I've worked several jobs in the service industry (fast food restaurants, coffee shops, restaurants) and I've always had an immense amount of respect for the people who do these jobs. Which is why I was very upset when I saw people pranking helpless essential workers, so I made a video about it. Enjoy!

Yeah my grandma was VERY comfortable telling me to take my skirt of in the middle of a Walmart…. She definitely undressed multiple time in her day. I mean I might take of my jacket to try on one in like a thrift store but grandma pls put your clothes on.
When it comes to trying things on like jackets or outer layers that *don’t* require you to strip down in public, then I personally don’t mind; but even so, I try and find a changing room if there is one.

i work retail, specifically tech and gaming. the most prominent issues are:
-sexism (people straight up will ignore me and go to a different FLOOR just to be directed back to me because i indeed know what i’m talking about)
-being hit on by old men (despite telling them i’m 17)
-having to be nice to the old men because they buy stuff and my sales don’t reach the minimum if i refuse service
-people being angry at me for shit i have nothing to do with, like their kid telling them that we sell vbucks or that their car had an issue in the way and somehow that’s my fault
never work in service if you can avoid it. that’s just a fraction of what happens in a day 😀😀😀

As someone with severe auditory processing issues, if someone tried singing their order to me, I wouldn't be able to hide my annoyance, especially if they still expected me to fulfill their order.
Worst part about the Starbucks singing is that they don’t start the song with the cup size, so the barista can’t grap the right cup and write down whatever tf they’re saying

I always feel bad for workers, especially at Starbucks, because I have anxiety, and the rare occasion I know what to order, I butcher it or forget something (like the size of the cup). I wish I could apologise in advance to all of them 😂

I work at a KFC restaurant and when I say people are so rude for absolutely no reason, I mean it.
One time, I was working late at work and I was on drive thru headset and since there was no one available to help me, I was managing the drive thru on my own. This meant there was a bit of delay with food as I was literally taking an order, making the drinks, taking payment, running to prepare the food and then handing it to the customer.
We had a wait on chicken so we were all waiting on food and parking up cars. Short staff, busy night. Some guy came up to the drive thru window and proceeded to YELL at me for waiting 10 minutes in a drive thru. He refused to pay for his food so I tried to reason with him by giving him a free drink or even free food, to which he took.
After another 5 minutes, I finally handed this guy his food and before he had even looked in the bag, he immediately complained that it was cold.
Before I could say anything, he started to throw food at me (chicken on the fucking BONE) and drive off with the drive thru in a state and even more angry people behind him for the amount of time this guy took up arguing for no reason.
I understand his frustration, but when he can see a 17 year old girl loosing her fucking mind all alone in a drive thru, you did not need to throw food in my face. Especially since that shit HURT.

I am a barista and we had a girl come through singing her order for Tik Tok. I straight up told her how rude and inconvenient she was being, especially since it was rush hour and we were understaffed. The girl who tried to take her order couldn’t understand what she was saying and it backed up our line.

It really made me mad cause my mom was ordering some food for my brothers surprise birthday. I really hope he gets slapped by one of the workers that he pranks. Then when the new car pulls up I’m gonna be lightly chuckling and when they look at me I’m just gonna say “just the car in front of you” “they sang their order” then were both gonna laugh. I work at a Starbucks thing and I can confirm that people regularly make me cry
I just know that if I were the barista I'd be so taken aback that I wouldn't have heard her order properly and I'd have had to awkwardly ask for it again. I recently quit my restaurant job, but my anxiety there made it hard enough to pay attention to people's orders when they were just talking... Absolute nightmare.

I used to work at Starbucks too and we had a no foam lady as well
Eventually we figured out she was trying to get extra free drinks because we’d let her keep the mistake. We started throwing the mistake away and suddenly she stopped having issues with her order 🙄
Yeah that's why I'd look people straight in the eyes while i poured out or trashed the mistake. Also when people would order just shots in a venti cup and ask for milk I'd pour it in the 4 oz sampler cups and politely say that was all were were allowed to give per policy. After a certain amount of time I got real deadpan and wouldn't put up with anyone shit--especially them yelling at my younger coworkers.

I worked as a waitress for 15 years. One day I had our local judge sit in my section and long story short he left me in tears. He was so fucking mean to me for no reason and still got perfect service. He tipped me a penny.....that's one story of thousand's of horrible humans I've served

videos like this make me feel so bad for these workers because when i worked at wendys it was my managers and fellow employees who made it hell for me and the customers were so sweet and understanding and i only dealt with one bad customer and she wasnt even that bad i was just struggling with trying to change something and it wouldnt change and frusterating me but i didnt wanna call my manager bc they always yelled at me when i needed whem when i was untrained, first job, and 99% of the time i called for them it was to ring a $50. I am never working fast food due to it again since i nearly had a stroke from how stressed i was (12 hour days back to back with no break and no food, and someone SAing me all the time) not fun :/

As someone who works in hospitality and retail. I can tell you we don’t have time and energy to deal with this shit, work can be stressful enough and stuff like this just ruins our days and makes us consider if it’s even worth it anymore. Also pro tip don’t mess with people that make your food, I definitely agree in that working these jobs have given a new appreciation for these kinds of jobs. Just cause your job involves serving someone, doesn’t make you less of a person and give people the opportunity to kick you down. I definitely Gumball did a great episode on these kinds of jobs, and what we have to go through sometimes when someone decides to be an asshole to you cause they think they’re above you
