare Alley because they weren't given an exclusive screening.
Is nightmare alley really good? It seems that it’s mid tier del toro from what I’ve been hearing, which isn’t a bad thing. But I have been looking forward to it for awhile. Of course I don’t trust cocky mcfuckface and brother bitch over here. They have trash taste in films. Remember when they gave that garbage Hillbilly Elegy an 8/10? Embarassing. Truly embarrassing.
@@user-dw6mm7jg2z Nightmare Alley is his best work as a director, amazing mis-en-scene.

Andrew Garfield & TICK TICK BOOM! must win!!
I wished that Last night in soho got nominated for at least cinematography or editing :/
I wish it got nominated for at least costumes or productuin design. It is what it is though
I'm calling it now: either Chastain or Kidman will lose momentum in the race by February, allowing Alana Haim to clinch an Oscar nomination.
I wouldn't be surprised at all tbh
TPOTD doing so well means Will Smith is not a shoo-in for the Oscar like people were saying
Phone - ouch! My back🤧
Condolences on Titane! GG and CC were in unison then so you can't say one was better than the other over their nominations cause they both snubbed your favorite foreign film. So dont knock down the golden globes cause we all know for all its supposed wackiness the golden globes are a fun awards show! Lol
When it was a show
let's go del toro and steven.
Feel like Belfast is the Picture frontrunner but isn't number one for any other category, which is kind of weird.
I feel like frontrunners for now are West Side Story and the Power of the Dog
I just think critics choice voters look at GoldDerby odds lmao and they use a bit of common sense to take out performances that are way too high on the rankings there lol. Feels more like trying to predict than actual critics picks
I gree
Titane is snubbed as i was expecting that
C’mon, C’mon “C’mon, C’mon” ☺️
I guess this validates snorting arrabiata sauce
I don't get this over-reaction to supposed snubs cause there will only be 5 (or 6) nominees per category so of course some will be left out. If you will make your own list with just 5 nominees for sure you WILL cut or snub some off yourselves! Lol
They didn't realize that woody Norman for c'mon c'mon got in
You film nerds are the best!
Someone forgot to take their meds.... just kidding keep up the energy guys lol.
Well it’s actually no laughing matter. They are clearly off their meds and need help.
The Titane disrespect is violence
SAG and BAFTA are the only ones that matter. HFPA and CC have always been lesser more entertainment based.
I thought the Critics Choice will eat up Spencer.
Fangirling over Ariana DeBose is such a mood but Mike Faist deserves a nomination too
alana haim supremacy
i don't understand the Nightmare Alley hate. of all the movies i've seen this year that was the most "old hollywood big budget studio extravaganza noire thriller starstudded" movie i've seen
Justin!!!
Man, i wish Belle would take Raya's place
Nope, Raya is way better than Luca.
Dune is doing great for a mainstream film.
The last duel, C mon C mon in no categories….
Main reason I'm not ruling out Belle yet for an animated feature nomination is that GKIDS has yet to ramp up their awards campaign for it. Mirai, as a point of comparison, hit L.A. in October and was already in limited release for 3 weeks by this point in the awards calendar. (That's not excusing them for not rallying behind it sooner; it's not like the film hasn't been in the can for a while now.)
Feeling a lot shakier about The Mitchells vs. the Machines after yesterday's Globes snub, though. It's not a homegrown Netflix property so there was always concern about them backing it the way they do their docs and features and that was a clear sign that it's not a priority for them.
Encanto is also looking more like a lock for the win by the day and should coast unless Flee somehow gets bypassed for both international feature and documentary nominations and is able to consolidate its support in a single category.
Despite my Mitchells concern above re: its Oscar nom chances, I actually still have it as the favourite to take the Critics Choice win.
How shocking would it be if Julia Ducournau had an upset Best Director nomination without Titane being nominated for Best International Feature? I would probably have a coronary.
Has that ever happened before?
@@pb.j.1753 I can't recall a precedent for this particular scenario, however the director's guild sometimes goes out of their way to vote for a wildcard foreign director (Pawel Pawlakowski for Cold War, Thomas Vinterberg for Another Round), or a director with a strong, auteuristic vision (David Lynch for Mulholland Drive, the history of nominations for directors such as Federico Fellini and Ingmar Bergman). It's a long shot for Ducournau especially since Titane isn't getting love in the International Feature categories, but it isn't impossible.
Titane is officially out of the Oscar race for International Feature 🤷🏻♂️
What happened to the old setup with the framed posters and the nice light? Bring it back please!!!!

I feel like you just focus on the accent and not the actual performance. I actually thought he felt more real than Lady Gaga. He made Paolo tragic and human
I think he’s by far the best performance in the film. He knows he’s not in a “real” film, so he’s not giving a real performance. Everyone else is trying way too hard, he at least knows how campy the film is

This is the main reason I stop caring about award season/noms. People get angry that their fav aren’t nominated w/o seemingly knowing there r so many other award coming so. I feel u should enjoy a film & not put them on a pedestal based on if it award winning or not. All of this is subjective & opinionated I feel award season divide us & make us forget it about our true love for the arts & entertainment.
Call me crazy, but not only do I think Jared Leto will get nominated at the Oscars, I genuinely want him to win. He gave one of my favorite performances of the year.
You crazy
You confuse chocolate with shit 😉
He actually was the best in it. Everyone focuses on the accent as if that is the only thing that matters. But beneath all that there was a genuine human tragic character. He felt more real than Lady Gaga
He was hilarious and a great performance. I don’t think he deserves the Oscar though in such a stacked year
The supporting actor category here is the worst.
