Emma Corrin hasn't got a single nomination for her work as Diana in The Crown for BAFTA so I'm concerned that BAFTA would do the same thing for Kristen eventhough she did a great job. Best Actress is like the most polarazing category of all the categories, last year was a mixed bag too

True. I think that the chances for peter dinklage to get nominated for an oscar aver very slim. Cyrano will not have any other nominations, while dont look up will have at least 3 or 4. I think Leo is back in the list for best actor.

If you had looked more into the interview, she actually said sarcastically as a joke that she doesn’t care, but then sincerely expressed what an honour it was to be considered in the awards conversation.

Sometimes SAG nominations match almost perfectly with Oscars (there is always at lease one different) and sometimes they are way off (the record is seven different nominees in a single year). I hope this is one of those years where SAG and the Academy strongly disagree with each other because some of these nominations and snubs are crazy.
Edit: For those wondering which years matched the least with the Oscars, they are 1996, 2001, and 2015 (when the movies came out).

My heart broke clean in two when I saw Kristen didn’t get the nomination. Her chances of winning the Oscar just plummeted to rock bottom. Nobody’s ever won Best Actress without the SAG nomination before. :(
And it really sucks because Spencer was my favorite film of the year, and Stewart’s performance was my favorite of the year, so knowing that a nomination is very likely as far as it will go is the apex tragedy of 2021.

Plenty of actors say that but care in the end. At least in terms of what other roles they are offered. Now I don’t think winning is the key to most roles, but if she misses the Oscar nom too it would really be bad for her career. People often are hired for best projects because they are assumed they could get nominated.
But she probably will still get nominated, since Hudson will not, maybe Zegler has changes however if her movie is loved by the Academy.

I think it's the end of the road for Ellis. Regina King won the Oscar after not being nominated at the SAG awards, but she won everything else.
Stewart . . . I don't know. If Kidman wins the SAG, I think she's toast. If it's anyone else wins it's a bit more wide open because I think Stewart will still get a nomination.
BAFTA is still backing Stewart, I assume. Watch out for real dark horse that is Colman.

Thank you guys for showing Mass some love. I watched it literally New Year’s day to watch the last few new 2021 films I’d been meaning to watch. I think when I ranked it, I had it at number 4 out of the 50 I had seen. And how in the name of bullshit could they snub Kristen? Are they chickenshitting us?!

To be fair, Grace Kelly was in a handful of films that year and won for a Best Picture nominee, whereas Garland only had _A Star Is Born._

I'm getting 2019 vibes. Glenn came out of nowhere at the globes then it was her and Gaga the whole time until the BAFTAS and then Olivia swooped in which led to the biggest shock, upset in possibly all of Oscars history with Colman's win. The internet kept betting on Kristen, but Nicole is comong out of left field. I believe she'll win the SAG and possibly go all the way. But Jessica and Olivia both gave amazing performances, so I wouldn't be surprised if they come in at the BAFTAS and take the gold at the Oscar's.

@@monicamerle1417 I don't disagree. As far as performances go, Jessica completely embodied Tammy Faye. However, I don't think they should just hand out awards because other nominees have already won. If that's the case, they shouldn't even nominate previous winners. It's between Jessica and Nicole for overall story and performance. Olivia was beautiful in The Lost Daughter, but it was a "quieter" role, like Glenn for The Wife. Nicole or Jessica will win.

Anyone else not surprised that Dinklage missed? There just doesn’t seem to be much passion for Cyrano. He could even miss out on the Oscar nom (maybe)
He’s pretty much the dark horse of the race. All of the four other nominees are basically locks at this point. Right now it’s between him and Javier for that last slot, since Nicolas Cage only got the CC, and I don’t think the BAFTAs can shake things up at this point.
The real threat is Kidman and Gaga.

If im not mistaken in past years there was a system in place that a film had to have a certain number of First Place votes in order to be nominated. Late releases such as WSS, Tragedy of Macbeth, Licorice Pizza were all adversely affected, especially when it came to ensemble.
Yeah. The Screen Actors Guild is a very large group of people, it's always hard to get screeners to everyone. It requires time, effort and money.
