If there’s one thing I loved about Spiral, it’s how they dropped the whole ‘Jigsaw helps people’ / ‘Jigsaw isn’t murdering people’ trope. The killer in Spiral is a grade A psychopath and I love it.
The whole "Jigsaw helps people" was there to truly show how much of a psychopath John Kramer was.

Yeah in this case it's less that he wants his victims to live but rather that his punishment is equally effective regardless of whether they're maimed or killed.
@@jillianleda6732 He probably would for some people, but others would just get worse. Trust me, while some heroin addicts would be helped, others would certainly just develop PTSD and start using harder. Same with other people with mental health issues in the movie. It’s a bit of a tossup if it would help or hurt.

I mean honestly it kinda makes sense. Hoffman was found out after his voice was decoded. The new killers uses the TTS method and i think it sounds pretty nice. He doesn’t have the motive of “you need to be grateful for your life. Here’s a chance at redemption.” He legit wants to kill them. So its fitting that the voice is devoid of humanity in it.
Saw II is definitely my favorite, loved the set up, and I really liked that they had to insert themselves into the traps to get the antidotes. Also I think it has Tobin Bell’s best performance as Jigsaw and a stellar twist ending.
I’m putting this out there for everyone who doesn’t know. Cz mentioned that the blood in Saw 7/ Saw 3D looked pink. The reason for that is because when filming they made the blood pink so when you see it in theaters with 3D glasses it looks more red. But watching it in 2D, the blood will appear more pink than red

I'll remain one of the very few people who actually enjoyed Saw 7 if only for the reveal of Dr Gordon being a secret Jigsaw apprentice. I still believe that it was the best possible way to end the Saw series.

Lol don’t think that rap comment was necessary, I actually thought it was cool. Considering Chris Rock being executive producer and his filmography, it fit nicely IMO. You can’t go wrong with metal but it’s nice to see change.

@Duke Fan 4 Life exactly! Of course rap isn’t perfect and I don’t like all rap but I feel like it fit in well so I didn’t have a problem with it. I feel like if he phrased it differently or even said he was joking and laughed then okay that’s a completely different connotation than what he did in the video which seemed not the greatest.
I've been around since the beginning of rap and I never liked it.
glad somebody else caught that too. the tone & wording of that comment was just.... off. "your rap music" out of "my saw movies" just does not sit right tbh. clearly there wasn't malicious intent behind it, just could've been left out or worded better :/

Call me crazy, but Saw 5 is my absolute favorite. The overall story is weaker after the death of John, but I love the group trap, and I’m a sucker for the “ah crap we were supposed to work together” twist especially when a character monologues that fact. Saw 3’s twist with Amanda is awesome too, but 5 has a special place in my heart
Oh my god, I absolutely agree with you. I can't help it, I know it's a trope but the "We could have actually survived but decided to be selfish instead" is a thing I love. Very human.
Sarah: Saw 3D has the most people involved in the same trap, that being the horsepower trap.

My favorite is saw, got to show it to a couple friends the other day that had never seen it before. Closest thing to watching it for my first time and seeing the ending was seeing them get their minds blown watching it.

Same. I don't find gore interesting and I try to avoid it when choosing movies to watch, but Saw universe is so complex it gained my attention and I just can't stop searching new stuff about it (Saw 1-3 are the best)

I enjoyed Movie Watch Daily’s videos on the Saw series, too. It’s so fun to hear different opinions on the same movie series. Great video, I think I agree with you the most lol

I totally agree that Saw II is the best of the franchise, with Saw III a close second for me. I could rewatch those two over and over and never get tired!
literally watched to make sure that I wasn't the only one who thought Saw II was the best. Kinda sad to see IV not getting much love tho. I personally really enjoyed Rigg and his story.
Sooo many coming from CZ's video. The way the internet connects truly is surreal.
I highly dislike Jigsaw, but strongly believe that Spiral was pretty fine. Both of them came out after supposed "Final Chapter", but the huge difference for me is that Jigsaw parasitizes on the original material, story and characters (like John). Apart from being "sequel" it also introduces several retcons, which not only sound dumb, but also feel so stretched and unnecessary that it's crazy. At the same time Spiral actually does its own thing. Killer has no direct ties to John, has one's own motivation and methods, while keeping the original spirit and attitude "if you don't value other people's lives, then your life has no value either". That being said, Spiral doesn't forget the original and isn't trying to "reboot" the series - John does appear on photos and does get mentioned as the inspiration for this new maniac. But Kramer isn't used for the sake of "see? we have original jigsaw, it's just like original trilogy. see? please like it".
Well... and traps in Spiral were much cooler than in Jigsaw.

Same. The twist in Jigsaw is I think the most cliche twist ever coupled with a lot of plotholes like modern traps in older days? Older than the Bathroom Trap? I won't buy it. Also with flat screen TVs. But I like the antagonist much more in Jigsaw than the Spiral. I just don't like how they used the antagonist with John Kramer and be the first apprentice like, it's the most cliche twist ever for me: "before you, there was me" bullshit is getting old and it doesn't execute well because it retconned the retconned storyline of Saw franchise. It's already twisted but still twisting it to nothing.

i completely agree, i respect that spiral doesn’t really mess with the timeline, whereas jigsaw retconning itself to be the first movie chronologically and giving us ANOTHER jigsaw accomplice out of nowhere who had never appeared prior totally pissed me off. not to mention it’s completely anachronistic, who the hell had flatscreen LED TV’s in 2004???

Saw 6 is definitely one of my favorites!! The traps were my favorite and the concepts behind who was getting punished, how, and why was one of the best of the series. It's hard to say if it's my top pick, as it's hard to single out just one, but it's definitely up there.
Also, I was shocked by how much I ended up enjoying Jigsaw. I thought it was a worthy new entry to the franchise when it was released. Definitely better than Spiral, in my opinion - at least as far as "new" saw movies.

