Me, my youngest daughter, and youngest son went Southern Illinois trail riding two days ago. You can ride the ebikes and escooters on the trails. I posted a CZcams of the ride.

Congrats on the sub count 🤘. I absolutely love solid tire scooters, well worth not having a flat. Solid tires, once they wear down, actually grip the road better because then they act like a race slick. You do not change vacuum sealed solid tires, you change the hub assembly that has a new tire already vacuum sealed on it. I would estimate that you probably get about three to four thousand miles before you need to make change out. Hub motors usually range a couple hundred dollars but in my opinion versus tubes and tires you're going to spend about the same annually so I will take the no flat trade off. Great video my friend!

I get voltage sag on my Nanrobot Lightning which is supposedly a Dynavolt battery, but I have been riding in a little bit colder temps. I just have to feather the throttle and not go full on it for too long.
I purchased the Pegasus as I watched your review. I really enjoy your videos. I have 147 miles in my scooter and it’s making noise somewhere in the front brake area. It doesn’t sound like the brake pads are rubbing but more of a clicking noise. Also the battery plate Is missing a screw. Do you where to find generic screws for electric Varla scooters?
I have that display on my ebike. You should be able to press the M button to cycle through options that show on the bottom of the display, like total mileage, trip mileage, and one of them being battery voltage.
Just ordered a varla pegasus as my first electric scooter, if i like it like i think i will, i plan on buying the varla eagle one pro too at the end of the year!

Easy to switch the position of the throttle and brake lever if it bugs you, but it didn't bug me.

Solid tires is the reason why I chose the Pegasus over eagle one, tho.. wish-it had hydraulic breaks and 10inchers.

I have the Pegasus (pre-ordered)
First scooter I ever have purchased after many days of research.
There really is no better scooter on the market that includes dual suspension, dual motors and arguably the best display on an electric scooter right now as well as solid tires.
I have 100 miles on it right now and the only thing I could complain about is the brakes as you mentioned and maybe a better skid plate design/handle for transportation. It's more a hassle for me to fold it and transport then just carry the thing set up fully lol.
It definitely handles curves well and especially in the city of Philly and it handles the roads well.
How’s the scooter holding up? Any regrets? I just ordered the Apollo ghost but I like the solid tires on the Pegasus too.
Have you checked out the NanRobot Lightning and Zero 8X? Let me know your thoughts.
@JAKE sorry for the late reply, scooter is holding up perfect, at 430 miles on it right now and of course some paint chip on the side wheel guards and I had to change out the brakes, but after I did that it was as if i got it brand new again. I would say there is a less pep to the step, but I mean for going up to 35kmh I am not complaining still

I have this scooter and it’s been great so far, the ride is comfortable and it’s very quick. I’ve gotten it up to 32.6 mph

@@tdrdronesebikesandscooters8377 sweet, I'm going to have to check it out when I get back home today.. I think Jimmy Chang and Andrew made a comment about compressing the rear shock a little bit so that it doesn't rub against the mounting bracket. Make sure that it is the brakes that you're hearing and not that. I believe they said they had the slight issue whenever they were jumping curbs but a little bit of compression got rid of it.

I personally would spring for the vsett, and get one with 19.2Ah branded battery cells. Its just a much more comfortable ride. Plus the latch on the 9+ is 10 times more secure. The one downside to the vsetts a lot of people were seeing was flat tires. But Revrides sells these with newer tires much less prone to flats. Keep psi at 40 and you'll be good to go. I’m stuck between the eagle one and the pegusis. I love the solid tires. I mostly ride on the shoulder to stay out of everyone’s way, however, that’s where all the glass, screws, nails and debris end up. I like the power of the eagle one but I like the display on the pegusis. I like the key security on the eagle one but I like the thumb throttle on the pegusis. Ah decisions decisions 😑
A liiiiitle bit out of my budget range, but definitely a scoot I'm going to add to ky collection!

I’ve been thinking about buying this as a commuter scooter to get to work. I live up a hill though, relatively steep. Wondering how good this would be at doing hills daily?
I’m sure it could handle the hill. You will probably eat up a lot of battery going up but on the bright side, you’ll have a lot of fun going down.
When you mention flat spotting the tyres that would be from just a skid where you slide by locking a wheel, a power slide is when you slide on power with the wheels spinning, dont know the guy you referenced but have seen enough reviews about solid tyres, so can imagine wide solid tyres would be good for power slides in the wet
Good point. You can't powerslide in a traditional sense with these escooters. He was talking about locking the rear tire and sliding around like you would on a bike or something.

Vsett 8+ is superior in many, many ways. More comfortable, more grip, better suspension, nfc keys, higher quality components and throttle mapping. Most of the pegasus frame is hardened plastic. If you are on a budget the Pegasus will do, but I'd save the extra few hundred bucks and go Vsett if you can swing it!

