The 2022 SAG (Screen Actors Guild) Award Nominations are HERE, and they have officially announced their nominations, and today we take a look at the movies that were recognized. Austin, I feel Matrix resurrections should not have been nominated in stunt category...it is a cash grab poorly executed disgrace of a movie..they should have given that spot to the tomorrow war or wrath of man..also Kristen Stewart deserved a nominaton

Austin Burke The snub of Kristen Stewart surprises the ever living heck out of me!! This just changes everything about the Best Leading Actress race because not only is Kristen probably not winning anymore but Kristen may not even get nominated for the Oscar!! I actually think that Lady Gaga is now the front runner for Best Actress at this point!!
What I’m scared for though is that Jared Leto might actually get an Oscar nomination now for Best Supporting Actor and that terrifies me!! I loved House of Gucci (probably more than most people as it’s my third favorite movie of 2021), but Jared was easily the worst part about the movie!! But, what does make me happy is seeing House of Gucci nominated for Best Ensemble as I think that the cast is still incredible for that movie!! (Especially Lady Gaga and Adam Driver as they were the best parts about the movie to me!!) Seeing House of Gucci nominated for Best Cast Ensemble gives me hope that House of Gucci might actually get in for Best Picture at this point!!

@@AustinBurke Honestly Austin. I just can't with these Wacky Jared Leto performances. The Little Things and now House of Gucci? I guess it means he has a lot of support in the industry but I just think his zaniness is becoming a character in and of itself. Keep up the good work. Peace from 🇬🇧🇬🇧
Not nominating Kristen Stewart was really unexpected . I think she definitely deserved the nomination . Lets hope that she will be nominated at the Oscars . Cool video Austin!

It’s nice to see Shang-Chi get nominated for Stunt Ensemble, the stunts in that movie are crazy, the whole bus sequence is phenomenal.
The Stewart snub was SHOCKING. Especially since she’s the front runner. Not anymore though. Also, Bradley Cooper and Cate Blanchett got in surprisingly but no Mass actors which is just sad. And Nic Cage not getting nominated hurt my soul.
Nic Cage was always only going to get nominated for a critics choice.

They love their stars but the problem is also this, it's SAG-AFTRA. It's not just actor but tv personalities, radio show hosts, social media influencers. Yes, people like Trisha Paytas (no offense to Trisha) can now join AFTRA and have their say in who wins SAG

After being in A LOT top 5 performances list by everyone, Kristen Stewart is not nominated for the SAG Award. This is inexplicable to me.

It was! Amazing film through and through, actually. Go in with no expectations other than the opportunity to spend an afternoon in 1973. NO ONE makes films like PTA.
I am seriously mad The Harder They Fall didn't get a nom. It's hands down the best ensemble, the cast dynamic is unmatched. Shocked beyond life that Kristen was also snubbed, your reaction was epic 😂
That movie is overrated. The acting was almost comical. They were trying to hard to be a western. It didn't feel natural.
Kristen Stewart missing out the SAG is just unacceptable. It only shows a snobbish hegemony in the guild that seems to dispose her off as just a Twilight star.

I am PISSED. How the F did Kristen Stewart not get nominated!?!? HOW. That makes ZERO SENSE!! She has been the front runner from the beginning!!! How the hell did she out of all people not get nominated!? This is one of the biggest upsets in recent years. This is beyond ridiculous. I am speechless.

I personally found Stewart dreadful. That film had no aim or purpose whatsoever. It just existed as an Oscar acting showcase. And that negatively impacted her performance. I'm not surprised tbh.
Plus it's not like SAG have a problem with people playing Diana. Emma Corrin won a SAG last year because The Crown was better in every way shape or form.

I am now firmly believing that Jared Leto will be nominated for an Academy Award AND a Razzie for the same performance in House Of Gucci. Personally, I thought he was dreadful, so sure, I would vote for him for the Razzie!!
I actually dont think it will be Razzie. It was way to serious to be camp performance. Beneath all that make up and accent there was a real character, much more real than Lady Gaga.

