    Extra things not mentioned in the video:
    - The Pegasus has a much better front head light and a brighter, more well-positioned rear brake light, so if night riding is something you do often then the Pegasus might be more appealing for you. (However, I would suggest a handlebar-mounted light as well for either of these scooters while riding at night.)
    - The Mantis 8 comes with a trigger throttle and the Pegasus comes with a thumb throttle. If you are extremely partial to one or the other then this might help you make a decision on which scooter to get. See: czcams.com/video/JogFGquhAg8/video.html

    September 11th i bought 2 Pegasus and a eagle one. Took 6 days to reach my door in las vegas. Love them ! The Pegasus is simple and comfortable. 33 is plenty. The large led screen is cool. Wish that screen came on eagle one. I did a bunch or research before purchasing. This is the video i wanted to see before making a decision but i went for it.

    I have both scooters. I hate the folding mechanism on the Mantis 8, I like the looser steering on the Mantis, I have had two flat tires on the mantis already and it cost me $45 to have a guy fix the flat. I
    like the speed, and the fact it fits in my small trunk. The Varla Pegasus has an easier locking mechanism, good speed, I love that my tires won't go flat, I need to lower my back seat to get the Pegasus in to KY small trunk. All in all they all have pros and cons, but at the end of the day the solid tires I'd what I love.

    Other things to consider, Warranty -Varla 24 mos, Mantis 18 mos and Mantis is out of stock with an alleged ship date of 9/20 (yesterday). Some your earlier video's on the Mantis were worrisome especially the loose frame. Really happy with my Pegasus. It is heavy but it is well built and with a little P tuning the take off is incredible. Only time will tell how they will fair long term.

    another awesome video!!! A couple of things that after riding both scooters perhaps deserve an honourable mention
    #1 The lighting that comes stock on the Pegasus is nice to have...not awesome...but still useful if you're coming home in the dark :)
    #2 The display on the Pegasus is much better than the Mantis
    #3 The brake light on the Pegasus is quite good too
    I must say the weight for carrying up and down stairs is quite a bit ....it's not Uscooter :)

    • @RK9Rides
      @RK9Rides  Před 2 lety +8

      True I didn't cover the lights. I tend to avoid riding at night so I didn't think to compare the lights. I personally prefer the sleeker look of the Mantis 8 and I know other people do too. It's personal preference and it's easy enough to just look at the scooters and see which one you like more. What reason would I have to be biased? Giving an opinion will always seem biased if you don't agree with it
      Edit: also wanted to say that screen size really isn't a huge selling point for me. All it really does it tell me my speed and I rarely look at it while riding anyway. Hence why I didn't factor it into the comparison. Thanks for your comment ☺️

    • @rietzhu
      @rietzhu Před 2 lety +5

      Agreed, I felt it was bias but to be fair I think he genuinely does like the Mantis better, but Pegasus does have better warranty and im a solid tire kinda guy.. Dude, fixing a flat on any scooter is a pain, eats time and it sucks... plain and simple. If Eagle 1 had solid tires i would have spent the extra 300... but I also feel I wouldn't use the top speed much around here.. or id kill myself @40 mph.. lol

    I took a look at both in late '23 and found the Mantis can now be had about $150 cheaper than the Pegasus. The Pegasus also weighs quite a bit more, 66 lb opposed to 53 lbs. One other thing of minor annoyance, you can see the display reads high on the Pegasus (though it is easier to see) showing 33 mph reading as 35, etc. Not as far off (lies) as some units, but the Mantis gets it dead-on. I don't think the Mantis has a seat option though?

    I am thinking about buying Mantis 8
    I'd want ECO (rear drive 48V 18.2Ah 800W Motor, Disc brake EABS), but I only have the option of getting
    PLUS (48v 18.2Ah 2 x 800W Motor, Semi Hydraulic brakes
    ) and
    PRO (48v 24.5Ah 2 x 800W Motor, Minimotors Controller and throttle, full hydraulic brakes, LG battery
    )
    Now, the main thing that makes me wanna get the mantis 8 is the tires are tubeless - could anyone tell me if there is any other brands/models aside from EMOVE Cruiser and Ninebot Max that have tubeless pneumatic tires? while being light enough
    Also, out of the 3 models which would you suggest? I am leaning on the ECO, but can't find it, my only concern is should you spend x2 more for LG batteries if you don't need 75km range (I only need like 20-30km in a day)

    RK9 or anyone that has the Varla Pegasus, I’m looking for a scooter to do some occasional commuting with some steep hills and need a scooter I could put in the trunk of my car. After riding 2-4 miles I would need to fold up and carry into my carry, school, job, metro - with all this folding, would you recommend the Pegasus? I like how easy it looks to undo, but I’m nervous about that pin that is used to latch the folded post.

    What's the point of asking, "Which ~$1000 Scooter is Better?" when you refuse to answer your own question? ANOTHER POINTLESS "WHICH IS BETTER" CZcams VIDEO. Can't trust reviewers who do review like this, too scared to give real opinions.

    They sell you a scooter & when it doesn't work, they will not refund your money, they will not give you another unit, they will barely even talk to you. NEVER buy any Kaabo products, there is ZERO support. It's like playing Russian roulette with your hard earned money. Terrible company with THE WORST customer service possible!

    Using this scooter for short commutes is the way to go, as it makes it really fun. czcams.com/users/postUgkxvyNuxpWiHTNypxG6nyqyf7ywc7Q16PDM Both the levels of speed it allows you to use are very fun, though 20mph can get pretty scary on bad roads. It makes a cool electric sound as it is accelerating. The battery life is also pretty impressive, as I can go anywhere around me within a ~10 mile radius and back home with a full charge. I expected the tires to feel somewhat like a toy, but it is legit, and has pretty good grip on surfaces. Braking on this scooter is also really fun, since you can even do a little drifting if you break hard. The wheels on the scooter are definitely very high quality, as they are wide and well sized. The entire scooter is pretty high quality too. I have fallen on it a couple times because I was being a little reckless, and the scooter still works perfectly fine, with some minor scratches on the sides. I found the brake lights to be very cool as well, since they flash when you brake.