Am I crazy for thinking Spiral might be the best Saw sequel/spinoff?
I mean I went in with the knowledge of it being a reinvention/spin-off with a new killer that utilizes the famous teachings of Kramer to enact justice on those who are meant to enforce justice. I found it interesting it wasn't another disciple, showing the Jigsaw philosophy has spread. As a spin-off, it hit every box for me from an interesting motif, a unique look/feel, & memorable characters that are worth following. Plus the traps don't feel like leaps in logic and are simple yet effective. The final shot with the killer (who I've been calling Piglet) hushing Zeke really worked for me and instantly made me want more of this new storyline in a way that "I speak for the dead" never did. I agree the reveal is probably one of the weakest & rather predictable though it makes up for it with additional time getting to know Piglet as he really is. He's no Kramer, but he works! It also took the Saw 6 approach of having a core statement on a modern issue and did it a million times better and left me shocked that it went there yet happy it did. I'm weirdly more interested in more Piglet/Spiral stories than I am Logan/Saw stories....though neither could beat a Gordon/Saw story
Best spin-off yeah, better than Jigsaw but best sequels, no. Saw II and Saw VI would like to definitely take the spot.
I actually enjoyed Saw VI and would say it is in my top 3 Saw movies.

I really do love Spiral because it is different. It gave me so much emotions and I was so shock in the end that I end up crying because

The main character thought he finally save someone, especially his father only to be trick and watch his father die with no use to help. The killer got away, but it actually has me hope for another movie.
I never could get into Saw, but I love Sarah and her videos so that's why I'm watching this video. 😊🧡

I actually didn't know about CZsWorld, so thanks for introducing me! I've not seen all the Saw movies (so hard to find some movies streaming lol), but this was a great video. I need to find them all so I can figure out how I feel about them all.

My opinion will probably change as I understand the timelines more such as Jigsaw (2017) and because there are so many flashbacks and flashforwards and time jumps but yeah, such a great franchise!!

Interesting and nice rankings. My ranking from best to worst are Spiral, Saw 6, Saw 2, Saw, Jigsaw, Saw 5, Saw 3, Saw 7 and at last place Saw 4. I have seen Spiral twice and really enjoyed it! I like the back to basics detective element of it like the original Saw. I like how the killer was setting traps around the city like Saw 4 and not just in one room. I think Chris Rock did a good job I'm it and Samuel L Jackson was solid and a like the traps too. I like Saw 5, Saw 7 and Jigsaw more than most fans and the original Saw and Saw 3 less than most fans. My least favorite however is Saw 4 because it's boring and forgettable in my opinion.

Wow, it's interesting how different your lists are from each other. (And mine is very different, ahaha). For me, SAW II was always one of my least liked, so I would put it at number 8 for me. (Number 9 would be SAW VII). My fave is SAW III. I have seen that one so many times; I just really love the reveal, wrt Amanda's and John's relationship.
I wasn't familiar with CZsWorld prior to this, but I'm definitely gonna check his videos out after seeing this. Great ranking!!

About the technology in jigsaw, that tech was available, and being early on in John's crusade the tv may have been his own home television, the cameras were what youd find being put up in cities at the time too its just we still use those same cameras, as a civil engineer buying such cameras wouldnt be unheard of as it could be used for security like for the parking exterior of a meat factory for instance. I like the idea that John realizes that he can save costs by buying old junk instead of buying new ones and leaving a paper trail, and that John evolved from his first couple tests.

I'm more in line with your ranking except a couple things. The "twist" in Spiral was blatantly obvious to me. Then I have Saw as the best in this series, as great as the twist in Saw 2 to me it's still no where near the ending of the 1st.
The acting in the first Saw makes it real hard to rewatch.

Omg I’m so happy there’s someone out there that remembers the show Scream Queens! I love Tanedra for the same reason, she’s such an expressive and thoughtful actress! I also love Gabby West from season 2. She was in Saw 3rd 😊 Also weirdly, James Gunn was a judge on that show 😂❤️👻
Massive saw fan here . Love them all really but I find some more rewatchable than others . My worst to best
Saw5- find it boring in parts , like the group traps not the strahm and Hoffman scenes ( find they look too similar, just me ?)
Saw4 - like Riggs
Saw 3 - don’t like slow Jeff , love all the traps
Jigsaw - disa0pointed on first watch , grew on me , agree with why ppl find it least watchable but don’t think it deserves a bad rap
Saw 3D - highly entertaining for me despite the pink blood and bad acting
Saw 6- love everything about this film

The first 4 are by far the best, in my opinion. I have yet to watch Spiral, I'm hoping to watch it soon! My list would closely follow Sarah's. I have such a hard time ranking the first 3 for sure. I always say the 3rd is my favorite, but when I actually go back and watch them again the 2nd one is so good!!😫

Firstly, I do firmly believe that the first 3 are the "real" Saw movies, in the terms that it should've just been a trilogy and that all the additional movies are simply cash grabs rather than sequels (that shouldn't have been made).
However, I'd like to add that I really enjoyed Saw 5 and that it's, in my opinion, quite underrated.
Yes, if you watch them in order, it lacks quite a bit, because the previous movies (except 4 in some aspects) are just superior.
But still, when considering the entire "franchise", it stands out quite a bit - the final five (with the plot twist of them supposed to work together) and the battle of the wits between the detectives is so enjoyable to me!

saw 3 is my favorite its the first one i saw i think i was in middle school or going into high school and it freaked me out the first time i saw it now its one of my favorites the whole series is overall pretty good
