Excellent interview! Naiman always is a straight shooter and to me, the most balanced. Many if not most of these “plant based leaders” such as McDougall, Greger & Brooke Goldner all insist the very opposite of what the protein leverage theory proposes. They claim that there is plenty, more than enough protein, protein in plants, that animal protein cause disease , especially to the kidneys, and that we should keep our protein consumption low. This is 180 degrees opposite of what Naiman talks about. Unfortunately, this will lead to much ongoing confusion and frustration in the dietary camps.

Interesting podcast. But no discussion of how much muscle as well as fat does a patient lose on semiglutides? For some patients it's as much as 50%

Adequate resistance exercise while using GLP1 is crucial, in my current exp. Also, maintaining a low lvl of metformin concurrent w tirzepatide ( ie Mounjaro) is being studied as it MAY confer added benefit: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9268041/
