UK Weather Forecast: Very Cool - Showery Rain Dying Out (Wednesday 3rd July 2024)

Good morning everyone and welcome to todays UK weather forecast on Wednesday 3rd July 2024.
Current Situation: A new area of low pressure is moving in from the Atlantic Ocean...
Today:
Wednesday starts with cloud and showery outbreaks of rain across much of the country through the far south and north east of Scotland are mostly dry. It's a breezy start with strong winds in the north west of Scotland and it's feeling cool, too.
Through the rest of the day outbreaks of showery rain will die out in central and eastern regions but light rain and drizzle will keep going in the west before brighter skies and blustery showers eventually return to Scotland and Northern Ireland. Winds will be brisk with the strongest winds for western Scotland where 40MH gusts are possible.
It will be a very cool day for early July with temperatures of 12C to 19C.
Tonight:
Light rain and drizzle pushes eastwards across England and Wales this evening to be replaced with clear spells and blustery showers to Scotland and Northern Ireland. Temperatures will be quite cool at 5C to 13C.
Tomorrow:
Scotland and Northern Ireland will have sunny spells and heavy, thundery showers which could merge into a longer spell of thundery rain across Scotland later in the day. Much of England and Wales will stay dry with sunny spells. Temperatures ranging from 10C to 22C. Very cool in the north but warmer in the south east.
Outlook:
Friday: Heavy rain for a time across parts of England and Wales with showers for Scotland. Cool or very cool.
Saturday: Heavy showers in the north but dry in the south. Cool.
Sunday: Sunshine and showers. Cool.