Bad/sad news for Anne Dowd not getting nominated for Mass, but then again she did get nominated as part of the ensemble for Handmaids Tale!

In 2019 Regina King was not nominated for Supporting Actress for If Beale Street Could Talk and she went on to win at the Oscars. Potentially we could see something similar at the Oscars with Best Actress for Kirsten Stewart.The BAFTAS will be a good indication. This is probably the most open Oscar’s of all time, especially in the Best Actress category.
It has happened before in the Supporting Actress category when Marcia Gay Harden wasn't nominated for a SAG either and went on to win the Oscar. However, it's yet to happen for the Best Actress category, so we'll se. I think Stewart will be nominated, replacing Hudson, but I have a feeling Kidman is gonna win it.
Kristen Stewart may not have been nominated, but at least Jennifer Hudson FINALLY got a nomination for Respect after no nominations from anywhere else!

Gotta disagree with you on best actor. I just don't see how Will Smith loses this award. He's beloved by his peers, has a sag ensemble nom, and most people seem to wanna see him win. The only award I see him losing is BAFTA.

West Side Story had screener issues with SAG members. That’s why you only see one nomination and not an ensemble nomination. A lot of stuff like this happens with SAG especially. Probably why some other notable films missed too.
I think Dinklage is still safe as the fifth Best Actor nominee. He's definitely getting a BAFTA nomination. Saoirse Ronan missed out at the SAGs but still got an Oscar nomination for Little Women. I think Bardem is the Ford v Ferrari Christian Bale of the season. Golden Globe and SAG nominated but ends up not getting an Oscar nomination.

Wow. CODA is easily my favorite of the Ensemble nominees and it is not likely to win. Really hoping the Oscars go their own way in general.
Idk, it seems like Kristen is having a similar path to Amanda Seyfried's one last year, with the exception that Amanda did not have that much hype before the premiere while Stewart was the top favorite before the movie even came out.
I actually think Stewart will miss out. The movie got mixed reviews, she was the only thing about Spencer they praised. Yes, Being the Ricardos got mixed too but its Kidman, a better actress with a history of nominations plus Aaron Sorkin who we know the industry loves.
It's kind of taking the same trajectory that Jackie did a few years ago.
I kind of agreed, cant say for sure she will not get in, but it feels her being the frontrunner was mostly cause there is no clear one. Im not surprise she miss Sag, she isnt really an actors actress, nor someone with much praises from before, all the others are previus winners and nominees... i actually think Stewart will also miss Bafta
My biggest hopes for the Oscars are Andrew Garfield as lead actor, Chastain as lead actress, and I REALLY hope tick, tick… BOOM! wins best picture
Appreciate ur videos big time! Although well crafted and beautifully written, at the core of Belfast is its family-based ensemble. Like Parasite it’s the type of film that is embraced at SAG.
Im not surprise House of Gucci got the ensamble one, its just looking at the names in the cast, plus two individual nominees, its actually looks like its the strongest on the casts nominated

I am a bit dissappointed that Alana Haim is not even considered for Licorice pizza, she gave a tremendous performance.
From some years, the SAG heve been a place of curve balls and odd choices, leaving the “most reliable in terms of predicting acting Oscars” title, off.
Last year they snubbed, Paul Raci and Amanda Seyfried, they both made it to the Oscars.
Here are my predictions that I hope they’d won:

Andrew Garfield- Tick, Tick… Boom! or Will Smith- King Richard
(But I think Andrew Garfield deserved it more)

The reason West Side Story didn't get an ensemble nom is due to the screener issues. Very few SAG voters actually saw it. I don't consider the miss a knock against it's Best Picture chances.
Reportedly 20th Century Studios didn’t send screeners until some time after Christmas 2021, but I can still see DeBose winning, at least.
Critics are not the fucking industry please dear god get this through your heads. KStew, Bardem, and Affleck are the only real surprises here. I followed SAG screenings of HoG and they ate that shit up. Not surprised at all that it got in ensemble.

