      during the introduction would had been a good place to explain how competitive and fast this commander can win. The competitive build for Old Stickfingers runs 2 creatures and can win as soon as turn one. But i guess that info is irrelevant.

    Rushed Rebirth and Malakir Rebirth are two great and budget friendly additions.
    Metamorphosis is a great burst mana creator. Same for Soldevi Adnate. Both synergise with creatures who have dying effects.
    Morbid Curiosity is a great draw engine. Plus drawing that many cards allow us to discard our heavy hitters.

    I have a Lord Windgrace deck and I named it "Windgrace, Lord of Real Estate"
    And then I have a Mono Black commander deck with 9 interchangeable commanders
    Named "Sacrifice for Value" of the 9 interchangeable commanders, you have K'rryk, Razaketh, Kokusho, DoT Sidisi, Sheoldred, Vilis, Mikaeus, The Haunt of High Tower, and Kuon, Ogre Ascendant. Doesn't matter which I use as a commander for that deck, strategy is the same with slightly different playstyles

    Hey Mitch I think a really strong card to add to this deck would be deadbridge chant. It mills you 10 and then Each turn you get a free random card either on the battlefield (creature) or in your hand (anything else) so get a big boy creature a turn or get back your other recursion spells Yes it's random which sucks but definitely balances the card. Its pretty much consistent card advantage either way and it's like 57 cents on tcg player so definitely budget friendly!

    Far Wanderings is an auto-include ramp card in any self-mill deck with green. The floor is 3 mana to search up one basic to the battlfield tapped--not amazing, but fine. But when you have threshold, it searches up THREE basics to the battlefield tapped. This makes it a ramp card you don't really mind drawing later, because by then you'll likely have a large enough graveyard.

    i love your budget videos because it helps me start a deck i want to make and then over time i can put in more expensive cards i save for. have your ever thought about doing content on pauper edh i just got into it, the 2 main things i like about it is that its always cheap and i think making a deck out of an uncommon creature makes for decks with play styles you see in regular edh but not as fast or strong but still can have really fun interactive games

    Well after watching a number of these, I decided to pull the trigger on ordering one. I've been wanting to make Old Stickfingers ever since he was revealed in MID (was a fun short story and he does give off creepy horror vibes), but wanted a way that wasn't a 2 creature combo/T1 win deck as well which seems to be how most want to build him. But as I'm still being relatively new to the scene, I wasn't sure what creatures you'd want to use for good effects or the various reanimating spells that don't cost an arm and a leg (looking at your reanimate). Then if I like it enough, I can always invest in the more costly/better things later on. Thanks for the video and deck!

    I just tried brewing this dude and ended up going a really different direction. I love how open ended this guy is because you can really run just about any creature in it's colors as a secret commander. I ended up doing a dredge build with golgari grave troll and Gitrog, which pays off with worm harvest. It's fairly linear, but it was also super budget, and really fun to pull off.

    Mitch my guy, this deck is perfect for more "Undergrowth" cards!!! Hatchery spider let's you dig through your library to plop a green permanent to the bf on top of being a 5/7 with reach. Mausoleum Secrets although just over a dollar is a cheap tutor for a black card. Necrotic wound is absolutely a killer removal spell for this build. Giving a creature -x/-x where x is the number of creature cards in your yard is brutal. Indestructible creature getting you down, well Necrotic Wound solves your problem, and on top of that if it dies, it gets exiled instead! And finally Golgari Raiders with haste. Reanimate that bad boy from the yard right after Gaze of granite and swing in for some potential serious damage!

    I made a stickfingers deck a while ago. With the right starting hand I can turn 2 It That Betrays or Artisan of Koz.
    T1: Swap, Sol Ring
    T2: Forest, Dark Ritual, Stickfingers @1GB, ITB to graveyard, Victimize the stick.
    I've also put like 7 demons into my Graveyard and cast Patriarch's Bidding to bring them all out before too. If I'm playing "nice" I will replace the Eldrazi with Demons, if I'm playing mean I'll replace Demons with more Eldrazi.
    It's been fun. Even not T2 a big bad, Turn 3 or 4 it's pretty much a guarantee they're facing something bad.

    WARNING: Old Stickfingers is a COMPETITIVE commander so if you plan to play a deck with him in a more casual setting make sure to explain that in the rule zero discussion. With Razeketh, and Dryad Arbor you can storm into Chatterstorm and win the game on turn 1. Old Stickfingers is 1 of 4 commanders i know that can win turn 1.

    • @danfoxx55
      @danfoxx55 Před 2 lety

      Pardon for being annoying, but do you mind explaining the turn one win? Tried to solve it as a puzzle but I’m new to the game and struggling since dryad arbor isn’t a spell that’ll count towards chatterstorm

    • @MageSkeleton
      @MageSkeleton Před 2 lety

      @@danfoxx55 First you'd of course be making use of the money mana rocks, mana crypt, mana vault, lotus petal, jeweled lotus, etcetera. Your first spell your looking to cast is a spell like Green Sun's Zenith or Finale of Devastation where X=0. This is where your putting Dryad Arbor on the battlefield. Then, depending on if you have the mana available and a reanimation spell in your hand (Three to cast Commander and one to three depending on reanimation spell and two to cast Chatterstorm) you may have to wait until turn two BUT again you may have all the mana you need turn one. Turn two [or after resolving a spell like Green Sun's Zenith] you cast Old Stickfingers with three mana (X=1) and your going to "reveal cards" until you reveal the only other creature in your deck Razeketh the foulblooded. Cast reanimation spell. A few of the reanimation spells require you to sacrifice or exile a creature you control to put a creature from your graveyard onto the battlefield. This is where Old Stickfingers turns into a 0/0 and dies. Sacrifice Dryad Arbor and pay 2 life and fetch Chatterstorm. This is where the higher your storm count is the better but your aiming to at least have a storm count of 4. From here there are a bunch of options to cause "winning the game" including looping Chatterstorm with Elixer of Immortality and remember Lotus Petal is your main source of green.
      You can even loop Cabal Ritual, Weather the Storm, and do Finale of Devastation where X is whatever arbitrarily high number you want where you win at combat with X X/X squirrel tokens.
