Just placed an order using your code, thank you for all the good info, I’m an owner of both the Wolf king and Zero 11x, just hours after you posted this video, I got a warning from my local Trail authorities say my scooter is too powerful for the trail, So the timing of this post is perfect for me.

It was the homeless who brought the police over in the first place, I just pass by under 10 mph, pulled me over and told me scooters over 30mph, 50mph can’t be on the trail, mentioned something about 25mph and under; as “motorized vehicle are prohibited”
Received the Mantis 8 500w*2 on the following Wednesday since I am located in the same state as the warehouse (CA); the overall build quality is very good, fit and finish are in line with the Zero 11x and Wolf King, I double-check all the bolts and screws seems all secured; speed and ranges seem as advertised only complain so far are the green powerbar display inaccurately as I ride 3 volts and it dropped to half the bar; another dislike is the regen EABS brake is very aggressive which easily slowed down to a full stop completely. Most certainly a great buy! Thanks again for the coupon and KaaboUSA.
Wow that was fast! glad you like it. Yeah I’ve noticed the same thing with the power bar it makes you think the battery is almost dead but then you can go many many more miles there may be a setting that can be changed but not 100% sure are usually just go by how many volts are left instead of the battery bar.

Great review of the Mantis 8 and a great channel (subscribed). I have been testing this scooter for a while and I really like it. As you mentioned, I wish there was a way to know which mode you are in (dual vs single and Eco vs Turbo). I have their Mantis 10 as well, which is a bit heavier but can go 45mph and has a range of over 50 miles.

@@JeremiahMcintosh Yeah the Mantis 10 is really a beast. Looks like you reviewed the Ariel Rider Rideal as well. They sent me one and I think it is a great full size e-bike for the price. I have been riding it quite a bit and enjoy the geared motor instead of single speed that we typically see in e-bikes.
I agree and it’s the best value out there for bikes of that style like the rad city Mission that has no gears and smaller battery.
Which one do you like more, the 8 or the 10?
You didn't mention the tires. Can you get a flat with them. Also the price of the scooter and done a great job with the video
I really really love the compatibility, color and pneumatic soft tires on this scooter. But had to go with Pegasus cause of the bang for buck. If it had a slightly larger battery with equivalent pegasus top speed I'd go with this as a no brainer, LOL
I saw range tests from CZcams channel rk9 rides, on both the Mantis 8 and the Pegasus. He wrote at top speed on the highest setting, making no effort to conserve power. On the Mantis 8, he got 17 mi and change, and on the Pegasus he got 15 miles and change

@@JeremiahMcintosh Very steep. Check out some videos on San Francisco Hill climbing. Talking at least 20 degrees or more. I live on a steep hill that the cable cars run.

Does anyone bring their Mantis into their office and able to fit it under your desk? How’s your experience with that? I bought the Mantis for commute to work. Now I’m afraid I won’t be able to fit it by my desk at work. I didn’t realize how big it is.
The sides of the mat are like that so you can get to the bolts. It doesn’t come off easily.

No I have not but It’s a big difference over the Hiboy S2 Pro.

DONT DO IT! My Kaabo 8 died a couple months into ownership and support doesn't answer their phones. I'm out 1000+ now and on my own for any kind of repairs...
Better off getting something more mainstream imo...
how is the throttle? I'm curious if it is able to ride wheelies, or if it is not responsive enough like my other scooters
The throttle is responsive but it would be hard to do willies. Even on my varla that’s crazy responsive it’s still hard to keep the front wheel up for long.
I’m thinking about getting an escooter. Which one you like better? This or Varla?
They both have their benefits and it really depends what you are looking for.
This mantis is smaller and around 24lbs lighter than the varla. The suspension seems to be tighter and a lot cleaner look and a bigger stem all the way up.
The varla is around 10-12mph faster has softer suspension and bigger 52v battery But they are both a blast to ride!

I agree it’s nice to have when needed but I think the 25mph of the mantis is going to be plenty fast enough for most people.
@@JeremiahMcintosh yea I’m learning that I like more acceleration over top speed. It would be interesting to see the acceleration compared on both of your fast scooters
varla, nanrobot d6+, zero 10x are all basically the same. I don't think the varla has split rims so changing a tire can be painful. Get hydraulic brakes on any scooter 30+ mph. NR D6+ has a great stem lock. EtwoW GT is amazingly fun and very light. Hell, even the unagi dual is a blast with both tires spinning. Also, grab a wolf king while you're at it.

What’s the fastest you were able to take it ?
On level I had it up to 27 with a full battery but have to do more testing.
Bought a second hand mantis 8 only had 142 miles onit did not even have a mark onit looked brand new.
After a few more miles i noticed a wobble on the front end and thought some thing had just come loose, it turned out the stem had cracked and this is a major design flaw on most mantis scooters. the bottom half of the stem bar is welded and ground back flat but it seems the welds do not penetrate properly and this leads to the stem cracking and is dangerous.
on the mantis 8 the tires that come with them are crap the different ply layers are not bonded properly on the production line and this leads to bulging.
If you do not get the pro versions you will get crap cells in the battery packs and they have high internal resistance and under two wheel drive mode three you will see the voltage sag badly.
After i contacted kaabo customer service they did not want to know or help in anyway shape or form, they do not give a toss.
You do not buy a mtb or moped and they fall to bits after 200 miles.
What is your weight? Speed and range depends on weight.

would you recommend this or the varla pegasus for street riding and overall smoothness pls let me know
They both have their benefits but for me personally I prefer the Kaabo Mantis 8. The suspension is a bit stiffer and it is a bit slower but it seems to have better handling at slower speed and turns, awesome lighting for safety, it’s lighter and has regenerative braking. I still need to do some more tests between the two but that’s my current opinion.
i have the Pegasus and i really like the fact that it has the solid tires. You don't have to worry about tire pressure and flats. Also, the ride is very smooth.
@@JeremiahMcintosh The display on the pegasus is huge and let's you know if you're in dual or single motor mode.
@@ratchfordgeorge solid tyres are shockingly bad and rattle your scooter to pieces within months.

Having the throttle and mode buttons on the same hand is wrong, because you lose grip and control.

I don’t know about the Apollo ghost because I’ve never had one but they are both great scooters! It really all depends on what you’re looking for and if you need the speed of the varla or not.
@@JeremiahMcintosh mainly for communting to school and weekend ride. Where I live is hilly. Just want something that durable and wont break down or wabble
Check out the range test I did with the Kaabo and it will show me going up a bunch of hills which will give you a good idea of what it is capable of.

Dual motor isn't for top speed like this guy thinks. The reasoning behind it is more for traction Like in some snow or in dirt like if going uphill on a gravel road. It would make so much difference in drivability I'd bet. If you are at top speed and hit dual motor you wont go a lot faster. Maybe if you are 300 lbs and the one motor is eating full voltage lol
Is a scooter more fun then ebike?
It really Depends on what you are looking for and everyone is going to have their own opinion whether one is more fun over the other but I enjoy having both and to be able to decide whether I want to just cruise around while sitting or flying around standing LOL.

the scooter is actually 2 800 watt motors not 500
This is the dual 500w version that can be purchased for $949 with my coupon code not $2000 like the dual 800w version sold by other stores.