Happy for squid game’s four nominations even though it could have been six if they had gotten nominations for best supporting actress/actor in a drama series. With all that said i think because succession and squid game are in the same categories together I think succession is the favorite to win everything even though I would like to see squid game get a win.
There are no TV supporting categories at SAG, and are combined to single acting categories. So technically there could have been more Squid actors, but tough especially when combining lead actors from other shows.
I was definitely very shocked by Kristen Stewart being snubbed since she was the front runner up to this point. 🤧
There was a screener issue with west side story and Cyrano. Don’t think physical screeners went out for either of those movies
Kristen have been nominated for all awards (never left out) this season except Columbus Critics (nobody cares) and SAG Awards. what a huge mistake for them.

Gaga v. Kidman v. Colman (until the BAFTAs)
Is there any one who isn't surprised about the Kristen Stewart snub? Even those few who did not like her performance still have to acknowledge the overall critical acclaim. And don't forget, the Academy can choose up to 10 films in the Best Picture category, so any of those films you mention that were not nominated for Best Ensemble may still be nominated for Best Picture. An interesting fact: The Birdcage was the only film to have won the SAG for Best Ensemble but not be nominated for Best Picture (in fact, it only got nominated for Art Direction and Set Design). The Full Monty, The Return of the King, Slumdog Millionaire, Black Panther, and Parasite won Best Ensemble SAGs and Best Picture Oscars, but no actor in these films was even nominated for an Oscar. Just saying, there are always going to be snubs and surprises in any of these competitive awards.
I want CODA to win the Sag for Best Cast.
SAG is always a little wacky so will see some differences at Oscars. For Actress I think Stewart/Cruz/Hudson will be vying for that 5th slot with Chastain, Colman, Gaga, Kidman in. Which is too bad as would love to see both Stewart and Cruz at Oscars, which could happen still happen and that probably knocks Gaga out. Anyway, I think Kidman is frontrunner but I'd vote for Colman.
Kristen Stewart may be deserving of awards for her performance - But, Hollywood has a long memory and Kristen was not well-liked in Hollywood for years. That's Kristen's fault because she "badmouthed" Hollywood and awards from the beginning - basically giving Hollywood the "middle finger". Hollywood hasn't forgot what she did.

I’m not surprised by House of Gucci. I didn’t like Leto but everyone else was, I think, fabulous…Adam Driver, I thought Al Pacino, Lady Gaga….
There were screener issues with West side story so that may have been a big reason why it missed ensemble.
We got the digital screeners fairly quickly, but yeah, nothing on the physical side. That’s definitely interesting.

There is no Best actress front runner right now. But whoever wins this becomes the front runner. Especially if Colman or Kidman win, because I think they have a better shot at BAFTA as well. A BAFTA and SAG win for me is the best indicator of the winner for the Oscar.

West Side Story got out to screeners too late. Also the streaming effect, again accessibility for some movies like The Ricardo’s for instance, which I didn’t think much of. The Lost Daughter, Olivia Coleman, wow. Still think Gaga has a dark horse chance to steal the Oscar, not Sag. Think Nicole is a lock. Does that community still see Kristin as that kid from Twilight? I dunno. Just my thoughts-a very mixed up year.
I'm not a huge follower of award season but I'm not a massive fan of this year's line up, feel like some incredible films are falling through the cracks, like Nine Days isn't getting a mention (I think it's still eligible)
In retrospect, this was such a mediocre year for movies and even more mediocre for these awards. Like how do you snub Kristen Stewart and West Side Story… That’s just dumb. The only reason I can think of is that these people didn’t see either movie which is a travesty. I sincerely thought Rachel Ziegler would get in… like compared to Gaga and Jennifer Hudson, she was 1000x better. Such forgettable movies getting nominated, but what else is new.

I am most certainly not the first person to do it and won’t be the last (believe me). I have been following awards a good majority of my life and get how the industry works (sometimes the movies I like just aren’t as appreciated as more popular films) but it’s still okay to be disappointed if you watched a performance and was incredibly moved by it and are upset that a body of actors don’t see it the same way. It’s okay to think awards seasons are stupid because at the end of the day, it Is, one day you’ll get what I mean. But I’m sure you’re a movie fan and I hope whatever movies you enjoyed are victorious.