I recently got one and overall love it so thank you! But I noticed I could not get the speed you got, making out at 26 mph. How can I get your speed and is it more of factory variation or more of a setting thing?
I am fairly light weight so it’s not that.
All settings and adjustment modes are available in the manual that comes with the scooter.
@@GingerOnWheels Wouldn't that just affect acceleration? I am talking more on top speed unless I am misunderstanding p-settings.
@@sirbenjamaicad.6472 no you can adjust the controller amp output and a p setting where power is set 0-100. They effect both acceleration and top speed.
Now for the grand question of this or the mantis 8. I want it too last long if I’m spending a decent amount on a scooter, don’t really care as far a top speed, just want long lasting. I am worried about flats or solid tires wearing out though and have only bike repair shops nearby. Want most range aswell
The mantis is well built for the most part, but has an even smaller battery. No way I'd get something with a 13AH battery, you'd be going back home 10 minutes after you left lol
If you want range I'd get an Emove cruiser.

MAYBE 8-10 miles. The voltage sags a lot on this scooter because the cells they used are like a bird. cheap cheap cheap

@@GingerOnWheels if you mean the issue with the back fender scrubbing. I believe they officially fixed it.
it was new that was why the steering was stiff overtime that well loosen up keep in mind thets normal don't work and in general newer products will be more stiff then older ones that's a good sign that will give you years of good service

I just got mines and some how already damage it. Bent the disc brakes. Now it rubs on the brake pads. But I do like it. The stiff steering is actually good. Better control when your going fast. What I don’t like is that it says 28 miles range and I only get 16 mile range. And it doesn’t warn you that the battery low and it’s about to die out on you. It died out on me in the middle of my ride and had to Uber it back. Varla should of added regenerative breaking. This scooter is like getting a Honda Civic good for commuting but off road is a no no. Oh and you can’t really jump a lot with this scooter.
I got a full 20 miles with only one bar less than half going Single Motor/Gear 2, averaging about 10-15 miles most of the way (21mph max) on paved nature trails with a bit of gravel off-road.
You can pretty easily bend the disc back into shape with a truing fork. Or just a bit of patience and elbow grease. 😁 . Agreed though, it needs more range for high speed riding. Better battery cells for a more accurate battery level would be nice, too. But, for $1000.... it's a steal.

Why do they always seem to make the decks on those high-speed deathtraps so narrow? Canning it at 30 MPH is no joke.
This Varla Pegasus has wide tires at least. They're 3.5" and kinda flat, although only 8" in diameter. The next step up Varla Eagle One's are 3" and rounded, and 10" in diameter. Whether the solid tires for the Pegasus or tube tires for the Eagle One are better for fast speeds I have no idea.
Have you tried a Lime scooter? They're kinda scary going down a hill at 20 mph.
I don't know why a lot of these more budget scooter manufactures don't opt for a shunt so they have an accurate battery percentage reading instead of relying on a voltage readout which is not very accurate, would be a nice feature to see added to these types of scooters, and they aren't that expensive to add either.

More like a budget mantis 8, with solid tires. I was really impressed with the thing though. I've yet to come across a mid level scooter that's this cheap, makes me wonder if they cut corners somewhere, or their profit margins.
@@GingerOnWheels I know your thoughts on Nanrobot but you really cannot judge the brand based on the D4+ 2.0. In my opinion, that model kind of sucks & is a skid mark to the brand.. you should really check out the Lightning & compare to the Pegasus.
@@brandonclement the turbowheel lightning? Varla sells the Eagle which is a rebranded lightning / zero 10x and its sitting in my living room. Not a very fair comparison to the Pegasus imo.
@@GingerOnWheels no, I was referring to the Nanrobot Lightning. 4 in wide wheel solid tires, dual 800 watt motors, 48 volt 18 amp hour battery. This is why I said it needed to have a side by side video compared to the Pegasus. I think these two scoots are are trying so hard not to be brothers. Lol

I just rode my Pegasus for the first time. It was way too fast!!!
It went 25 MPH up a very steep hill! It will take quite a while to get used to this.
The latest batch of Varla Pegasus scooters have issues with the batteries not reaching the full charge potential and top speed. I have been going back and forth with support (11 emails so far) where I am clearly showing them the voltage sag and they are telling me that's normal, but are not addressing the -4MPH to advertised speed either. They offered a bag as compensation instead of replacing the controller or cheap celled batter. Video on my page. You have been warned.
Uhm. Voltage sag is normal on cheap Chinese batteries, just like I mentioned in this video. It IS normal. 4mph speed is probably because its winter. Lithium batteries discharge slower in the cold.
Good review man. The real question is, "would I buy one with my money?"
No way, the quality control is just not there, but close, if the Chinese company that makes it spends another $4.50 USD on the bottom line and actually takes pride in what they make, an treats it's factory employees with respect, then look out competion.
For the mean time, garbage bin fodder.
